Lancome - Clarifique Dual Essence - 150ml

I am so thankful to Beautycrew for allowing me to trial the absolutely amazing Lancôme Clarifique Dual Essence. The name of the product tells you what the essence is about, it’s a Bi-phase liquid packed full of lipids that clarifies the skin. Perfect! Application is very easy, give the bottle a shake and pour a small amount into your palm then press gently into your face and neck. When you shake the bottle the built in whisk mixes the two formulas together giving you the perfect ratio needed. After patting in to my skin the essence takes about 20 seconds to absorb, then I follow with my serums, eye cream and moisturiser. After almost 6 weeks of use I have definitely seen results, and significant ones at that. My pores have almost completely disappeared, my skin is brighter, tighter, softer, clearer and smoother. The shine that I’ve had on my forehead for the last fifteen years has gone and for that reason alone I’ll continue to purchase. What surprised me is upon application there is a fragrance, but it is claimed to be a fragrance free formula. I have very sensitive skin that is allergic to artificial fragrance and amazingly I had ZERO reaction. I love the glass bottle, much better for our planet which in turn makes me happy. My only negative, which is super tiny, is the silver coating on the lid started to flake off after about 4 weeks and transferred onto my face. It was very easy to remove, but obviously I’d prefer it to not happen. I have sensitive, combination skin going through the menopausal changes.

Received 3 - mini bottles of 10ML each for a trial. It was enough time for about 10-11 days of doing morning and night. I note, that in steps/instructions it states that it takes 4 weeks to show results, so it's a tiny bit possible some results may have appeared if was able to review it longer. However, I find it unlikely as the only thing I noticed was it made my skin drier (my skin is already dry) and I found I had to moisturise more often than I usually do. It was the first time I was using an essence and it seems now, that at least for this version it's an unnecessary expensive step. It's possible alcohol being that high of an ingredient just wasn't conducive for my skin to react positively. Overall, I much prefer other Lancome products I've tried such as the Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Serum, which I did find worked/had results. After trialling this product for 4 weeks I can't give it the glowing endorsement I was hoping to be able to provide but would definitely recommend giving it a go if it's in your budget. If the price tag is a little expensive for your there are other products you could try without having to break the bank for this one. First impressions are great - the packaging is luxurious and has an air of sophistication, but at $150+ a bottle you'd expect nothing less. The bottle includes large "wand" to help mix the product when youre ready to use, but does little else to help you get the product from bottle to face - as you had to take the lid off completely and tip into your hands - perhaps a pump style applicator would add something. That said a little goes a really long way and this bottle could easily last months. Over the four weeks I trialled the product I did notice an improvement in my skin - there was a reasonably visible reduction in my pores and my skin did feel brighter. I did have some breakouts but couldn't definitely pin them on this product (although it was the only new item in my skincare lineup). What leaves me wanting however is the price. This is an extremely expensive product that still needs to be combined with other skincare products to form a wholesome routine. I did see some improvement and for that it's worth trialling, I'll definitely finish using the bottle but it's probably not a product I would purchase again at this price-point.
