Before splashing out on the 1oz size, I opted to try out the 0.5oz (15ml) bottle. Due to its high silicone content, I tried, but wasn't able to use this twice daily as instructed. However when applying it on alternate days, I found my skin could tolerate it, and I did notice a slight blemish reduction (perhaps 50%) which were from a previous acne breakout on my chin. I used only the smallest amount of the concentrate, perhaps less than half a drop, on my chin and neck area, followed by a tiny dab of their Gel-Crème as instructed by the SA at the La Mer counter, to seal in the benefits. My review will be very similar to the cream: I received a small sample of this product from SoPost and La Mer. This is wayyyy too heavily fragranced with essential oils and fragrance, which is terrible for sensitive skin. I did really like the thick texture, which was unusual in a serum, from my experience. It did leave my skin silky soft and seemed to be sufficiently moisturized. Why I gave it such a low rating is because it’s loaded with cheap ingredients, such as dimethicone, so it shouldn’t cost a fortune. The algae extract and “miracle broth” is the star ingredient in the product, and I do like that it is high in the formula. I still think it’s too expensive and not usable for sensitive skin. Ultimately I was left with red patches and blemishes on my cheeks ... MoreMy review will be very similar to the cream: I received a small sample of this product from SoPost and La Mer. If anyone knows more about the chemistry of this product and sustainability, I am open to hearing why the price is justified. I read that humans have a large part in processing this instead of machines, so that is actually really cool. And I’m all for a more sustainable product, since the climate crisis is real. I’m just too poor to pay a price like this 😭

La Mer seems to be one of the most controversial brands out there when it comes to those who love La Mer who despises La Mer. It also comes down to how much someone is willing to pay for something that they personally enjoy. I don’t use the term “Holy Grail” for any skincare products bc I just have not found one product that I have loved so much and used consistently every single day at the same time while not knowing what I would do if I didn’t have it (excluding SPF, but, I personally categorize SPF as more medicinal instead of just the regular OTC skincare products like Serums or Concentrates). I wouldn’t go so far as to call this my holy grail, however, it is one product that I have repurchased numerous times solely bc it works…for me I enjoy it. I like the process of the Kelp producing Lactic Acid within their formulas. This was also reformulated to provide new anti-oxidant benefits which has made this even better in my opinion. Leaves a velvety after-feel that creates a barrier without making that barrier noticeable or bothersome. After I have dermaplaned or used the dermabrasion machine etc waited a few days this is what I reach for to help with recovery. Any irritation I may be experiencing is soothed almost instantly. I could skip moisturizing for quite a while using this if I really wanted to. If you enjoy something that works for you and you want to spoil yourself, do it. If you have prioritized your spending and you have some left over and you want to throw down money on a Serum or a Cream or some mineralized mist …do it. #skincarerocks #skincareaddict #lamer #serum #concentrate #skincarecollection #skincareproducts #luxeskincare #skincareroutine #howyouglow #skincarehoarder #skincare #selfcare

I received this @lamer The Concentrate from #sopost awhile ago have had a chance to use it a few times. This is a very small sample, so I might have 2 more uses left in it. The first thing I noticed is it smells like sesame seed oil the texture is slightly on the thicker serum side, but it has a silky slip to it. It applies smoothly with a tiny bit of stickiness, but it absorbs quickly. I usually let my serums absorb for about 15 mins before adding anymore product to my face. I didn't have enough uses to see a significant difference, but I will say it's very moisturizing, slightly tacky (so stick to night use) it has a lot of oils in it, so adjust your skincare accordingly. I do use this with another oil because even though this has a lot of oils in it, it doesn't clog my pores or make me breakout. It has sesame seed oil, sunflower seedcake, sweet almond seed meal, eucalyptus leaf oil (I can smell this, too), copper glucconate, zinc glucconate, along with several other oils extracts. This product does contain wheat, too. I have a gluten allergy, but only if ingested. LA MER is known for having it's higher end prices, so I will admit that I wouldn't spend a lot on this because I think it's a luxury product. This came in a set with Creme De La Mer I'm finishing off the rest of that. The Creme De La Mer I would splurge on if I had the money because I think it's worth it. Overall, I'd give this a 3.5-4 star rating. I do believe it has quality ingredients, but you can find those in another less expensive alternative. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Today I would like to share my experience of incorporating the La Mer The Concentrate Serum into my skincare routine. Believe it or not, this is truly a lifesaver whenever my skin is at its most difficult time. Fortunately, my whole face has returned to its normal condition after applying this serum for three weeks. I have noticed this serum’s excellent healing power after applying it to broken skin caused by pimples, burn wounds, scarring, and even eczema. This is definitely not an everyday serum, but can always play the role of a superhero when my skin needs rescue. However, the applicator is basically designed to get the product wasted as it has a flat design that cannot dig out the serum on the bottom. I have to use a longer spatula or cotton tip to empty the product, which can be a bit annoying considering the hefty price tag.

After years of use, no more

Have used this for a few years, and finally gave up on the terrible packaging. The plastic applicator isn't long enough to reach all the product, and even if you go to the beauty counter at your favorite department store to get the extra long applicator, you still end up wasting a ton of product. I thought maybe the largest size would be worth it, but I just ended up feeling more frustrated at having spent that much money on product I couldn't reach to use. I've tried extra long q-tips, the extra long applicator, and even considered breaking the bottle open. There's still a couple weeks worth of product in the bottom every time. At this price, you'd think they could come up with better package design and less waste. As for the product, itself, it has smoothing and soothing properties that kept me buying it despite the packaging. It's a good complement to isotretinoin, since it does seem to reduce redness and irritation. That said, the smoothing properties are the result of dimethicone, so if you use any other dimethicone products, like primers, it's prone to pilling.I've started using a (much, much cheaper) hyaluronic acid product instead, and my skin seems just as happy. Now I regret all those years throwing money at this one. I'd recommend getting the smallest size to try this if you feel compelled, and compare it to any other soothing and/or dimethicone product before investing in bigger sizes.

Feels great on my skin
10 January 2023

I purchased the baby sized bottle for myself for Christmas, having always been curious about the brand. I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks and I don’t see much of a difference. The concentrate goes on like silky air. I can’t think of a better way to describe it. The texture is amazing. It’s weightless and leaves my skin feeling so smooth and soft. I use this under a serum and my skin does look more even, but I’m not sure if it’s the La Mer or the serum—which is a good serum. I look at the concentrate like more of a skin food type of product. I’m in my 40s and I’m using this as a preventative measure. Unless I have an adverse reaction, which I doubt, I’ll probably repurchase. Incision healing MUST
22 April 2023

I read somewhere this would help with healing scars after surgery. I had a planned surgery coming up that was going to leave a large scar that would likely be permanently thick and discolored. It would not fade to a thin red line like most scars. My expectations were low, especially because my plastic surgeon told me there wasn't anything typical that would help.As soon as I was told I could use lotions on the incision for itching and tightness I started using the concentrate several times a day. I only used enough product to cover the applicator spatula inside the cover, a very small amount. I used the concentrate until it was gone, about 8 months. Know what else is gone?? The scar!! Yes it’s insanely expensive, but this is one product that has quickly become essential in my night routine. This is my complete night routine featuring La Mer - cleanse my face/remove makeup (right now I’m using a Dermalogica cleanser that’s very good) I press in La Mer the Treatment Lotion as a first layer. Let dry, then apply The Concentrate Serum. Let that settle for a few minutes (it sinks in pretty quickly) then apply tretinoin 0.05%. Next I cocktail La Mer The Renewal Oil and original Creme de La Mer on my fingers until it’s warmed up and ready to go, and finally I press that all over my face and neck. Wake up to gorgeous glowing skin.Lastly, just wanted to mention that I have read about a small subset of people experiencing breakouts because of the high concentration of seaweed/Miracle Broth in the Concentrate. This hasn’t happened to me personally, but if you think you could be susceptible you’ll probably want to try a sample before splurging.

The Concentrate from La Mer is a concentrated treatment for your skin that visibly soothes, protects and strengthens it. Treat your skin to this regenerating treatment as part of your face care routine. Serums from renowned premium brand La Mer offer antioxidant protection and are formulated with a concentrated form of the cell-renewing Miracle Broth. This visibly reduces signs of negative environmental influences and counteracts redness and skin irritation. The Concentrate can also be applied to sensitive skin. The serums make skin look healthy and energised, strengthen the skin’s barrier and make it more resilient so that it is better prepared for environmental influences and other stress factors. This is an effective way to prevent premature skin aging, which otherwise manifests itself as sagging skin and age spots. Suitable for daily use Apply La Mer Concentrate to the skin at least twice a day or as required and gently massage the serum into the skin. The serums optimally prepare the skin for the subsequent application of La Mer moisturiser. They can also be worn as a base under your everyday make-up. The nourishing formula of The Concentrate will do your skin as much good in the summer when it is exposed to the sun as in the winter when it is exposed to additional stress from the cold.
