Upon first opening the packaging, I noticed that the bottle seemed a little small for the price of comparable men's brand name colognes. However, I loved the bottle shape and texture on the sides. It was grippable and easy to hold. My first thought as I smelled the scent from the nozzle was that I was really going to like this cologne. It smelled fresh, clean, and summery. When I sprayed it on me, it still smelled light and fresh and now somewhat "preppy." After a couple hours passed and it sat on my skin, though, I noticed that it turned a little more chemical-smelling and more like what the fragrance counter at department stores smell like as you pass by them. When it lost it's fresh scent and preppiness, that's when it lost some of its appeal to me. I wished it ... The Lacoste L.12.12 French Panache Pour Elle Eau de Toilette came up on my Vine list for review. I could not resist the thought of trying out a new fragrance. This comes in a nice gift wrappable box with the elegant bottle inside. It is a very appealing boxed set that is definitely made to impress the buyer. I got this with my girlfriend in mind. She has a very sensitive nose and only likes certain perfumes. They must not be overpowering or she will not wear them. Having read the description, I thought this may be to her liking. When she opened the bottle she sprayed some in the air and took in the fragrance. I could see she was sampling the air and thinking. Within a few minutes she began to sneeze and kept on sneezing until she washed it off. I am sorry to say the Lacoste French Panache perfume did not impress her and did not even agree with her. I tried a small spray on my arm and found the scent to be a bit sweet floral smelling. A bit too feminine for a man though. We decided to give it to her daughter. Every person's nose is a bit different in how we perceive the perfume. Some I am sure will find this perfume very appealing. My suggestion to anyone reading this, try it at a store that has samplers before ordering. As with any good perfume, they are just too much money to spend only to find out you do not like it after it arrives.

The Lacoste L.12.12 French Panache Pour Elle Eau de Toilette is a perfume that is designed to symbolize a women's strength and freedom. It is said to be elegant and playful in the description. This fragrance is very strong and definitely smells playful. It smells rebelliously flirty and slightly overpowering. This has a youthful appeal but it also has a very strong base. I have never used this perfume before but when I initially smelled it I found that I recognized the scent and that it did not have unique qualities. This perfume does not smell elegant to me but has a stronger sporty type of smell. This perfume may be suitable for someone who enjoys sports, the outdoors, and the ocean. A little goes a long way and I recommend trying a smaller version of this perfume ... I'm not able to handle overly heavy fragrances, so am always careful about what I wear (I start feeling so sick if I can't stand the smell of myself LOL). I wore Lacoste's Touch of Pink fragrance for years and absolutely loved it, so I was excited to try French Panache. The description sounded pretty good to me as I love fruity and was intrigued by champagne rosé, but the bergamot and patchouli made me a little bit nervous. When I first sprayed this on, it smelled like candy. For me, in a really good way. It wasn't overly sweet, but a nice light fruity candy and I was very into it. After a couple seconds, the candy fades a bit and it's a bit more floral. As long as I don't overdo it on the spritzing, I really do love it!If you're looking for a sweet feminine fragrance that's not overwhelming, but still "grown up," this is a wonderful option!
The Lacoste L.12.12 French Panache Pour Lui Eau de Toilette arrived and I immediately opened the box, took out the small bottle of I’ll call it after shave, spayed just a bit on my hands, and then rubbed my hands on my face, neck, and hair. Then I walked over to my wife and asked her what she thought about the scent. She said, “Just OK; I like a more masculine scent.” About a half hour later I asked her what she thought of the scent now that it had a chance to remain on my skin and hair for this time and now she liked the scent better than when she smelled it for the first time.I just sprayed some of the Lacoste onto my hands and again rubbed it onto my face, neck, and hair. It has some staying power and seems to me to get better smelling the longer it remains on my skin.Bottom line: I think most men are going to like this Lacoste product. A little goes a long way. Recommended.
I was given the chance to review this scent. As this is for females, my wife was the tester.Likes?: Love the presentation. This bottle is red, with blue accents and a white cap, which mirrors the male version which is blue. Very nice. Love the scent. The scent is not initially overpowering at all. it doesn't immediately jump out at you either and it does last. It neither smells like young girl (too sweet) nor old lady (slightly musty), but is just right. A real winner! I think this would be a good gift for the woman in your life.Overall: Price point is what should be expected. This smells great, I like smelling it. My wife liked wearing it. All good.
This is a good, functional cologne, in my opinion. The price is very reasonable-- the scent is a little overbearing-- but concerning its price again, I think quite good. As I am writing this review, that price is about $61 for 1.7oz. Cologne/perfume, you can pay as much for as you want to. Literally. The scent is a slightly more refined version of "Right Guard." That is to say-- Right Guard is an imitation of something like this cologne. So this is how scents work-- The more money you spend, the more subtle and complex they become. The difference is the same between reading Harry Potter and Anton Chekov. They're both technically books, but one is vastly more subtle than the other. Were I to rank this scent amongst famous writers, I'd call it perhaps, Phillip K. Dick. ... MoreThis is a good, functional cologne, in my opinion. This is a very fresh smelling eau de toilette that has a masculine yet sweet scent that has a very summery quality to it. Not too strong, it smells great and immediately became my new favorite summer scent. With a smell somewhere between Calvin Klein's Eternity and Davidhoff's coolwater, it's in that area of smells where there isn't much musk, but you can get just a hint of patchouli if you really pay attention. The main scents of cardamom, lemon zest, and mandarin are the main smells, with the other scents like red windsor apple and sandalwood barely noticable but it helps round out the overall tone. The smell of a thing is completely subjective so comparisons to other products I've tried are hopefully somewhat helpful here. This doesn't smell exactly like anything else I've used so it's hard to give an exact comparison. I have been wearing Lacoste clothing for decades now but this is only the second fragrance I've tried from them. I liked the other one also, but this is certainly one of my recent favorites, mostly for it's fresh, almost playful scent. The best thing I can say about this Lacoste L.12.12 is that I like the more I smell it, and I really liked it the first time I experienced it.
My preferred Eau de Toilette is Acqua di Gio by Armani, so I was curious to try this Lacoste.First, the packaging is very nice. It reminds me of Lacoste's shirts, complete with alligator imagery. Love the navy blue with white/red colors and texturing on the bottle. The dispensing spray mechanism worked well.Second, the scent, and I realize this is highly subjective, was very similar to Acqua di Gio, albeit a little more floral. Longevity was about 2-3 hours and I did not experience any chemical odors as some other reviewers have noted. There were some lasting scents at 6 hours although these were more subdued.Pricing is about right for this product, although it is more expensive than Acqua di Gio per oz. I still prefer Acqua di Gio, but the Lacoste is very close.
This product’s most notable ‘top note’ is combination of a refreshing citrus fruit scent with a touch of floral scent. The citrus-like scent reminds me of the scent of bergamot, sweet orange, grape fruit, lemon, and lemon grass, while the floral part reminds me of the scent of Lily of the Valley, rose, ylang ylang and perhaps Chamomile. The floral scent, surprisingly, lasts all day. Because it smelled initially almost like an unisex eau de toilet, my husband liked the top note, and he wondered if he could use this too, but it smells definitely feminine, but not overly so, like one you would want to wear when you are trying to be a femme fatale, or a Marilyn Monroe. You would smell more like a favorable nice, perhaps sporty, or youthful girl. The scent is ... I think it is a good eau de toilet for dining out, or for all-day wear in a professional setting.

Just as René Lacoste invented the polo shirt for greater freedom on court, women players were also aiming for freedom. By shortening the hems on their pleated skirts, they broke with conventions along the way. Lacoste has once again encapsulated this spirit in a fragrance collection. Elegant with a playful twist, L.12.12 French Panache Pour Elle captures the joyful spirit of a victory celebration. A fruity, luminous perfume fragrance for women, it vibrates with the brightness of Blackcurrant, Bergamot and Pink Pepper. A bubbly Champagne Rosé accord sparkles at its heart, embraced by Jasmine Sambac and Rose Essential. A modern mix of Patchouli, Blond Woods and Musks shimmers in the dry down. Lacoste L.12.12 French Panache Pour Elle is presented in a contemporary red bottle, emblazoned with the House’s signature crocodile. The pure white cap is accented with a band of brilliant blue – a nod to the masculine version of this radiant scent. Play with panache!
