La Sportiva Hyper GTX is an approach shoe in leather with a Gore-Tex membrane that makes it completely waterproof. La Sportiva's experience in the world of climbing shoes has allowed the creation of this extremely comfortable shoe. In fact, the all-around tie system connects to the lacing system, making the fit comfortable and snug. Furthermore, this tie wraps the front midsole thus distributing the tension evenly along the entire shoe. The upper is made of very durable suede and the rubber toe protects the foot from rubbing and impact with the rock and makes it easier on short stretches of climbing (thanks also to the climbing areas at the tip). Hyper is in fact also excellent for via ferrata! The sole, instead, is in Vibram Idrogrip, a particular compound designed specifically for approaching paths. Amortization is ensured by the Impact Brake System on the heel and front.
