Lancome - Hypnose Doll Eyes Waterproof Mascara

I am a mascara fiend and enjoy trying out different types of mascaras from different brands because you never know what products will surprise you and become your new favourite. With that said, I can always come back to my most trusted and well-loved mascaras by Lancome. One of my favourites is their Hypnose Doll Eyes because the combination of the brush plus the formula is perfect for creating beautiful, fluttery eyelashes every single time. One of my favourites is their Hypnose Doll Eyes because the combination of the brush plus the formula is perfect for creating beautiful, fluttery eyelashes every single time. Now I have been purchasing this mascara for years now and it has been consistent throughout. The wand is the key to grabbing onto all the lashes and coating them to make it appear more dense. All those little hairs in the inner corner of your eye are easily coated with this brush as it's tapered towards the front. Towards the middle and end of the brush is where the bristles are a bit wider so when you use the brush, you are able to effectively grab your lashes all at once. I always get it in black as the colour makes my lashes look noticeable. The formula is also really important as you want it to the perfect consistency, not too runny so that you're left with wet lashes that can transfer and yet not too thick that it leaves your lashes looking clumpy. The wand helps to lift and curl the lashes while the formula gives it length as well as volume. The brush coats each lash evenly so you're left with even looking lashes. One of the main reasons why I really adore this mascara is that I have no issues with fallout. It's one of my biggest gripes with mascaras and it's not only with drugstore brands. I have seen it happen with some other high end mascaras I have purchased which was rather disappointing because a lot of times we equate expensive products with being better quality but that isn't necessarily the case. The Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes doesn't flake, smudge or leave any fallout behind so I don't have to worry about finding dark crumbs all over my face. It is waterproof which means this mascara will last all day long so it's a prime choice for special occasions and days when the weather may be rainy or very hot and humid. While I mostly use this mascara for my top lashes I do also like to use it on my lower lashes. The brush makes it easy to coat all the hairs and enhance my eye look. In terms of price, it is quite expensive to fork over that type of money on a mascara but I do believe that the quality makes it worth it. I don't have to rely on any other mascara or use it in conjunction with other mascaras because it provides length, volume and longevity.

A little goes a long way

This mascara is great, I usually curly my eyelashes because they are so straight normal mascaras can’t hold them but I don’t need to with this mascara. It dries quickly and keeps the curls from the wand in place. You can also build it up for a more impactful look or just once for a nice day time one. Also it is really waterproof and lasts all day. I had to use olive oil to remove it in the evening as my cleanser isn’t strong enough.

Awesome Mascara

This is one of the best mascaras I have ever purchased. I used to buy this at Macy's years ago and for whatever reason, stopped buying it. I found this on QVC -- both approximate same price -- it's been sitting in my drawer since last year -- unopened and I put it on for the first time in ages. I work remotely so tend to not wear makeup anymore -- thanks Covid!!! What an amazing product, just as I remembered it. My lashes are long, not clumpy and just so happy with this product.I have tried several different varieties of IT mascara and am so disappointed in their mascara. That being said, I love their moisturizers and brow products and shadows and BB cremes, and their gorgeous brushes, etc., but the mascara is ALWAYS dry and clumpy.So I would recommend. Favourite mascara

I've been using this for a while now and have tried several other Lancome ones (minis) but this one stands out for me. Really does add length and volume, easy to take off with warm water compared to cheap mascaras. My favourite thing is the brush, it captures every lash and gives me a false lash effect (I do use an at-home LVL kit too) but this really accentuates the lash curl. I've had no issues with flaking or smudging and find this easy to build up volume. Wish there was more product in the tube though even though its lasted me a while! Also love the normal Hypnose mascara too.

Hate the wand

Used hypnose before and really liked it. Last time I bought doll eyes by mistake and it’s a waste of money. First of all the wand is really annoying and I can’t use it to put mascara on all the lashes without making smudges. Secondly, I feel like there is no effect of application on the lashes. Cheap brands give more effect. Not sure I’m using this wand wrong but had many mascaras in the past and never had an issue. I’ll add I have thin and spare lashes, but usual mascaras are a lot of volume easily. This one I will throw away as it’s useless

Mediocre, lengthens but doesn’t thicken at all.

I had high hopes for this mascara, but it’s very average. Definitely not better than drugstore mascara. It’s lengthening, not thickening. I don’t need length, I need volume. It also makes my eyes water from irritation, as many mascaras do. I’m trying to find a replacement for L’Oreal Voluminous, my favorite, to which I developed an allergy. Whatever I’m allergic to is in this mascara & so many others. Nothing beats Voluminous, including Dior Show, so save yourself some money and buy Voluminous - it thickens beautifully and lengthens, with zero clumps or flaking, and it has the perfect brush. I’m so bummed I can’t use it anymore.

Nice Mascara but Heavily Scented

I've used Lancome mascaras for years. I've especially loved Hypnose and Hypnose Drama and before that Immencils. I wear contact lenses and my eyes are sensitive. Besides the great quality of Lancome mascaras, one of the reasons I've been so loyal to them is that they never irritate my eyes. This one did. As soon as you take the brush out of the tube, there is a heavy rose scent. Who wants scent on their eyes? It's so bizarre. I was ok during the day, but when I took if off with Lancome Bifacils, my eyes swelled up. The next day my eyes are still swollen and itchy. Lancome, don't scent mascara!

Product Review

The worst. It came with very little actual product. Brush gives you big hunks of eyelash sections, I looked crazy. My eyelashes looked more sparse, like I had plucked out half. Product dries hard although it's not waterproof. If you want this 3 chunk eyelash look (without hours of brushing/smudging/reapplying) go to drug store. Very disappointing.

The BEST mascara

I've been using this mascara for years. I switched to a drugstore brand recently bc it was considered a dupe for a different brand of mascara. It did not hold a candle to this. This mascara does not transfer to your lid and doesn't clump at all even when using it in multiple layers. I love the tapered style of the brush as well. I don't know what it is technically supposed to do but in my opinion it thickens while also lengthening your lash. I've also tried Definicils and Doll Lash thickens the lashes much more. It is expensive but you get what you pay for.

fell in love

Tried the travel size version of this before buying the full sized one, I FELL IN LOVE AFTER ONE USE! I look like i had a lash life and tint and it held up the WHOLE day! (I did use the CT setting spray w it) but wow it smells q nice, but not overpowering, its not clumpy, and it doesnt smudge easily. Only issue wld be to be careful right aft application, as it takes some time to dry. However, do take note this is not for u if u prefer a bold look, its rather natural, as it lengthens and thickens rather than giving extreme volume.
