La Sportiva Solution Comp Climbing Shoes Blue Red Women - 34
Solution Comp is the climbing shoe designed for maximum performance on climbing competitions. Perfect distribution of tension is guaranteed thanks to the P3 System technology which allows to maintain the shape over time. Solution Comp is a soft, precise, very elastic and reactive shoe: developed thinking of the movements of climbers on the volumes that today characterize indoor structures. The lacing is precise and quick thanks to the Fast-Lacing system. It has a lock –harness construction for a perfect binding of the foot. The XS-Grip2 sole provides for maximum grip for a precise and safe climb. Solution Comp: the solution is in the name.

I've been wearing the regular (women's) solutions for over a decade, and have always loved them. Every time I've tried a different show I've been disappointed, and reverted back to the solutions. This time certainly did not disappoint. These kicks are amazing on small jibs and the heel is much more forgiving than the regular solution's. They are a bit more challenging to get on, but once they're on your foot, they're super snug and relatively comfortable. These are perfect for the gym and more technical outdoor climbing, but not as good as the regular solutions at toeing in on steep pockets (e.g., I prefer the regular solutions outside at the Red).

The solution comp provides the perfect combo of precision and sensitivity!I currently own the Skwama, Solution, and Genius from La Sportiva, and this shoe fits into that line up as a nice blend of all three. The profile of the toe box provides the precision I love from the regular Solution. With the pointier toe, you are able to easily place all of your power down onto tiny edges or cram your toe into smaller pockets. The sensitivity of the shoe and the increased toe hooking rubber brings in my favorite elements from the Skwama. It is so easy to trust your feet in these shoes! I've now tested these shoes on both polished limestone smears and pockets at Wild Iris and on the smooth slippery cobbles of Maple and Echo Canyon, and they performed extremely well across ... MoreThe solution comp provides the perfect combo of precision and sensitivity!I currently own the Skwama, Solution, and Genius from La Sportiva, and this shoe fits into that line up as a nice blend of all three. The profile of the toe box provides the precision I love from the regular Solution. I've now tested these shoes on both polished limestone smears and pockets at Wild Iris and on the smooth slippery cobbles of Maple and Echo Canyon, and they performed extremely well across the board!Lastly, the heel on the comp model is updated from the 3d molded heel of the regular Solution. The heel was my least favorite thing about the original Solution, but my complaints have been remedied with this new update. The heel is much lower profile, similar to that on the Genius, and it feels far more sensitive and responsive than the regular Solution.I think this is an excellent all around shoe. It has the precision for small holds and the sensitivity for smearing on insecure placements. The closure system allows your heel to feel rock solid in the shoe, and the toe-hooking patch is massive. Pick up a pair and you won't be disappointed! As for sizing: I wear a 41.5 in Skwama and Genius, and 42 in regular Solution. I went with 42 in these and they feel great.Update: I have now used this shoe for indoor climbing as well as outdoor bouldering. This shoe is perfect for bouldering. The heel and toe both stick well for all of your technical hooking needs. The sensitivity and precision this shoe provides works perfectly on almost any boulder problem, indoor or out.

I have tried many shoes over the last 3 years. The shoe I trusted the most and excelled with was the Solution. The only issue I had was, the heel NEVER felt secure even if I downsized a lot. There was slippage. So then comes the Solution Comp.. and wow. It's the perfect shoe. It fits just like the Solution (I got the same exact size), it's a little less painful on the toes because of the revised heel shape, and FINALLY my heel feels secure! Heel hooks are so much better in this shoe than the regular Solution. I have a narrow foot and mostly climb indoors. The toe box and rubber feel the same as the Solution -- I literally didn't notice a difference and immediately trusted this shoe even on Day 1 -- no need to break them in much. If you love the Solution but the heel isn't quite right for your foot, give these a try.I wear 6.5 in women's sandals and 7 in street shoes/boots. I got these in a 37/6.5 (just like the Solutions) and they fit wonderfully. It's a tight fit for me without being uncomfortable. I prefer not to downsize a ton. If you like a snug but comfortable fit, go with street shoe size.

They are really great shoes for pretty much every style of climbing. I don't personally think they are a huge improvement over the regular solutions but I really enjoy the new color scheme. I would advise anyone to save the money and get the base solution unless you somehow need the extra 10% these shoes give.
When Altitude Sports started carrying climbing shoes, I ordered a new pair as my current ones were developing holes. I had the older version of Solution (pink one) a few years back and basically went for the same size. The fit was about the same. I feel the Solution Comp performs better than its predecessor. I did return it simply because I found a place that can resole old shoes which saves me $200... If my old Solution Comp is beyond repair, I will definitely get a new pair of Solution Comp again.
I have been using these and comparing them to the regular solutions. So far heel hooks are easier in the comp version. The toe box is incredibly sensitive and I feel secure on steep terrain. They have enough grip that I feel secure while bouldering and rarely slip. If you are not use to your feet being in an aggressive position while climbing these may take some time to get use to. However I have come to really appreciate the aggressive downturn on severe overhangs and getting over a roof.
I bought this shoe because I wanted a climbing shoe that had more toe rubber. I bought it in a half size too big, and MooseJaw customer service was super helpful in the exchange process in order to keep the sale price I got it for.I didn’t anticipate this shoe having such a soft/flexible sole. I am used to climbing with my la sportive katakis and Miuras that have a really stiff sole. At first I didn’t love it, because the soft sole left my feet cramping extra hard. The more I read about soft soles, however, I realized the soft sole will hopefully help strengthen my feet and will be good for volumes. I plan to continue to use their shoes for mostly for bouldering, and am still really excited about them.
I have been looking for a slightly stiffer shoe that is still sensitive and had a lot of edging power and these were exactly what I was looking for. I can trust my feet on the smallest edges and be able to smear, works well on limestone and sandstone. These only took one session outside to break in.For reference I was using my Scarpa Veloce before this and I wanted a shoe that held its shape more, but still had the sensitivity. I also tried on the Solutions and after experiencing some heel pinching, I switched to these pair of Comps instead and I haven’t looked back!On sizing: I don’t like to size down my shoe size and I felt like the 37 EU fit my street size 6 nicely.
I recommend the comp solutions to everyone within earshot. I got my first pair in June of 2020 and it took me until May of 2022 to finally wear a hole in them. Long lasting and reliable with good footwork! They are a dream for a slab specialist like me, or overhang junkie —soft enough to transmit the feel every micro edge, but supportive enough to let you stand hard into them too. The sharp beak of the toe and knife edges allow you to kiss the wall in style. The large toe patch is great for smearing the top of your foot against the wall for balance in a tricky slab problem, or keeping you snugly in place on an overhang. I really appreciate the lower profile heel cup —I find the ones on the original solutions to be too bulbous and deep. The rubber is delightfully sticky on the comp solutions, and if we’re going to be superficial about it: the red and blue is far superior to the white and orange of the originals. All in all I can’t say enough good things about the comp solutions. La Sportiva, you better keep making these!
I feel like i have new toes. Theyre so perfect for overhanging routes and can toe hook so well it feels almost like cheating. I'm still sorta getting used to the heal. I love that its not a giant bubble like the original comps, but im not quite as confident heal hooking as i was with my previous shoes (the miuras). I think i might just need to get more used to these though. Overall they're def my favorite shoes ever.
