Lancome Lash Idole Waterproof Mascara

I received this free to test from Lancome Community and was delighted! I had very mixed feelings and it honestly took me a while to warm to this. I had previously been using maybeline sky high mascara, and if you use this you know its a straight brush, and this was also my daily go to mascara. So when this arrived I had issues with the brush from the start, it was big and curvy and I kept hitting my eyelid and it was a disaster.so I tried using just a straight brush so I could at least test the product. Loved the mascara, felt nice on my lashes. Was it waterproof? Well that part wasn't tested, but it did take a real good eye make up remover to take it off. I eventually got use to the original wand and big brish. Once you get the hang of it you can get right in at the root and lift the lash for a smooth application. This lasts really well. Is it a favorite? Well yes and no. I find the product overloads in the big brush and if you try to scrape some off at the top of the bottle, you create clumps. ( I created clumps, this could just be a me problem lol ). I've also realised that I really don't need waterproof mascara. I feel its thicker in consistency and on top of that it's hard work removing it. I would like to try this as a normal mascara to test the difference. I still enjoyed wearing it and thought it looked good on my lashes.

I wanted this to work, but...

Lancome's original formula Lash Idole gave me the most fluttery, perfect lashes of my life. One problem: I have hooded eyes, so typically by the end of the day, the mascara would transfer below my bottom lash line and I would have mini panda eyes. I was so hopeful that the waterproof formula would sort things out. The verdict? Although the waterproof does not transfer as much, I still get the same mini panda effect, plus the formula was incredibly difficult to take off even with my Make-Up Eraser. If you have a standard eye shape, then you will love this product. Once you get ahold of the shaped wand, this mascara gives you a very pretty, full, fluttery effect. But if you have hooded eyes, even the waterproof can't help you. Light and Airy Mascara

I usually use drugstore brand mascaras so I was so excited to try this Lancome mascara. I used it for one week straight to see how I liked this product. The best feature of this mascara is that it's so light and airy - it doesn't even feel like I'm wearing mascara and it looks so natural and no clumps! With my drugstore brand mascara, my eyelids felt like I was wearing mascara. Also, after a week, I noticed that my lashes looked a little longer or more pronounced. If you are looking for a good waterproof mascara, then this is the one for you because it doesn't smudge and it stays on all day long without giving you raccoon eyes at the end of the day. However, the drawback of waterproof is that it is difficult to take off unless you use a oil-based remover. Lovely Long, Voluminous Lashes

I have always liked Lancome products from their perfumes to their skincare line and lipsticks, but I had never tried their mascaras until now and boy am I glad I did. To start I am in love with it's curved wand. I have found that it has made it much easier for me to put on the mascara. It is just something about having that curved angle that makes it much easier to apply. Especially on the top lashes, and what about all those little bristles it says it has on the wand. Well, I that it actually might have all those 360 micro-bristles in the 90 different sizes it says as my lashes actually had more volume and were longer after applying the mascara. I was and still am impressed everytime I use it and more than that it actually last all day looking great. Just like I had just applied it. No retouch needed for me. Oh, I almost forgot, I also love that it has green tea extract in it to help condition our lashes and provide antioxidants in them as well. Which I think is something different but good for us so I really appreciate it. I for sure would buy this again and tell my family and friends about it.

My New Fave, Long, Voluminous Lashes

It is a little different seeing it as an ingredient but I really like it as it is meant to help my lashes. So far I am loving my Lancome mascara and I will buy it again for sure and will definitely share my excitement with my family and friends.

Not bad…

I’ve been using Dior’s Showstopper regular mascara for a few years and Lancôme Lash Idole Waterpoof Mascara was the first time I’ve gone astray. The Lancôme mascara was decent, but I can’t say it wowed me. It has a plastic brush/bristle applicator which I do no prefer (it’s not like the normal applicator with tons of bristles). I also got a bit of mascara on my lids/under eye when applying, but I’m assuming that’s because it was an applicator that I was not used to. It stayed on and it didn’t smudge after a few hours, but there was a bit of thickness to the application on my lashes. There was too much product on the brush I assume and the type of brush didn’t help. It gave me some volume, but not length. Very good waterproof mascara

I have worn this for the past few weeks and am ready to share my opinion with you all. It is a very good waterproof mascara. It provides some curl and length. But, not volume because it isn't a thickening type of mascara. It does define my lashes really well. I can agree it is mainly clump-free. However, on occasion it can clump a small section. It really adheres quickly so apply fast. The wand is cool but can be tricky to use if not positioned in the best position. I have not experienced any irritation from the formula. Was promised it’s great- it’s not

I wanted to buy a waterproof mascara from a John Lewis Lancôme counter, I intended to get Doll Eyes because I prefer a proper bristle brush but the rep really pressurised me to get this instead, wouldn’t hear my concerns, overrode them. Told me this would convince me to have this type of brush, that it separates, covers all lashes and the formula works. Worn it all week and it flakes, even with one coat. Really don’t know how other people say it doesn’t. I havent got it wet, sweaty or rubbed it. I also find the bristles don’t grip and cover my lashes and I end up with some thick globs in trying. This is despite trying all sections at all angles. Also NOT impressed with Lancôme responses to other reviews telling them to use it with their primer?! I’m too far away to return it, and can’t afford another one, this was supposed to be my one treat. Works well, lasts all day

I was lucky enough to receive this free to test and review. I have taken a good 5 weeks to thoroughly test this out, so let's get to it. First thought is the packaging is lovely. I love the design and colour, it looks classy. Opening the product I see the big curvy brush and it looks fantastic. This was where I had my first hurdle. The mascara I had been using for months had a plain straight brush and I had perfected how to apply and get great volume. When I first tried this lovely curvy wand, I was struggling. The shaped brush is so versatile so you can get right in and the root to add volume and the small end to get those small lashes on the edges. The only thing I wasnt too keen on was the consistency of the waterproof mascara. I find it's something I don't need. Feels thicker and heavier than a normal one, but maybe this is because I have never used a waterproof mascara before. That's really the only reason for 4 stars. If this was a non waterproof version I would be giving it 5 stars. I feel everyone needs to try this, it makes lashes look pretty!.

the best for Asian lashes

I love this mascara. I am Asian with lashes that grow straight down. I’ve tried a lot of Korean and Japanese mascaras. Although many of them hold up my curls well, they give me clumps and I’m not a big fan of clumpy lashes on myself. I originally purchased the non waterproof version and was very impressed with the brush/bristles on this wand. I love how my lashes look more defined without clumps. The shape and amount of bristles allows all my short lashes to be coated. My lashes look like a Korean actress or Korean models’. It’s not gonna give a large amount of volume or length. This waterproof one holds my curls all day long for sure. I don’t experience flaking or smudging using this.
