This product helped me tremendously when I was having hormonal acne flare ups. I’ve solved that issue now so I don’t have a reason to use it. I feel like it’s better suited as a shower cleanser so you don’t accidentally get salicylic acid on your clothes and towels. The durable packaging is perfect to keep in the shower. I dropped it multiple times and the cap didn’t break. It can be drying if you use it everyday. I recommend pairing it with the Toleriane Moisturizer if you go that route. Once or twice a week was never a problem for me and I would alternate with the Toleraine foaming cleanser or the Toleraine Hydrating Cleanser.

Best cleanser I’ve tried! 💕

I just started using this product. I’ve been eagerly to use this cleanser! I bought it at Walgreens. I think I love it. I really see a difference in my skin with the first use. It doesn’t dry my face, I don’t break out, & it’s not oily. It does strip my natural oils from my face. Sometimes I have a very dry skin during the summer & winter but since I’ve switched up a bit my skin care routine and being consistent, my face right now feels like a combination type skin. I’m glad my face is no longer bumpy, feels texture, no more enlarged pores and very soft smooth feeling! I used to use Cetaphil Benzoyl. I still have somewhat left but the Effeclar Cleanser does the job better!! Thank You La Roche Posay. Great product!

I always take reviews with a grain of salt. So my skin is unfortunately on the dryer side but I was getting all these little pimples everywhere. They would clear and then a new set would form. I’m super picky about my skin care and decided to try this. It’s been at least 2-3? Months and my skin has been so clear for the most part!! I still get a pimple here and there but my skin is definitely a lot smoother. At first it didn’t dry me out anymore and now it is. But I switched my moisturizer to something a little more intense and it took care of that! I saw someone else’s review about leaving a residue. I do find that it does but only if I don’t use something to take off my Makeup first. If I don’t take off my makeup I double cleanse and that seems to be working

Holy Grail for Acne Treatment!

This paired with the Effaclar Adapalene Gel 0.1% is the holy grail for clearing acne and dark spots! While the process is longer, it is the most effective and non irritating experience I have ever had. I had to find my way through La Roche's products (costly) to find the right fit for me. The Effaclar line of products has been a Godsend. If you have sensitive skin, I'd stay far away from the Mela B5 products. They were extremely drying, causing lots of burning, irritation and redness in my T Zone and eye area, despite not using near my eyes. Overall, love this medicated cleanser, 10/10! Please give it a minimum of 90 days to begin seeing the lasting results and stay consistent!

Holy Grail for my skin but packaging stinks.

This product is basically my holy grail. It’s the only thing that consistently works on my acne without irritating my skin. I use it both morning and night.The main downside is the packaging. It’s strangely both difficult to open AND prone to leaking. I struggle to get it open, especially when my hands are wet. And yet I often open it to find that there’s a bunch of extra product inside the cap. And if the bottle ends up on its side it leaks all over my counter. I really wish they would fix the packaging.

In combo with clinical dermatology care, there's nothing else that helps to keep my acne at bay besides this wash. When I go periods without owning this wash, my acne comes back. I've found that it works to prevent breakouts and minimizes the amount of time a pimple needs to go away and heal. It can be pretty drying so I prefer to use it once a day, and I'll skip it and stick to something more basic when I feel my face is tightening. Everyone is all about jumping around and trying new products these days but I think if you stick to this you'll see the results you're searching for elsewhere. I have super super sensitive, aging skin, and am allergic to "everything." I have fine, curly hair, with some coarse white/greys, that was starting to feel like I could never get it clean. My scalp had all kinds of build up, even though I never apply "products" to my scalp anymore, just shampoo and conditioner. Since silicone seemed to get a bad name in hair care (some silicones are water soluble, and some aren't, and there was no easy way to tell), it seems that instead, everything is formulated with polyquants now. They are similar to silicone, and vary in how easily or how difficult they are to wash off. I have tried everything unscented, clarifying. I went to Aveda and saw all the build up on my scalp. (I don't end up with a burned scalp or contact dermatitis on my face or body!) For a while, I used follow-up with the La Roche Posay face wash with nicinamide and glycerin for oily skin as a conditioner. I would comb my hair with it in. But after a while, the glyerin seemed to be a problem. Now, I just wash it with this. My hair does feel a bit squeeky clean when I don't condition it in the shower, but instead, now I use a homemade oil blend of more hemisqualane than squalane, and a few drops of sunflower seed oil when my hair is soaking wet, and as it dries. (similar to the SEEN brand miracle hair oil, which is great but can get greasy if you use too much. By using more hemisqualane than regular squalene in mine, this doesn't happen.) It is great. My hair is not frizzy, is incredibly soft, shiny, and easy to control even the next day. it sort of clumps and curls and does it's own thing ,even if I run my hands through it a bunch. I get many compliments. I know this is an "off label" use for it - but it seems great for hair and scalp, as well as, my face. My hair is clean and not coated with anything, but not stripped either.
