I’ve been climbing in my Miuras for about 3 months and they have been outstanding for indoor and outdoor top-roping as well as bouldering. They stick well on slick quartzite and smear effectively despite their stiff sole and moderate aggressiveness. The toebox is unmatched in terms of precision and power in my opinion. My only complaint is the fit of the heel, which is a little baggy after breaking them in (I have relatively low volume heels). This hasn’t caused any real issues, even on big heel hooks and steep climbs, but it does not feel as secure as some other shoes have. Overall I recommend these shoes and would consider another pair down the road even though the fit is not quite perfect.

Best All-Around Climbing Shoe

My last 7 pairs of climbing shoes have been the La Sportive Miuras. After trying different models and brands for years prior, I finally found a shoe that had the precision edging that I wanted, while being a solid all-around shoe for bouldering, sport climbing, and trad (I wear mine ~2 sizes down and take them off every few pitches at the belay). These are still faithful to the original in terms of fit and precision. Velcro is sticky. I also prefer lace-ups as I can dial the tightness a bit and sometimes warm up with them unlaced if bouldering in the gym. Moosejaw delivered quickly and promptly.

Pros- I sent my hardest climbs with this- Good vertical wall climbing- Good precision, not too soft rubber, not too hard, allowing us to feel the rockCons:- EXTREMELY painful to break in. Breaking in only means that the knuckles of the shoes will stretch upwards. The actual shoe does not stretch longer, resulting in a bit more comfort in your knuckles.Summary- What are you waiting for? Buy it. I sized down 2 sizes. Painful, but worth it. Not all day climbing shoes, but this is not the type of shoe for all day climbing anyway

Fantastic Shoe Outdoors & Indoors
13 June 2020

I've had these shoes for a few weeks now and I'm in love with them! I've tested them outdoors and indoors as well and it works wonderfully in all aspects. Solid smearing, edging, works great on micro footholds, and overall super comfortable with a short break in period. Going with the lace ups is a good call for anyone with a slightly wider foot if you're concerned about pain in the toe box area. I have a slightly wider foot but a fairly narrow heel and this shoe fits me perfectly! My street size is 10.5/11 and I ordered a 9.5 for an aggressive fit since I primarily boulder but it's comfortable enough to wear on a longer top rope or lead routes as well. The heel is simple and solid, it has yet to slip anywhere I place it and toe-hooking is great too! There isn't ... MoreI've had these shoes for a few weeks now and I'm in love with them! There isn't much rubber on top of the toe box unlike my Futuras so I was concerned about pain with toe hooks outdoors but it's not bad at all. This would be a good shoe for anyone who is intermediate but also holds up for a more avid and advanced climber. There is a little space around the ankle so just a heads up but it doesn't take away from the performance of the shoes by any means! Good pricing and fast shipping for a quality product, hope this helps for anyone considering these awesome shoes!

For me, these fit like a glove and boost my confidence. Had the evolv supra's before these and the stats are similarly stiff except these have a soft midsole (don't be confused by the full rubber bottom) which I believe makes these more comfortable and has some technical benefits. The (more) asymmetrical toe on these offer the ability to finely choose where to go. This is the hugest difference for me and I'm still trying to wear out those old shoes but if there are pockets to put a toe in, or those tiny "bad" food chips, these will boost confidence. Great heel hooks as well. I wear a 8.5 or 9 in street shoes, got size 41. I have to really pull them on but there have been times where I believe I need next size smaller next time because I've felt enough space ahead of ... MoreFor me, these fit like a glove and boost my confidence. Oh and these are def yellow, not lime.

Good sport shoe
25 September 2022

This shoe is great for harder single pitch sport. I wouldn't recommend it for beginners, the finales are cheaper more comfortable and more all purpose. These shoes are great for pushing grades but can't be worn as long and aren't great for cracks or smearing. I also like them because I have narrow feet. I could see them being really uncomfortable for wider feet.

Great Versatile Shoe
24 January 2022

This shoe lives on edges and in pockets. I use it for both bouldering and sport climbing. For my own experience and talking to others it really does seem like this is the best all-around climbing shoe you'll find, living up to it's billing as a 'quiver-of-one.'It takes slightly longer to break in than most other climbing shoes. I'd say after about six climbing sessions and you're well on your way though. After that expect to wear them about an hour before you have to take them off between climbs, if you're not already doing that. The biggest strength of this shoe is its edging capabilities. You'll feel and trust your feet on the wall. The only (slight) downside is that is doesn't heel hook as great as I would like it to. Maybe if I downsized a half-size more it would feel a more secure in its heel hooking, but the trade-off in comfort doesn't seem worth it, and really it's pretty decent in this field. It's just not winning any awards here. For sizing, I went down 1 size from my street shoe (size US 9 to EU 41). That's been a great fit. For comparison, I wear a size 40 in LS Mythos and and a 41 in Scarpa Vapor V.

Not durable
22 June 2022

It took me few weeks to break it in. It was very comfortable once the painful breaking period was over. The issue I had was that the toes were not durable. The rubber was worn out after 2 months. I do climb indoor climbing once a week and outdoors all day twice a week on granite. Perhaps this is the reason why, however I was surprised how quickly the rubber on the toe wore out and the glue on the sole was wearing out.

Perfect for limestone
28 October 2018

I bought these shoes for sport climbing, most of which I do in North Wales. I've found the edging stability to be phenomenal. These shoes can stick to matchstick edge indefinitely. The only potential downside to their performance is a degree of heel discomfort as tension is transmitted through the length of the foot. This hasn't prevented me from climbing consecutive pitches but for easier multi-pitch I might choose a more forgiving shoe.As well as limestone sport climbing I've also used these shoes on vertical hard sandstone. These aren't the most sensitive shoes so for lower angle grit stone slabs a softer shoe would be preferable, but the Miura is great for exploiting tiny features like pebbles. My street shoe size is usually 43.5 or 44/UK 9 or 9.5. My La Sportiva Cobras which I use for bouldering are a snug 41. I opted for a 42 with the Miura which has worked out great. There is zero dead space but my toes aren't bent to such an extent that I get hotspots on my knuckles (an issue I have with my Cobras after long sessions). The lacing system really allows me to sinch them down when climbing at my limit then loosen them off quickly at the anchor or for easy pitches.I'd recommend this shoe for anybody climbing on a rock type with small footholds who like a reassuringly stable platform. Think limestone or slate. As a dedicated bouldering shoe I would opt for something a bit more sensitive and modern, but I really can't overstate what an excellent sport climbing shoe this is.

Sizing Changed
8 May 2022

I've been climbing in the Miuras since the early 2000s and have loved the shoes over the years. Recently my old pair needed to be resoled, so while they were off at the shop getting new rubber I ordered a pair of the new models. I wanted a size just a little larger for all day comfort so I ordered 46 (normally I order 45.5). When I got them they are smaller than the 45.5 that I had off being resoled. I'm not sure why they changed the sizing and the unfortunate part is that 46 is the largest size they have, so I can't order the next size up.....
