I bought these looking for a good all around climbing shoe. I expected that I’d be doing much more top roping than I actually have, so I can’t really speak on the efficacy of these on a larger wall. Bouldering however has been nothing but a dream. These shoes have great grip. They’re not too aggressive, but some people might find the angle to be a little uncomfortable, especially for gym climbing. The suede has held up pretty well, even through me scraping it on the wall. What I will say is that these shoes will occasionally make a farting sound while walking. Nothing too bothersome, but it’s there nonetheless. All in all I would definitely recommend these to anyone who plans on doing lots of bouldering, and wants a good, somewhat inexpensive, shoe.

I ordered a pair of the Zenits in the same size and they were much smaller than the Tarantula Boulders. The Tarantula Boulders do fit bigger, I would say 1/2 size than other shoes I have tried. I ordered a 41.5 (8.5 US) and they fit me almost perfectly. I typically wear a size 9 or 9.5 US street shoe. The rubber feels great, and they are surprisingly comfortable. Good curve in them but not quite as aggressive as the Solutions. Easy to get on with the pull straps in the back. The Velcro strap pieces have plenty of room to adjust tightness. Overall they're solid for the price.

These are good beginners shoes in that are comfortable enough to keep you from absolutely hating climbing (beginners can’t enjoy climbing if they’re fast-tracked into wearing super painful shoes) yet having a pair of shoes of your own rather than rentals will allow you to break in a pair and “personalize” them to your foot.If you can spring an extra $50, I’d recommend the La Sportiva Kubo instead. They’re higher quality and overall better shoes without sacrificing comfort. It’s worth giving them a try when you’re in the store.

Bought these in may 2023, used for 3 months going to the gym about 2-4 times a month. One thing i loved about these shoes is the comfort, sized down a full size and still felt like wearing regular shoes comfort wise. found myself occasionally forgetting to take them off between climbs to no detriment. They do get a little bit wet inside over a session of climbing, causing some slipping when edging or really trying to jam your toe onto a small hold, but nothing unmanageable if you take them off often. For the most part durability seems good after 3 months, however pretty significant wear through the soles on both feet especially right on the toe where you want to be jamming it on holds.it is a trade off i think, they will last long enough for you to outgrow in skill ... I found myself after a while wishing the toe was sharper or the curve was more aggressive as i progressed, but honestly on most climbs it is comfortable and still very useable despite the sole issues, especially as a secondary shoe for warming up or when your main shoes are just painful today.
I bought these shoes about a month ago (when I first started) and I would recommend these shoes to any beginner. Here are 3 pros and cons:Pros:* consistently do 2-3 hex (v2-v4) climbs* better than rentals; for sanitary and quality purposes* good value; could buy these or rent 20 times at my local climbing gymCons:* rubber on bottom isn't grippy* not great for smearing* not very durable; worn ~ 20 times, but there are loose threads and peeling rubberHonestly, I just searched up "best beginner bouldering shoes" and they are a great entry point given the price.
Been loving this shoe! I’ve been climbing for a year and a half now (gym only) and have used a couple different shoes. The first shoe I had was the La Sportiva Tarantulace. Great shoe for me as I was starting. Had some slippers after that didn’t hit the mark and then I got these. This shoe is great. It’s a touch more aggressive than its laced cousin, the Tarantulace. I also bought a half size smaller than the laced version as well. I went with a half size under my street size 11.5 US. Would highly recommend this shoe for someone looking for their second pair of climbing shoes. The rubber is great, very sticky. All around happy with my purchase :)
These are my first pair of climbing shoes. I have been renting shoes for indoor bouldering for a few months now. I was instantly more successful on the wall when I put these on. Their construction seems really solid and I feel like I will buy the same pair again when these get worn out. I like the extra rubber on the toe and I feel secure in these. I usually wear size 9 and sometimes 9.5 for street shoes. Sometimes 9's are too small.. I got these in 40.5 and the fit is tight and perfect. Toes are perfectly crammed without them being uncomfortable. I originally bought 41.5's but those had a little too much wiggle room at the toes, so I exchanged them.
These shoes are great. I wasnt sure if they would be comfortable enough but was pleasantly surprised. I have size 12 feet and was trying 11.5 but these were too small. I did think these in a 12 size were too big but I had my first climb in them the other day and had a great session. I haven't tried the toe hooks or the heel yet but they are certainly solid enough.
Affordable, well-made gym shoe.I had to send back my usual size (EU 44.5) and order a half-size smaller than usual (EU 44). I have fairly wide feet so perhaps it's because this model accommodates wider feet better than my previous 5.10 and Scarpa shoes.
Bought these so I can have a second pair of shoes while I get my high end shoes repaired, I wanted a harder rubber for more durable wear than the others I wear.I'm usuelly a 9.5 or 10 of street shoe. I went with a 41.5Wore them inside for a few hrs. Tight on the sides, heal was a little loose hurt a little bit along the edge of the shoe at the back of the heal. There was a periodic fart sound as I walked, the bottom of my arch had an air pocket.Decided I'd keep them and went for a climb and a second the next day.First time they felt klunky as my good shoes are very tight. At the end of the climb they started feeling OK.The next climb they felt tighter and felt bad a$$ on my feet. Like a glove. I Did some epic climbs and no issues. Yes a little harder ...
