These nipple shields are so great. I have breastfeed four of my kids and with this fifth baby my right nipple became inverted and I was really upset it was going to prevent me from being able to breastfeed, but a friend of mine told me about these nipple shields and it worked wonders on my nipple. I won’t lie getting use to the feeling was a little weird at first for myself and the baby, but once we both got past it the shield really worked. The silicone texture is very thin and super soft. My baby was able to still feed as if she was latched to my nipple normally. Very easy to wash and the price was very reasonable. Definitely glad I was told about these and able to still continue my breastfeeding journey with my little.

Without these, my baby would have never learned to breastfeed. These helped him learn to latch because he refused to nurse without them at first since I have such a flat shape. He’s finally able to not use the shields after 3 weeks! I would recommend these to any mom whose baby is struggling to nurse. It gives them enough area to grab and it’s deep enough for the latch to be correct. These saved us and I will forever recommend them!

The thin flexible material sticks to my breast well and the cut out shape allows my baby to still be skin to skin, which is very important in the beginning days to establish milk supply! I have previously tried shields of a different brand, so I have a comparison to go off of. The Lansinoh brand sticks well to the skin, where other brands peel up and fall off easily. The cut out shape is perfect so the shield does not get stuck to my baby’s nose while he is nursing. The nipple shape of the Lansinoh nipple shield was not my baby’s favorite. Compared to another brand, the Lansinoh nipple shield nipple is short and a little squared off. My baby seemed to prefer a longer rounder nipple.A huge concern for me, especially during a pandemic, is germs. I really liked the carrying case that came with the Lansinoh nipple shields. It made things feel clean and I could be sure that the shield was hygienic before using it. As a mom on the go, it is helpful to have the carrying case to stick in my diaper bag and protect the shields from germs, dirt and crumbs from my bag.Overall, the Lansinoh nipple shields have been very helpful in nurturing mine and my baby’s breastfeeding relationship. The material, cut out shape and carrying case are all huge positives that have made me suggest these to my pregnant friends.

After having a newbie for 14days who sometimes latches correctly (Areola in mouth-faster flow and nipple only-slow flow) my nipples were on fire!!! After using ointments, creams and even sprays I couldn’t get anything that worked. I came across these and man have they changed the game. I do have to wet them and then stick or put an ointment on to keep them in place. One thing I would recommend is that the attachment part should cover the entire areola which would be better to keep it in place and not allow it to pop off while sucking….It took him a little time to adjust to the “feeling” but I can say it’s working. I got 24mm and it’s a little big. I am definitely buying the 20mm which should fit better. I can still feel when he latches which is good and let’s me ... MoreAfter having a newbie for 14days who sometimes latches correctly (Areola in mouth-faster flow and nipple only-slow flow) my nipples were on fire!!! I would recommend these for sure.
My baby wasn't latching well so I got these and the good thing is it help him latch. But I could tell he wasn't getting enough milk, he would fall asleep on the breast from being tired of sucking. One thing I was never told is that it could decrease milk supply due to not a deep enough latch and that's exactly what happy with me. I've been using them for 3 weeks, my baby is 2 1/2 months and my supply is low and baby is fussy from not being full. The product is okay. I use them as directed but they still slip around and curve off of the breast while baby is latched. REMEMBER: this is only a short term solution, do not use too long or your supply will plummet.
My baby had a terrible latch and caused a lot of nipple damage right away. As soon as I got home from the hospital I ordered these nipple shields. While they did help with the healing process, I can’t give 5’stars. They are awful at staying on! I did all the tricks to help them suction to my skin and they didn’t work. If baby moved their head in any way latching on, they would fall off. Extremely frustrating for a mom already in incredible pain just trying to help her baby get a good latch. The results were an even angrier hungry baby. Which just makes latching that much more difficult. However, like I said, once baby was able to latch, these did help with the pain and eventual healing of my nipples.
I was given these Nipple Shields to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, however I had already purchased these twice before!I had no idea what nipple shields were before I had my first daughter. I was introduced to them by a lactation specialist in the hospital when my daughter was leaving bruises and marks all over me after trying to get her to latch properly. We ended up discovering she had a severe upper lip tie that was preventing her from flipping her lip out correctly. We continued to use these nipple shields until we were able to get her lip corrected. These saved me from giving up on breastfeeding and made it more comfortable for both of us.When I found out I was pregnant again, I ordered these again to put in my hospital bag this time. These saved me from giving up on breastfeeding and made it more comfortable for both of us.When I found out I was pregnant again, I ordered these again to put in my hospital bag this time. I wanted to have them from the very beginning, if needed. This time my second daughter spent time in the NICU, starting with a feeding tube and then using a bottle. When I was able to start breastfeeding, she struggled to latch. Again, the lactation specialist suggested using a nipple shield as it was more like the nipple of a bottle. She was able to latch and we were gradually able to stop using the shield as she gained her strength. There are countless reasons why your little and you might benefit from the use of a nipple shield. I find myself continuing to recommend them to new moms and explaining why they should bring them to the hospital, just in case. They are inexpensive, so even if you don’t end up needing them it is not a great expense. But if you do need them, you will be happy to have them right from the start!
I didn't anticipate I would have any problems breastfeeding, but I have very sensitive nipples and the bad latch in the hospital did damage which took weeks to heal. My pediatrician recommended these. When I finally discovered these during the healing process, they worked like a charm. I had ordered the medela version but they were taking forever to arrive, like ten days, and I was struggling to breastfeed and pump which each day going without the nipple shield was excruciating and stressful and hurting my supply. Another mom friend gave me these that she had on hand while I waited for the medela ones and they worked amazing. Another mom friend gave me these that she had on hand while I waited for the medela ones and they worked amazing. They are much thinner than they look and when the medela finally arrived, my baby and I didn't like them-the silicone was thicker and the conical shape of the nipple was weird. I immediately ordered more of these Lansinoh ones to have anywhere around the house that I would breastfeed. I didn't know what to expect or how they worked by looking at photo, but they are very thin, almost like a second skin, and you just put it over your own and it acts like a passable membrane and allows your newborn to latch properly. Honestly, I wish I would have had these before I gave birth and brought them with me to the hospital. It would have saved me a lot of pain and suffering and I probably wouldn't be having the difficulty of doing everything I can now to build my milk supply back up. I really wish they had these in every hospital and that every lactation consultant had these on hand. Even if you don't think you have sensitive nipples, I would buy these if you've never breastfed. They are relatively inexpensive and good to have on hand. Don't wait until after the baby to order them! I used them for a couple of weeks and now that my nipples are healed I don't need to use them at all.
My son has a tongue tie and had latching difficulties. First few days in the hospital my nipples were sore and had blood blisters. I would cry when breastfeeding and even gave up for a few days and switched to pumping. I got these as a gift and he instantly latched. No more pain! These have helped me so much. I’m now able to breastfeed my son with the shields and am slowly working on feeding him without. These are so nice to have and definitely recommend if you are having latching trouble or just need a break because your nipples are sore/cracked/etc. I tried a different brand at the hospital and they did not work for me. Lansinoh all the way. Also love that it comes with two and a case!
Personally, these nipple shields had some clear pros and cons, definitely more pros though. I feel like the shield itself is thin enough that it becomes an easy extension and attaches fine. It took a few tries for my son to latch but once he did he was able to nurse well with it. The shield is comfortable and did help as a barrier for my torn up nipples, as well it helped my son with his latch in general. I loved the idea of the cut off top to increase skin to skin and increase my son’s ability to smell me, however, it also felt like that might have been the reason it moved around and would slide. That was really the only issue I had with it, was that it would slide around occasionally when I was trying to get my son latched. I love that these shields comes with a case and that it’s a pack of two though. In the past I’ve used shields and my biggest pet peeve was that I didn’t have something to properly carry it in so I would have to worry about fibers getting on it if it weren’t in a bag. The case is perfect, I don’t have to stress about the shields getting gross or covered in anything and it’s easy to find them in my diaper bag when I’m on the go. Overall, I would recommend these shields, the convenience of having a carrying case and the benefits of skin to skin and scent carried is greater than the occasional sliding. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with these nipple shields.
