Lancome La Vie Est Belle Iris Absolu 100ml

Finally!! I can't believe I'm typing these words but somehow Lancôme got one fragrance right. I don't like their original La Vie Est Belle or any of the other flankers of the scent so I wasn't terribly excited to try Iris Absolu - it's a pleasant surprise to say the least. There's absolutely no nauseating overdose of syrupy sweetness and hodge-podge of florals to trigger a migraine. Iris Absolue is just that - iris to the very core, long-lasting, elegant, mature in the most sophisticated of ways - a head turner for sure. Decent sillage, decent longevity, criminal price tag. I don't necessarily need this in my collection (especially since I've been working my way through Prada Iris Absolute for a few years now) but wouldn't turn my nose up if I received one as a ... MoreFinally!! I don't necessarily need this in my collection (especially since I've been working my way through Prada Iris Absolute for a few years now) but wouldn't turn my nose up if I received one as a gift. It's a solid scent if you like a warm iris.

I was so so excited to receive this perfume in my Lancôme Voxbox, unfortunately, it’s not one I see myself ever wearing. This is definitely a strong punch in the face once sprayed so I would say two sprays is definitely enough. When it’s first sprayed, there is a strong l musky Iris floral scent ( I guess would be the best way i can explain it) that to be honest, makes me nauseous. I’ve smelt the same note and another perfume before (I believe it was the miss dior one) and I’m really not a fan. I could tell that the perfume had levels to it, one level being the very powdery smell, and under it there being a sweet one. The only reason why I’m giving this perfume three stars is because after about an hour of being on my skin that powdery scent went away, and it became just that very sweet scent, which I liked. I’m also giving at three stars because of the beautiful bottle,  which has some nice intricate details such as an engraved flower on the bottle cap. Unfortunately though, it’s just not for me so I passed it on to my mom who isn’t that big of a fan but she likes it more than I do. 

Amazing scent, quality, and longevity of scent

This Lancme La Vie Est Belle Iris Absolu Eau De Parfum has become my absolute favorite perfume. Starting off with the bottle, it looks elegant and fancy, and it sure looks expensive. The top has the traditional lancome flower on it too. The perfume is amazing! Strong Iris and Jasmine notes hit me first and keep the way to sweet smelling figs. The smell of the iris is beautiful and delicate but lasts long. Summer might feel the perfume is a bit strong, and I get that, but it doesn't stay as strong after a few minutes. But the longevity of this is great. I applied this in the morning, and I could still smell hints of it on my wrists the next morning. Amazing scent, quality, and longevity

Best fragrance of 2023

I received the sample for the Iris Absolu at the end of this summer, sprayed it on the blotter and to be honest, didn’t think much of it. Revisited it end of September, tried it on the skin this time and fell in love with it. It is vanilla, iris, some other notes I can not name, dries down to softest and most pleasant confection sugar powder. Very beautiful, very modern, very uplifting. Will cheer me on through the cold midwestern season. This is my very first La vie belle flanker love. It was sold out already on this site, ordered the biggest bottle elsewhere and have been reaching out for it a couple of weeks every day now. Keep up the good work!

Enjoyed by two generations! Beautiful bottle for display

For the past couple of years, my daughter and I have been trading fragrances we've purchased for ourselves. I'd have said our similar DNA would cause a fragrance to smell the same or close to it on each of us, but that's not been the case. It's been more likely that she or I would try a new scent, not like it, and then pass to the other who would love it. The fragrance exchange harmony ended with this Lancome La Vie Est Belle Iris Absolu fragrance ;-) I'm not going to pretend that I can pick out all the notes of this scent. I just know that it smells amazing, and I don't feel like I'm walking around in a cloying cloud of perfume. It goes on a little stronger at first but quickly melds into a nice classy scent that I've truly enjoyed wearing. We're very pleased with our choice!

I have an unhealthy love for all La Vie Est Belle Flankers, and was #GIFTEDBYLANCOME a sample thru a facebook ad. I was thrilled, and was super excited when I received it in the mail. I own many flankers and have back ups stored in a cool place. I buy any new flanker blindly plus a back up. I had every intention of buying this blindly, but I received my sample fairly quickly and sprayed it immediately. I love this new flanker, and will be purchasing a bottle plus a back up because air couldn’t stop smelling my wrist. If I keep circling back and sniffing my wrist like a psycho it is a keeper. Incredible, fashionable scent.

La Vie est Belle is a wonderful new perfume that reminds me of some of the less sweet, more floral scents that were popular in the '90s and before. It contains different types of flower essences and other ingredients, and it is truly one of a kind while also having a very familiar, fashionable odor. The product comes in a very lovely, unique glass container, everything is high quality and well made, and the product's fragrance is very long-lasting. Some of the high notes will dissipate after a couple hours but even at the end of the day there is the sense of this fragrance remaining. Overall it is an absolute classic, I can see it really catching on, and I can almost smell the copycats that are sure to be created based on this instant classic! So nice!

Lovely Scent, Pretty Bottle

At first I thought it was very strong smelling but once applied the scent wasn't as overwhelming, thankfully. It lasts a long time, as an eau de parfum should. It may seem pricey but a good quality, long lasting scent should be this price. It's smells like a warm floral aroma up front but the hint of patchouli at the end balances it nicely. People either love or hate patchouli but I think those that hate it is because it's usually too strong. This is not a strong patchouli smell at all. I think everyone can appreciate that. The spray bottle is really pretty as well and looks nice on the dresser.

Must love Iris, lipstick scent

I really enjoy the original La Vie Est Belle even though I usually do not like patchouli that much. This doesn't smell like it to me at all until the deep dry down hours later. What I get when I first spray this is lipstick. You know that smell of a fresh tube of lipstick? That is what Iris smells like. The semi sweet lipstick smell eventually blends with a hint of patchouli and vanilla. That original DNA comes through in the deep dry down, 5 hours or so later. I can still smell myself up to 6-7 hours later. Lancme always brings it with the performance. As you can see from this picture of part of my perfume collection, I am a little obsessed with fragrance. Even though I have so many, this has become one of my favorites! To my nose it's a strong, warm, powdery iris with a restrained hint of patchouli. Long lasting.

Lancome La Vie est Belle Iris Absolu Eau de Parfum (1.7 fl oz) I've been happily wearing this Iris Absolu variation of La Vie est Belle for more than two weeks. To my nose it's mostly a strong, warm, powdery iris. The fruity/gourmand notes are detectable and add complexity, but for me this Eau de Parfum is all about the very powdery iris with a restrained hint of patchouli. One (daytime) or two sprays is all I need, as this is a strong scent with the expected, excellent longevity of an Eau de Parfum (for me it's a good 9 hours). Spraying the scent from the beautiful bottle with the crystal smiles adds to the enjoyment. A true pleasure and an elegant scent that I will wear in autumn, winter, and early spring. Made in France.
