Specially adapted to the female foot: Aesthetic revision of the popular Ultra Raptor model, a trail running shoe designed for long-distance off-road trails, ultramarathons and extended training sessions. The Ultra Raptor II Woman is an updated version of the popular Ultra Raptor, a trail running shoe designed for off-road long-distance trails and extended training sessions. The highly breathable upper made of air mesh fabric has an integrated cushioning plate "Endurance Platform" made of soft EVA with differentiated thickness (larger on the toe, smaller on the heel) for maximum shock absorption in any situation and reduction of ramp angle. The rear stabilising heel insert allows perfect control on cross-passages. The lacing system is integrated with the upper through eyelets sewn onto the inner elastic mesh and hard plastic reinforcements on the outer mesh: this system allows the tension of the lacing to be distributed over the entire upper for maximum comfort. The laces and Ortholite hybrid footbed have also been made from recycled material. Ultra Raptor II is also available in a wide-fit comfort version, for runners with wider feet. The result is an ultra-running shoe that can be worn for several hours and is suitable for off-road running on any terrain. Raptorize yourself, again.

At first I was put off by the weight and bulkiness of these trail runners but after trying on a bunch and comparing their features to what I was looking for, I went ahead and purchased these. I’ve worn them for almost 100km of trail, and its safe to say these are the best trail runners and/or hiking shoes Ive ever worn. They are comfortable for long distances, the rubber is sticky so I feel safe on scrambles, and they are highly breathable. I highly recommend these for anyone looking for long distance trail runners with a sticky sole!My only complaint besides the bulkiness is, I wish they had loops so I can put a biner through.

This was my 2nd pair of this same trail shoe. I was glad it was still available since it's my favorite trail shoe. I used it to run Machu Picchu marathon. The Inca trail has hundreds of thousands of step and stones all different sizes, so the toe guard was important to me. I also need a wide toe box. This shoe has plenty of tread and I got a lot of wear out of them. I wish they would continue to make this very shoe forever, and in this beautiful color! (Note, my previous shoe was a 8.5, but since it wasn't available I had to purchase a 9 this time and intend to keep them.)

I tested the Women’s La Sportiva Ultra II across roots, wet, never-ending rocks (Pennsylvania kind!), and through thick mud. Right out of the box these shoes were comfortable and I was ready to see how they performed. My typical all-day shoe size is 8.5, but I found a size 9 was the best fit to accommodate the thicker hiking socks and a little movement room. The grip across the varied and, somewhat treacherous, terrain provided better traction than I’ve had with my beloved Oboz Sawtooth II’s or my Salomon Speedcross 5’s. Throughout several trail adventures the Ultra II’s performed with excellent responsiveness and agility, which was needed as I sought to get a close view of waterfalls along the trail of “Rocksylvania.” The foot protection built into this shoe, toe ... MoreI tested the Women’s La Sportiva Ultra II across roots, wet, never-ending rocks (Pennsylvania kind!), and through thick mud. These shoes aren’t in the lightest category, but neither are my previous favorite hiking shoes. I prefer to have the awesome traction and protection offered on the La Sportiva Ultra II’s that is lost when making a more lightweight model. All told, this is the perfect shoe for anyone looking for a shoe who are on trails needing the best grip, foot protection, and comfort for miles. If you are looking for a waterproof shoe to traverse across smooth trails, a lighter shoe may be your better choice. For me, I’ve found my new favorite hiking shoe and plan to put 100’s of miles on these this year.

I saw these on the website and I loved their styling, ordered a 9 ( my regular size) European size 40.5. Unfortunately I couldn’t break them in, they seemed too short. I sent them back and ordered a European size 41 (us size 9.5) and they fit perfectly!! I am a garden center nursery manager and need a pair of shoes that are tuff & comfortable. I may buy another pair in the blue for my personal time.
Love this hiking trail shoe/sneaker. I have a narrow foot and it fits a narrow foot really well, especially in the heel. The best part of the shoe is the great traction it has on rocky terrain. Sticky rubber sole, really is sticky! I have been buying the Raptor for years. Holds up well, and I use for hiking in the rocky trails of the Tetons. Recommend if your foot is narrow.
I love these shoes! Wore them 3-5 times a week (trail running and hiking) for almost a year and the soles are still in great condition and have great grip. Very stable shoe, and light on foot. Wore them on various terrains; sharp volcanic rock (mostly), rock, mud, gravel, dirt, sand and great in all conditions. Overall great shoes and would highly recommend!
This is my second pair of Ultra Raptors II. My others were exactly like these (turquoise). I love the fact that I can go several years in one pair and find them still available when I was ready for a new pair. I use them every weekend if not more - for hiking and as an approach shoe to reach remote climbing areas. The fit is excellent for my foot. I wear a slightly larger size than normal to be able to accommodate a thin sock under a light hiking sock if the hike is long. I never have gotten a blister or even close to one. They handle rough terrain, scree, talus, slabs or whatever condition my feet come upon. They stick well on slippery slopes and out performed any shoe I ever worn in wet conditions.
This is my second pair of this style. Good fit, support, comfort. I have narrow feet. Street shoe is 8 1/2 narrow. I own another pair of this same shoe and when these went on sale I decided to purchase a second pair. I upped my size from 41 to 41.5 and find that is better fit. Though a little wider as a result, the extra toe length is better for me. I have tried on multiple La Sportiva running shoes styles, for my foot this fits me the best. My needs: slight pronation, narrow, "normal" foot with slightly arch. I use one pair for work (I stand all day) one pair for the road.
I've always enjoyed running and I've always enjoyed the woods, but never together...UNTIL NOW. The Ultra Raptor II's are surprisingly sturdy, light, comfortable, and breathable for a few miles on a trail. I don't necessarily have the strongest ankles, so I've always been more careful on trail runs, but NOT ANYMORE. Imagine taking a quick turn as the trail winds and a slippery or muddy branch under your turning foot. Now imagine your Sportiva's grabbing hold of the terrain and keeping you steady on your feet. That's PRICELESS. I already knew sportiva from rock climbing, but now my trail game has been elevated, too.The negatives? I'm spoiled and don't like to think about how tight my knot is when I tie my shoes. I'm spoiled and don't like to think about how tight my knot is when I tie my shoes. "Is this going to feel different halfway through my run and will I have to re-tie my shoes?" is the question I ask myself as I gear up and head to the trial head. So, the laces, but that's a replaceable component, and so far, the only negative.
Out of the box, my first impression is that these are very pretty shoes. (Pretty enough the female tween in my life tried to steal them!) I love the jewel-toned teal. It gives a feeling of light iridescence.I have avoided "trainer" type shoes for the last 20 years because they feel too heavy and "clunky," but these are neither. Although there is a deep sole, significant arch support, and light ankle support, I feel like I can move freely. The sole is angled to promote good running posture and prevent stress damage. I tested these running on concrete (which I never do due to pain) and I couldn't pound my heels if I tried. While the sole is thick under the heels, the sole is thin and flexible under the toes. I can move easily and I can feel the ground, which is necessary for safe trail running. The toe-box is roomy without being too big, and the textured soles provide good grip for attacking boulders and gravel (and even piles of mulch!). I go barefoot as much as I can, and I really appreciate being able to feel the ground even when wearing shoes. There is a plastic toe-guard, but it is cut in on the edges to reduce weight and bulk. I did not find it getting in my way. These shoes allowed me to move quickly and fluidly on rapidly-changing terrain even though many of the dirt areas were boggy due to Spring storms. My only complaint about these shoes is that I found them hard to get into. The attached tongue wasn't able to open up as much as I would like. Once on, the shoes did get a bit hot, but this was minimal compared to other brands I have tried. I usually wear much lighter shoes, so I think people who commonly wear athletic shoes would probably not notice either of these.
