wanted this to work so badly, read a lot of the reviews. i even bought a smaller flange because i didnt think the fit was right and it was impacting how much milk i was getting. nope, not even with a smaller, properly fitting one did this work. with my electric one i can get 6 ounces easy - with this manual one, 1 ounce was all i was getting. maybe it will work for others? but it certainly didnt help me.(needed this as we had packed the electric pump for moving thinking we wouldnt really need it and could just make do.)

Perfect pump for traveling that is simple yet effective and gets the job done. Much easier than bringing the electric pump on shorter trips. I love that after pumping the lids feel very secure and do not spill. I do also like the idea of being able to swap the top with a bottle nipple for ease of feeding, however, I had trouble getting it screwed on appropriately without leaking. This made feeding with the same bottle not as desirable, so I did take away a star for that. Definitely still recommend if you are looking for a travel pump that doesn’t take up a lot of space and is easy to use on the go. You can control the pressure/flow to meet your own comfort. I was able to express as much milk with this as I do my spectra blue pump, and in about the same amount of time.

I feel like this item is a hit or miss. I had one of these from 4 years ago with my first and started to use with my second to build a supply. It worked great! But one of the pieces broke so I purchased a new one. This new one seems to hardly work at all! I try switching positions and placement and switching which cone I’m using but it is so difficult to get a decent suction/pull to actually get any milk out. It’s affected my supply since it hasn’t been working as well, which is disappointing. I’ll likely be trying a different brand or type of pump at this point, so disappointed it hasn’t been working with this new purchase when my older one worked so great. Too bad the store won’t accept returns on it either! Just all down the drain at this point.
My electric pump died and I am waiting 3-5 days for my replacement to be shipped under warranty. Given I still need to get the milk out… I bought this as an alternative. It worked!!! The trick is to make sure you have a good seal, and are using the correct size flange. I have flange inserts because I need a 19mm, and this was compatible with the maymom inserts I was already using in my regular pump. I replicated the stimulation and expression rhythm of my regular pump. This product worked best for me without a pumping bra, using one hand to squeeze and the other to hold against my breast ensuring good suction. I was able to express 4 oz in just under 5 min from ol’ lefty. Would I replace my regular pump with this? Any bad reviews would be from women who haven’t learned how to use it properly, or women who don’t respond well to it. Everyone’s body is different and may respond differently to any given pump. After suffering using this and putting it up for a month, I educated myself and tried again. It’s so fun for me now, I love to use this for a quick pump. Especially when I don’t want to break out my Elvie/Spectra/or Lansinoh wearable. Also, most companies are still giving horrible flange size options, I recommend measuring yourself correctly and ordering the compatible Maymom flanges on Amazon!
I bought this to test and see how much I could get from a manual pump vs my electric pump. I thought it could be a decent solution if I was out and about and needed to pump for comfort. While it does have surprisingly good suction, the included flanges are wayyyy too large for most women. Because the flanges are so huge, it causes a lot of pain/discomfort and decreases the output. With my electric pump, I can get up to 260mL in 20-30 minutes. With the manual, I did 15 minutes per side and only got 90mL. I also found that my hands were constantly cramping up because the handle isn’t very comfortable to hold and operate. If this were offered with appropriately sized flanges, I’d say this was a good buy. The flange is comfortable… And it's pretty purple, that is all the nice things I have to say. Holding the pump is very uncomfortable, I have to use two hands to keep suction while pumping. It does not pivot, so you have to contort your body, breast, and nipple to get into the right position. My last pump was by Amita, and it pivoted, which was really nice. My other big complaint, is it only holds certain bottles… standard bottles do not fit. The suction is OK but not great. I got it on sale for $20 and it will just be my emergency back up.

So ladies definitely save yourself some money, and a headache, and invest in one of these it was a life saver in my busy schedule; I used to bring it with me to BOTH jobs as I had a daytime job, and part time night job, long road trips to express in the car while my baby was sleeping, and pretty much anywhere I had to be for long periods of time. I moved recently, and a small part got lost, so I’ll be needing another one, but I’ll definitely be a returning customer of Lasinoh and their awesome products!
I bought this pump after birth because I had the intention to formula feed but to my surprise, this 3rd baby decided to latch! That being said, my daughter is just over a month old and this hand pump did great at the start, it would empty what I was producing, easy to use and easy to store. After a little over a months usage the pump started to squeak and started being harder to use. All the parts are dry and secure and it still does it. I also feel like it doesn't empty me out anymore. It's so unfortunate, I feel like this thing did better than my electrical pump! I still want to reach for it since it was so convenient to use. I just wish the lifespan was longer!
