I was super excited to receive La Roche-Posay's latest product, EFFACLAR DUO+M. However, I found myself slightly confused as the box displayed information in both Russian, English and French and contains conflicting details on the product itself. In 2023, it's crucial for brands to provide clear and comprehensive guidance for both seasoned skincare enthusiasts and newcomers alike. Now, let's delve into my personal impressions. For me, this product didn't quite hit the mark. It has a decent ingredient list, featuring a personal favorite of mine—Niacinamide. I had read numerous glowing reviews and even received glowing recommendations from close friends. Regrettably, my skin tends to be finicky with dermatologist-recommended brands, including Cerave and Cetaphil. ...Ā MoreI was super excited to receive La Roche-Posay's latest product, EFFACLAR DUO+M. Despite my best efforts, incorporating EFFACLAR DUO+M into my routine proved to be a challenge. Whether used in the mornings alongside my regular regimen, solo with sunscreen to follow, or on a sporadic basis, it consistently caused irritation around my nose, cheeks, and even my eyes, regardless of application distance. Consequently, providing an objective evaluation of its efficacy became impossible, given the discomfort it caused. In a final bid, I decided to isolate its application to my forehead one night, having noticed a few unwelcome blemishes. To my surprise, it yielded positive results. By morning, I observed a notable reduction in these blemishes. I’m inclined to give it another chance, albeit confining its use to my forehead.

I also feel like it left like a film on my skin as when I would wake up I had this residue which I never used to have. Again, I’m not 100% certain that these negative skin effects are because of the cream. I did a bit of research and apparently it is normal for your skin to get worse before it gets better when using these sort of products, especially if your skin isn’t used to using these sort of treatments (which mine isn’t). I would say that my complexion does seem much more even and glowy, but again, I don’t know if that is because of the product or because my water intake has drastically increased (we’re talking 3-4l a day!). I did have really bad scarring on my neck area from spots, but they defo seemed to have lighted up a bit! All in all, even though my results haven’t been as wow as the reviews, I wouldn’t completely write the product off especially since a lot of people have experienced really good results. Maybe I just have to use it a bit longer for me to see the desired result!

A week before my period my skin tends to only breakout a tiny bit or sometimes not at all, but at the end I did not some bumps underneath my skin that were going to sprout once my hormones change. I noticed after the first day of using it, the next day the redness was much less than it would’ve been and the bump didn’t progress to get bigger. So my first impressions were good! I’m glad a waited 2 more weeks though as my opinion on the cream would change. After my period had passed, it was only then that my acne got worse which isn’t normally the case for me. After my period is when my skin is at its best. I believe this is because the product made my skin begin to purge. Purging is normal and if you stick with it, you can get some good results. However for me, the acne/pimples were large and painful and I didn’t want to carry on using the product because of it. Blemish wise I haven’t noticed a different just yet but I’m going to keep trying it and find a space for it in my skincare routine. If you struggle with painful acne or acne prone skin in general, I’d just be careful and be ready for the purge just incase. But if your major problem is JUST blemishes and blemishes not caused from on going acne issues, I truly think you’d have a good shot with this product. It really did help with the redness for the first 1-2 weeks which I think is great.

The scent has a slight citronella-like sharpness to it, along with a cucumber freshness but it fades pretty quickly, if you’re sensitive to scents. I was a bit disappointed to discover there is some perfume added, as that tends to irritate my skin, but it is the last ingredient so I suspect it’s there to mask the less pleasant scents of the other ingredients. I’d personally prefer it to smell less pleasant but not have perfume, but I know that’s not most people’s preference! This moisturiser is for acne-prone skin, and I have noticed fewer blackheads, and an improvement in my skin texture. Hooray! I could definitely see a soothing effect within the first day. However, if I use it too often I find a couple of spots will get a little irritated. I suspect that’s either the perfume or the zinc (which I’ve had occasional issues with), but I think if I alternate this product with another moisturiser I’ll likely get the benefits without the drawbacks. (Alternating products is something I have to do anyway, so this isn’t unusual.) It’s definitely something that I’ll continue to experiment with, which may not sound like much, but is actually pretty high praise given my skin’s natural ability to be an obnoxious agent of Supreme Chaos. Overall I’d say it’s definitely worth a go, especially given the Ā£20 price point for the ingredients included. #complimentary #LaRochePosay

I have recently received this product from @influensteruk and @larocheposay in return for my honest review on @influenster. #gifted I've been a big fan of almost every single LRP product that I've tried over the years. I'm afraid I really, really do not like this at all. I didn't get on with the spotscan that LRP provide online. It said I have blackheads and blemishes that don't exist, yet my hyperpigmentation wasn't picked up by it at all. I also struggled using it as you cannot wear glasses while taking the images, but without them I couldn't see what the screen was telling me to do as I needed to turn to the side, in the end I had to get someone to help me by reading the screen while I followed the instructions. I also struggled using it as you cannot wear glasses while taking the images, but without them I couldn't see what the screen was telling me to do as I needed to turn to the side, in the end I had to get someone to help me by reading the screen while I followed the instructions. I don't mind the nozzle type or that it's a squeezy tube, as it's nice and easy to use and you get out a reasonable amount of product at once and it doesn't get messy. I absolutely HATE the scent of the moisturiser. It's awful, overwhelming and very strong, floral like, to the point it feels like I've shoved my face into a bunch of flowers. If you can't deal with scent then this is most definitely not for you. Luckily enough once the product dries down the scent is not really there. The product also brought me out in more spots than I would normally have (unless I get an acne flare up) and it did nothing to help get rid of the spots it created, nor did it seem to fade any scarring or hyperpigmentation. One thing I do like is the way the product feels once it dries down, almost a demi matte, it gets rid of shine but feels nice on the skin. As expected it sits very nicely under makeup but it is not hydrating enough that the dry patches on my face disappear and so make up dies cling to those areas. However, after wearing make up for several hours it still looked nice and like it did at the beginning. So, if you have normal skin type and want to try something new under make up that will last I'd recommend you to try it. However, I can safely say that I will very rarely use it. It's not for me and I found it very disappointing, even after trying for a fortnight. @larocheposay @influenster #LaRochePosay #effaclar #acne #complimentary

I recently gave La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo(+) M a try, and I must say, it's quite an interesting product. As someone who's always on the lookout for ways to achieve smoother skin before applying makeup, I had high hopes for this one. First things first, let's talk about the results. After using this product before my primer and makeup, I did notice a subtle reduction in the appearance of my pores. It wasn't a drastic transformation, but there was definitely a slight improvement. That being said, the effect wasn't as pronounced as I had hoped for, given the product's claims. One thing I can't ignore is the texture. I'm not a big fan of how it feels on my skin. It has a slightly tacky sensation that I found a bit uncomfortable. I understand that skincare products can sometimes have unique textures due to their ingredients, but in this case, it was a downside for me. I'm tempted to continue using Effaclar Duo(+) M simply because I did see some positive results. If the reduction in pore size becomes more noticeable with prolonged use, I might be able to overlook the texture concern. But for now, I'm on the fence about whether I'll incorporate it into my daily routine - time will tell! In conclusion, La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo(+) M does show potential as a pore-minimizing product, albeit with a texture that I personally find off-putting. If you're looking for a subtle improvement in pore appearance and don't mind the feel, it might be worth a shot. For me, the jury's still out on whether I'll become a repeat user. (One other Minor point: the ingredients/ instructions etc, on the product and it’s packaging is TINY! - if you find the same, be sure to have a loon online!!)

My skin loves this!

After determining to put myself on a mission just before lockdown hit (perfect timing to finally give my all into something & take care of myself) I decided I needed to get a grip on my skin. It had never been awful by any means and always suffered with the odd spot each month due to hormones & periods, however I noticed such a drastic change in my skin once I came off the contraceptive pill at 22 (started taking at 15).Out of nowhere after about 6 months of stopping, my skin completely flip reversed and got into such a state that I had no idea what was going on, how to manage it or to help it in anyway. After years of suffering and with talks of a possible lockdown happening to the UK, at 25 I needed to get a handle on it. After years of suffering and with talks of a possible lockdown happening to the UK, at 25 I needed to get a handle on it. I wanted to rule out going to the Dr's first to see how I could help/what effect was I causing myself (+ with lockdown, Dr's/NHS didn't need some 25yr old complaining about spotty skin when there were/is bigger issues going on for them to deal with). After discovering Caroline Hirons (what an absolute hero this woman is!), I decided to do a lot research to try and nail down the problem (that could help alleviate as much as possible as well as dealing with the changes going on in my body) by watching her youtubes, her IG lives, read her blog, bought her books, you name it, anything she said went. It may seem obvious to many but I assumed being in my 20's and puberty long gone, acne wasn't a thing, odd spots yes, acne no. Well I discovered I was suffering with a painful case of hormonal acne, 2wks would be visible and little spots occurring but manageable to a few days before my period till about the next 12 days very painful angry acne with huge cysts under the skin would appear. After researching and finding a suitable routine (double cleanse, serums, moisturisers, SPF, all of it) the turnaround in my skin was magic. This is one item I decided to try and include and I am so thankful I gave it ago and it worked out for me. This stuff really is the magic in my routine and still 4yrs on now at 29, I am still using this just as prominent as I was at 25. I can notice such a huge difference when I don't use/ran out and the kurb it puts to my spots/blemishes is amazing. Will forever buy!

This product has become a game-changer in my skincare routine, and I can confidently say it's one of the best moisturizers I've ever used.First and foremost, the formulation of this moisturizer is impressive. It's specifically designed for oily and blemish-prone skin, and it combines several key ingredients to combat excess oil, clogged pores, and acne breakouts. The inclusion of niacinamide helps to regulate sebum production, while LHA and salicylic acid work together to exfoliate dead skin cells, unclog pores, and reduce the appearance of blemishes. The lightweight and non-greasy texture of the moisturizer is perfect for my oily skin. It absorbs quickly without leaving any residue, providing just the right amount of hydration to keep my skin balanced and comfortable throughout the day. Unlike some other moisturizers for oily skin, this one doesn't strip the skin of its natural oils, which can lead to overproduction of sebum. One of the things I appreciate most about this product is its ability to tackle blemishes and prevent new breakouts from forming. With consistent use, I've noticed a significant reduction in the number and severity of my acne spots, and it has helped to fade post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation faster.
