An external hard drive that works smoothly to clean up the mess of my overloaded filing system. Easy to set up, its hyper speed is somewhat wasted on my older computer system, but no adapters required to share storage. Even my older firewire drives go into my mac and then to the LaCie drive without much bother.

This is smaller than the older version and sleek looking. Had a problem setting it up (my fault) and the customer service was quick and easy.

Have this hooked up via USB-A to USB-C on a Mac Pro (late 2013). Getting ~220 MB/s actual speeds. Drive is super easy to use, is very quiet and feels like a quality component (heavy). Overall, I'm very happy with it.

Not SSD, but a fast 14 TB drive. My 12 TB G-Raid could no longer be read by my new M1 MacBook, but I was able to save a lot of data to the LaCie, which holds more. So far, it is working very well. Plus it talking up very little space. Wish there was an on/off button, but it knows when it's connected. Pleased so far. It will plug into the Mac without an adaptor. Not heavy but seems solid. Quiet. Would be easy to take on jobs if needed. I'd get a case were I to travel with it.
I've owned several d2's in the past -- all quality purchases. My early view of my new 14TB d2 Pro's is they are large capacity; solid and fast performers; exceptionally quiet; warmer to the touch after extended read/write sessions -- but not of concern; and without any other setting or intervention they automatically sleep and wakeup soon after my Mac does. In my opinion, you get what you pay for and these are worth every penny. The only downside is the blue status light is B-R-I-G-H-T enough to light a dark room at night and can be distracting if they are blinking while you're trying to sleep even down the hall, or if you have them running perhaps in an office when people outside will think the Martians have invaded the place with the bright blue ... MoreI've owned several d2's in the past -- all quality purchases. I placed a piece of dimming film over the light and I still have a visual status what's going on with the drive, but without the nighttime glare.
LaCie drives are the quietest drives I have ever used. They are built like a take in a strong housing and the most reliable external hard drives I've ever owned. This 14TB is is an addition to a 10TB and 8TB LaCie drive that i have attached to my Mac. Solid build and reliable, quiet performance
This is my 3rd LaCie External Hard Drive. I have never had a problem with these drives. The quality, craftsmanship, and price are a win, win. win.
Does LaCie do any QC whatsoever? Tried two different power cables plus different outlets and the drive wouldn't even turn on straight out of the box.
I wanted to buy this on Amazon and saw there was a 3-5 week wait. I then found that B&H was selling it here with immediate delivery at a LOWER PRICE!So far I've had no issues. It's fast and reliable and has been working well as a back up for the myriad drives attached to my computer!
