Lancome Advanced Genifique Eye Cream 15 ml

My complexion looks so much more even and brighter ever since I started using the Serum and Eye Cream. I didn’t get any kind of negative reaction to either product which is good since I have sensitive skin. It doesn’t make my face oily, but it does make it just a bit sticky. I really don’t mind it since I only use it at night time. I find that if I use it during the day it makes my skin feel even more sticky with how hot it is out. Again, not a deal breaker for me. My face also feels and looks a lot smoother. I’ve never really had dark circles, but the eye cream really get in there for fine lines and wrinkles. It gives moisture to tired and dry under eye skin without any irritation and tingling. The scent is subtle and texture is wonderful - it feels amazing and absorbs nicely. I must say, as a skincare junkie, I'm not always impressed with the ingredients in luxury skincare brands, but Lancome Advanced Genifique Wrinkle & Dark Circle Eye Cream is packed with actives and scientifically proven components. On first use, I could feel the silicone, which is great in eye creams. It's an excellent smoothing and moisturizing agent, as is the hyaluronic acid. To actively brighten dark circles, dark spots, and sun damage (and fight wrinkles) there's Vitamin C, a proven active. Make sure you're wearing sunscreen! There's also another interesting ingredient that I've never seen or used before in skincare: bifidus prebiotic - to feed beneficial skin bacteria that promote healing and healthy skin. An eye cream for nourished, healthy skin

I was happy to receive the Lancôme Advanced Génifique Eye Cream to trial, having liked and continued using the Advanced Génifique serum already.My first thoughts after a few weeks of using the eye cream are that the moisturising effects were reasonably long lasting, and that it felt like the cream would support the health, resilience and strength of my skin with ongoing use.The packaging looks nice - simple and classic and reflects the Lancôme price point, and a little goes a long way with this eye cream so I feel it will last me a while yet. The texture is a lovely thick gel-cream. It feels nourishing without being greasy or sitting on top of my skin, and it sinks in nicely without feeling like it is going to evaporate away imminently.I noticed that after applying the cream overnight, my makeup would apply beautifully under the eyes the next morning (I got more compliments on my makeup day to day), and I didn't feel any tightness or irritation after long days in my heavily air-conditioned work environment. The skin under my eyes and the crepe-y fine lines and 'crows feet' on the outside of my eyes above my cheekbones appeared smoother, fresher and plumper, and this effect lasted much longer than many other products I have tried. I didn't notice any improvement in dark circles, but I think mine are more a product of my bone structure than anything else, I did find my concealer/illuminator products sat nicely after using the eye cream though.I also applied the eye cream after irritating activities such as a day out snorkelling, and removal of heavy event makeup, and felt my skin recovered really well from these events when using the cream. I noticed an improvement in the plumpness and bounce of my skin as well as improved resilience / strength in my skin. Unusually, I actually hadn't read the product information very thoroughly before trialling the eye cream so was interested to read that skin recovery and strength were mentioned as product benefits.With the change to cold windy weather and indoor heating as we approach winter, I am always on the hunt for skincare that will support my skin health and moisture barrier. I'm always looking for hydrating, nourishing products particularly with prebiotic/probiotic or fatty acid / ceramide benefits, as I seek to avoid the tight dry skin I inevitably get after several months of hospital heating. After trialling the Lancôme Advanced Génifique Eye Cream I am happy to add this to my healthy skin care regime, and would happily recommend for others, especially those looking for a little bit of extra care in the colder months.4/5 stars - packaging is lovely but a little inconvenient to use hygienically; I think I would like either a tube or a little spatula to be included with the pot. This eye cream is a little more expensive than some, but on par with my existing eye serum (NIOD FECC) and the jar looks like it will last several months, so I would happily repurchase to pair them together, as well as look to try other products in the Lancôme Advanced Génifique range.

Be aware of potential for irritation

****I purchased this Lancome eye cream but unfortunately, it caused my eyes to non-stop tear and burn (I had never had any kind of allergies in my life). I had to discontinue use due to the significant discomfort it caused. While I appreciate the brand's reputation, I would caution others to be aware of the potential for irritation and suggest patch testing before use.****(I wish I had read the ingredients before purchasing (I did not because I trusted this brand) as I used a few cosmetic products before).I'm surprised that why an eye cream needs to have a perfume ingredient which is extremely discouraged by dermatologists. Other ingredients that I suspect cause an allergic reaction are Alcohol denat, Chlorhexidine digluconate, Salicyloyl phytosphingosine.)

Don't recommend

I really wanted to like this and I gave it almost 4 months to see if it worked. Unfortunately it didn't, this product claims to work after 7 days and it supposed to help reduce dark circles, smooth fine lines and improve eye wrinkles. I didn't believe it would work in 7 days, but I gave it more then 6 weeks to see results. And the results were disappointing. It's expensive and not worth it. There isn't any improvement or difference with my dark circles or fine lines, given that I don't have horrible dark circles. They are caused by lack of sleep due to having a baby. I don't recommend this eye cream. Try a less expensive one that might give better results.

Miracle worker

This cream is the first I've come across that actually helps dark under eyes bags. Genetics blessed me with dark circles- you can see them in childhood photos. That, coupled with age, left me searching for the perfect concealer to no avail. This stuff is a miracle in a jar; there's days when I don't even wear concealer. Never thought that would happen. I use morning and night, following up my night routine with a face oil due to living in a dry climate and having very sensitive skin in this area. Other than it being extremely expensive, it's so worth it. First photo is before use, second a few days in, third over a week of using. Holy moly.

I really would like that Lacome would listen to their loyal customers. Apparently in their desire to introduce new products, they discontinued the ones that absolutely work. I used Progress eye cream for more than 30 years. It was, I'd better say it has been and will be the best eye cream I've ever used. After Progress was discontinued,I've used CDior, Chanel and even the new Lancome eye creams. Nothing compares to Progress. We, the loyal customers are begging you to bring it back and Lancome keeps on ignoring our requests. Everybody, throughout the years has asked me what eye cream had done the wonders and my answer has always been,Progress, but it is gone.
