L'Oréal Professionnel Steampod 3.0 Hair Straightener

I was expecting so much from this product. We have now used it for a while with my daughters, and it is a big disappointment. It was really the worst spend money ever. It does iron your hair, but the resulta does not last. The same thing with curling the hair. We have tried it with different hair types with different styling products. The curls don't last at alla.

My hair is frizzy curled and it gets really messy in the humid danish atmosphere, no matter for how long I would burn it with my straightener. I’ve used the steam pod two times now and the hair becomes amazing. And finally it lasts without frizz!One thing that I didn’t like was the fact that there is a significant part on the upper side that is not covered with the ceramic plates, which gives an ugly wave close to the hair roots. The plates should have been placed closer to the edge.

The water tank broke within the first year. Did have one year warranty, Pomme referred me to a local company that insured Rowenta (L'Oreal) products. Rowenta sent the store a new water tank (took 4 weeks), which was great. But the base of water tank still doesn't seem that secure, and now warranty has surpassed. I am concerned after a couple of uses it will break again. This was a investement piece, and for it to break within a year with minimal use is super disapointing. I am concerened the water tank will break again and I will need to purchase a brand new straightener. One year warranty is not sufficient.

GAME CHANGER!!!! I have been straightening my hair since the 1990’s. Needless to say, my hair has taken a $*#! kicking. Since following Nicole on insta, I decided to take her advice and splurge on the Steam Pod. I cannot believe the difference in my hair. I used to always have fly-aways but since using the Steam Pod, no more fly aways. I can actually feel the difference in my hair! The moisture from the steam actually locks into your hair! A game changer

I have thick, frizzy hair, that I find a total nightmare to keep under control. My hairdressers always get my hair looking fantastic using the steam pod, so I decided to purchase one myself, not expecting the results to be the same as when I go to the salon, but hoping it would be an improvement from my GHD's. All I will say is WOW!! I now am able to get my hair looking fresh out of the salon myself, and what I love is that my hair stays straight between washes, with no need to re-straighten. I just get up in the morning, a quick brush and it looks fab again. I do use the steam pod smoothing cream for thick hair and the protective smoothing serum when I blow-dry and style, and my hair looks really healthy and shiny, with no damage to my ends. I like my hair straightened, but it's always been a pain to do it, first of all because I have a lot of hair and it takes around 20min to do them in the morning (blowdryer plus straightener) and of course because heat damages my hair even more and I didn't want to fry my hair every other morning, so I never used the highest heat setting in an attempt to prevent high heat damage from being done. As a result my hair was never sleek straight as I would have liked it to be and always felt dry after straightening regardless of my effort. Something about that steam technology that makes my hair feel so soft and shiny as well as much healthier and actually the fact that it does the job much faster means that my hair is not being damaged as badly as with regular straighteners. For someone who has always struggled with my hair no matter what I used or did, this has truly not only saved my hair but also saved me trouble every morning.

I have purchased the Steampod 3.0 recently and was the best choice ever I've made. My hair is naturally curly, very curly and after I tried the 2.0 previous model I have decided to buy the new one. It's very handy that the cable rotates and no additional tank as it's inbuilt. Makes very easy to use without having someone to help. It is really makes my hair very straight, shiny and healthy, even after shower and shower stays straight, no need to redo. I have to say that you have to use the creams which is advised to buy with it, but really lasts long, no need that much to apply before straightening. Well worth the money for me as I can do it for myself now and I can have different hairstyles more often than before. Only downside if I have to say something, however still the best straightener on the market, that is still sturdy and big, however not that big and heavy than 2.0, and makes a little bit harder to put close to the roots, but manageable with a little bit of practise. I really advise to try it, buy it. You won't regret as it does a much better job than going to a saloon to get your hair done.

Smoooooth

I have bought these for my daughter for Christmas so they’re still in the box. My daughters friend has these and used hers and the results were unreal. My daughter has corse wavy hair and currently has GHDs. She has to go over her hair quite a few times to get the results she wants, in turn drying her hair out and causing damage. When she used the L’Oréal steampod, it looked like she had a professional smoothing framing done, her hair so soft and light and the shine was unbelievable!!! I will definitely have a happy teenager come Christmas Day!!!

Wow, the Steampod is such a great hair styling product, I am pretty blown away by it. It is essentially the same as my usual hair straightener except that it works with steam. But the superb thing about it is that it straightens my hair with less damage than an ordinary straightener, I have less hair breakage and my hair looks sleeker and less frizzy at the ends after I have styled it. I also I have to use this less often as my hair stays straight even after sleeping on it. With an ordinary hair straightener I have to re-style my hair every day as it just turns in to a mess overnight. When I use the Steampod I just need to comb it in the morning or neaten up the ends at most and it looks fab again. I have shoulder length hair that has been bleached (it was dark red) and dyed blonde so I have to be careful and try not to damage it any further consequently I am delighted with the Steampod. It is so easy to use as well. There is a small water reservoir that you fill with filtered water using a little bottle and that is the only real difference between a Steampod and a normal hair straightener. The water lasts for a few uses so you don't need to re-fill it very often. The plates are nice and wide and there is a comb on one side that helps to straighten your hair and guide it over the hot plates. You have three heat settings to choose from, (180, 200 and 210), and as the control buttons are all situated inside by the plates you don't touch them by mistake while you are using the Steampod to style your hair. You can also use it to curl your hair so it is not just a straightener. I would have liked it to come with a heat mat and it is a little heavy, (it weighs just over 650g), that is not a problem for me but it might be for some people but those are the only two negatives I can see. I really feel this is a game changer in hair styling, I love my Steampod & will never go back to my old gadget..
