Just got my hands on this discontinued beauty. This is a beautiful vanilla fragrance that is not purely gourmand or floral or fruity. It’s way more complex than that. Yes, it does settle into a cozy vanilla in a dry down, but in the opening it almost smells like licorice to me. There are no notes that would make it smell like that but that is the association I get. This scent is quite hard to describe. It’s rich yet soft, unique yet inoffensive. I can see it becoming a bit too much of oversprayed, or become less of an easy reach. I wouldn’t call it an everyday kind of a scent, but it’s a banger for a date night or a special occasion.

I was introduced to Poeme in Puerto La Cuz Venezuela in 1997 I believe. I was taken immediately and have worn this wonderful, complimentary fragrance ever since. I have introduced to several of my gal pals and they also love it. I am so disappointed in Lancomes choise to remove this product from their line. I cannot find the perfume, body lotion or jel in any of my usual stores and the lotion and jel I cant find anywhere. What are you thinking I am hoping that with enough of the ladies writing that you will rethink your poor descision. I can not think of another Lancome product that I would purchase if this goes through. I have just started using your other skin care products and will stop using them also as I will have no need to go to the Lancome counter. Please ... However, Lancôme’s stubbornness discounting the classics such as hypnose and Poeme, while focusing in creating an innumerable list of flankers of other scents is very disappointing. I still love the newer scents such as Tresor (the original) and I love the newest releases but if they keep discontinuing what we (decades long customers) love and have made us loyal to this brand for years , I will have to start looking somewhere else ... bought this perfume as a blind buy and I do NOT regret it one bit!!!!! it pairs so well with my body chemistry, and it makes me feel like I smell luxurious. something about the passion flower and the way it dries down into a vanilla scent...it's just so beautiful to me. and don't get me started. on the unique bottle shape! this is the ONLY floral scent I love currently and they better not discontinue this; it's easily my signature springtime scent!!!!
