The Ultra Raptor II GTX is an all-terrain mountain shoe featuring a GORE-TEX Extended Comfort lining membrane, developed for long-distance off-road routes even in the winter months. The GORE-TEX membrane allows sweat to escape without water entering, making it a great shoe for trail running and other adventures where you need protection from unpredictable weather. The rear stabilising heel allows for perfect control, while the integrated lacing system allows you to distribute the tension of the lacing over the entire upper and wrap the foot for perfect wearing comfort. The Ultra sticky rubber outsole provides maximum traction, while the AirMesh mesh upper with GORE-TEX lining keeps you cool, dry, and comfortable. The Ultra Raptor II GTX is a technical light shoe that can be worn for hours and is suitable for off-road use on any terrain.

A favourite from the get-go!

These light hikers were a favourite the first time I wore them. Supple enough to be instantly comfortable while still feeling sturdy and tough enough for the trails.

Everything I wanted in a trail runner/hiking shoe!

I have a narrow foot and read that La Sportiva was a good shoe for women with narrow feet. I wanted a hiking shoe, not a boot, with waterproofing if possible. The Paramus NJ salesman I had recommended a trail runner rather than a hiking shoe. This trail runner is also made for hiking and has more cushioning than the equivalent hiking boot, making it more comfortable to me. Although not narrow, i can tie the shoe tight enough that my foot does not swim in the shoe. And it is waterproof. I don't love the color, and wish there were other color options (but after hiking once the beet color is dusty now and not as vivid!). So I bit the bullet and paid more than I normally do to get everything I wanted.

I purchased a size 9 wide(european 40.5) but unfortunately they too short and I couldn't wear them. I sent them back and ordered the 9.5 wide (european 41) and they were perfect!! Very comfortable and I am on my feet all day as a Nursery Manager at a garden center. I have bunions so I need a sturdy shoe that i'm not going to wear through on the sides.

Happy, dry and warm feet!
14 January 2023

I got these for winter trail running after too many cold toes runs! On their trial trail run this morning they kept my feet warm and dry through the slush and ice. Good fit, plenty of toe room and nice arch support. Looking forward to more great winter trail runs in our fickle New Hampshire winter conditions!

I had to order online, and the shoes were too big. The store didn't have small shoes.

Narrow toe box
9 June 2022

Beautiful, high quality trail shoes. Would have given 5 stars just for the looks and construction, but the toe box is so narrow I couldn't stand in them without my feet hurting. I am a true size 8 in all my running/hiking shoes and have these in the non GTX model in a 39.5 which fit perfectly. But when I ordered a backup pair the same problem occurred - too narrow in the toe box! Length perfect, so I guess I got lucky with the one pair that was wide enough to fit correctly. If you have NARROW feet these are great trail shoes, good arch support, stability, traction and comfort. Built to last!I like these so much that I may try again to see if I can find ones with a slightly wider toe box. Not from this site though, because paying to return shoes that don't fit is ... MoreBeautiful, high quality trail shoes. Not for me
1 July 2023

Shucks! I purchased the GTX version of the Ultra Raptor after having worn three pairs of the non-Gortex ones, so am confident I know my size. And I know the Ultra Raptor, or though I did until these, which I have decided to return. I wear these for hiking on trails and long-distance walking (10-14 mi/day). I am disappointed in the GTX version, although the same size as the other ones I’ve worn out, these seem to run small and they are narrow so I’m not confident even sizing up would do. I will instead go back to the Saucony Peregrine GTX, another of my go-to shoes for long hikes and walks and every day wear.

Wide width
25 August 2024

I purchased these shoes because they came in wide width. They are a good shoe overall except for the width is not wide enough in the toe box. As I keep wearing them and hoping they will break in more and not be uncomfortable for me.Not sure if ordering half size up would have helped.

great hiking shoe
20 November 2022

I wanted a hiker that wasn't a boot but wanted it to be waterproof. I tried on many, and these seemed to fit my foot the best with an excellent heel lock. I have pretty narrow heels. They go up high enough on the ankle that I didn't feel like I was going to get annoyed, and the low coverage of a shoe. I broke them in on a 3hour hike to the Sea to Summit trail. If you know the trail, it's not just a path but lots of rock slabs and roots, streams, snow, and uneven ground. I liked how the stiffness of the shoe allowed me to have to confidence to move quickly but wasn't restricting like an aggressive hiking shoe. The soles are amazingly grippy on wet and dry rocks; wet roots were ok until they were slimy, then not. It even performed nicely in the heavy snow we ran into. ... MoreI wanted a hiker that wasn't a boot but wanted it to be waterproof. It wasn't very good on ice, but thankfully, there wasn't much of that up there. I had no trouble doing the hike in them fresh out of the box. Someone told me this company fit very narrow, but I don't find them uncomfortably narrow like the "on clouds".
