A good filtered bottle. However......

Let me start off by saying that this a great filtered water bottle. I've had many filtered water bottles over time and the taste of this one is probably the better tasting one so far. The look of this bottle is very nice. The weight of the bottle is a lot heavier than most. I have small hands so when I fill it up, it's quite heavy. I did purchase the sleeve to go with this bottle and it does help. The filter inside is bigger than most filters and when you fill up the bottle you can only fill it half way or the water will overflow. I feel that I'm getting the whole 25oz. It's hard to tell how much water to fill it up to before it will overflow once you put the filter inside. All in all, this is a good bottle. I'll keep using it.

First of all, this water bottle is absolutely *beautiful* and convenient (fits in all cup holders). That being said, the filtration straw does impede flow when you are drinking and takes up valuable space in the bottle itself, which is to be expected, I suppose. Also, I made the mistake of ordering the non-insulated version, due to the larger volume it would hold, so my water doesn’t stay cold and there isn’t enough volume/space for adding ice to be practical. Overall, I do love my Larq bottle for use during the day while I work, but find myself going back to using my other big-brand water bottles for my bedside and the gym (or any time I want a big, cold drink). I also wish they would add the insulated option with larger volume and easier water flow as you drink. I would even sacrifice the size/ability to keep it in a cup holder for any combination of these features. If you only have access to unfiltered tap water and want an aesthetically pleasing water bottle that filters for you, I highly recommend. If you get big-time thirsty and flow rate matters, I would say that other options may be better. All of that being said, I’ve had a Larq since the very first version came out and I am excited to see the direction they are going.

The build quality is good and it is easy to use. The water tastes great and although I did not personally check how well it filtered contaminants like PFA's, I trust that it did the job. Great for traveling. The clip is convenient when you're going hiking or just need to have your bottle with you (I clip it to my purse). The straw is comfortable and the design looks great. Highly recommend if you're wary of endocrine disruptors in water. If you want to filter water for coffee, teas, soups, etc, then you'd have to get the pitcher. Also, would be great if there was a way to re-mineralize the water, but the bottle is a standalone system that relies on the straw to filter the water.

Good but can be improved
12 May 2023

I had very high expectations on this product given all the research I did and the advertising: some features were met, but some design flaws could be looked into as future improvement as they do not suit my personal needs. First of all, the filtering does it job and does it well (1 week of use so far): the smell of chlorine is gone from my tap water! The rest of the chemicals that I cannot taste, I trust for them to be removed the same way given the certifications provided. For the design flaws here are my comments and suggestions.1 - I wanted to have an option to get a non-insulated thinner bottle, as it is heavy and taking a lot of space out of water storage.2 - I would have liked an option for a bigger size of the bottle, more than 740 mL, as this makes me ... MoreI had very high expectations on this product given all the research I did and the advertising: some features were met, but some design flaws could be looked into as future improvement as they do not suit my personal needs. The rest of the chemicals that I cannot taste, I trust for them to be removed the same way given the certifications provided. For the design flaws here are my comments and suggestions.1 - I wanted to have an option to get a non-insulated thinner bottle, as it is heavy and taking a lot of space out of water storage.2 - I would have liked an option for a bigger size of the bottle, more than 740 mL, as this makes me have very frequent trips to refill the bottle in another office.3 - The refill process is quite messy for different reasons: to fit in most refiller, the whole cap+straw+filter body needs to be removed, and firstly it drips a lot on the ground and your hands, and the refill level has to be guessed (and not easy to see) because when placing the body back it takes out something around 40-50 mL of water, most times overflowing and dripping, or on the other hand under-filling the bottle, adding on the under-capacity and trips to refill. Overall very frustrating unfortunately.4 - I don't like that the sipping part on the top of the bottle is open to air not protected when closed and can touch everything around: if you place it in a dirty sport bag or on the ground or in a dusty place, all the dirt you will then be in your mouth when you put your lips on the sipping part, so it's a bit of a design flaw as well in my opinion, the part in touch with the lips should stay closed and protected when not in use.5 - As worker in the biotech/micro environment, I wonder what is the bacteria growth rate that accumulates over time in the filter-straw body. Even if rinsed, the cleaning process is quite clunky. I have the UV-Vis cap from another bottle, but sterilizing the bottle and water is not very user-friendly, as the straw and filter is removed (dripping around), has to be placed down somewhere while the sterilization process with the UV cap takes place (putting it down with the sipping part or the filter touching a surface, hence subject then to contamination), wait for all the sterilization time, and place it back; and this process is time consuming, considering I drink at least 5-6 bottles every day. And it will most sterilize the straw and filter. Or, I gather water first in the UV bottle, sterilize it, and then pour it into the filter bottle. Again, quite time consuming and not user-friendly. A future step for LARQ could be integrating the UV sterilization into the filtration bottle into a product that does all together and requires minimal maintenance and has all the benefits, that would be amazing. Something similar to what is already in use for the LARQ pitcher for example (filtration+sterilization).6 - Minor note: the rubber-covered metal hook integrated is a bit big, to the point of interfering with the unscrewing process, so I removed it for ease of use given the frequent refilling and twisting back and forthIdeally, my ideally desired product would be a bigger non-insulated (thinner) filtered bottle with a UV sterilisation part alongside the filtration system, that does the whole process in the same bottle and is also effective at stopping bacteria growth on the filter and bottle as well.

Great bottle!
27 February 2023

I read almost every review before finally deciding to go for it. I ordered the pure vis cap to go with it because I wanted the benefit of both the water filtration and the sterilization of the bottle. As I anticipated it is clunky to switch between both, so I don’t use the cap to sterilize the water every time I fill my bottle but I do use it once a day to sterilize my bottle which makes me feel better between washes. 4 stars because I feel like they could find a way to incorporate the two like they do with the water pitcher. I also give this bottle 4 stars because I feel like the larger capacity bottle ,32 ounces, should come with an insulated option. I also give this bottle 4 stars because I feel like the larger capacity bottle ,32 ounces, should come with an insulated option. I would have preferred the larger bottle but I wanted the insulation so I settled for the 25oz bottle. At this price point I was reluctant to settle but I do still think it’s worth it because it is quick to fill up my bottle from the tap so it’s not as annoying to have to fill it more often. I used to carry around a 40oz yeti bottle and hated that it drained my Brita pitcher every time I filled it, because refilling the Brita pitcher is a chore, and I’m lazy but I drink a ton of water. Many reviewers said the straw was hard to drink out of, but I disagree. I find it just as easy to sip from as a regular straw. One draw back of a straw is that you do need the bottle to be upright to drink so I can’t have lazy sips laying down in bed but I guess it’s better to sit up to drink water anyway.Reviewers also commented about customer service being lacking and I will say, I reached out to them with a handful of questions prior to purchase and waited over a week with no response. I finally got impatient and just ordered the bottle and a few days after I finally heard back from them. I can understand that they are not a large company and likely have many people to respond to, but a quicker turn around time for customer inquiries would be nice. They did however credit me after the fact a 10% discount because I signed up for emails and also never received the coupon code that was promoted for doing just that. So I was pleased that they did that even after I made the purchase. Finally I do love the look of this bottle it’s sleek and feels good and the engraving makes it look really sharp. I also love the carabiner attached to the cap for easy carrying. I’m overall very happy with my bottle but hope that in the future they will come out with a larger insulated bottle with a filtering straw and the pure vis cap combined. That would be the 5 star worthy dream.

Great design less than average taste
2 February 2023

I think the bottle design is beyond. Hand feel and elegance, just excellent. But several reviewers mentioned that it did little to change water taste. And that was exactly my experience. I am NOT saying this might be filtering bad stuff out perfectly. BUT if you are hoping for this to improve the taste somehow because of the filtering? My experience is that it does not. I have used it at home, in airports and at hotels. No go! It will not become my home water bottle without the filter and a normal length straw. I have found a superior alternative!

The almost perfect bottle
7 December 2022

The build quality is amazing as you’d expect from LARQ and the filtration works fab. Will stay a true LARQ fan forever probably as their after sales services are just as good as their product. The last start I would have given if there was a line to indicate how far you can fill up the bottle as it’s quite hard to guess with the filter going in.And I must admit I don’t know how to difficult it is to engineer but you have to **** quite a bit to get out of the water. Not too bad though but a little harder than expected.Would still 100% recommend buying. Just fill the bottle over a sink as you will overfill it more often than not.

Misses the mark. The filter seems to work well and the bottle is nice, but the straw doesn't fold all the way back down into the cap and will sometimes leak. This is my only issue with the product itself, but at this price point, I expect the bottle to be watertight. Product aside, the return policy is overly restrictive in my opinion and takes way too long (it took 34 days to receive a refund after submitting a return request). Please also be aware that LARQ only accepts "unused LARQ products within 30 days of their purchase date". I'm guessing this means you won't be eligible for a refund if your straw turns out defective like mine did. I'm guessing this means you won't be eligible for a refund if your straw turns out defective like mine did. For context, I ordered the "LARQ Bottle Filtered Set with PureVis™ Cap", but the two parts of the order were delivered on different days. I needed the whole set before I left for a backcountry trip, but all I had was the LARQ Bottle PureVis™ Cap, so I ordered another LARQ Bottle Filtered on Amazon and shipped it to where I'd be traveling. The LARQ Bottle Filtered I had ordered from their website was delivered to my house after I left for the trip, so I decided to just return the one from LARQ when I got back and use/keep the one from Amazon. However, in order to start a warranty claim, I was told that I needed to register the product first using a code underneath the bottle. This meant that I couldn't begin the process until I returned home from my trip. I did so, submitting the warranty claim within the 30-day timeframe, but emailing back and forth took 7 days, pushing me outside the 30-day window. Fortunately, after a long email explaining my situation, the LARQ team was accommodating and let me know that I was still eligible for a refund. It did take 22 days to receive a refund after I sent in the product for inspection, but this could be USPS or the supply chain's fault rather than LARQ's fault. This product might definitely be for some people, but if you're considering it, make sure you're willing to accept the risk of a faulty straw/cap with no possibility for a refund. Otherwise, it's a solid product that just seems to need a bigger customer support team and a few tweaks to the straw design. Just my two cents! P.S. LARQ UX team, please fix the review box! It bounces up and down every time I type a new character :) Also please allow .heic photo uploads! I tried converting from .heic to .jpeg which worked for me, but this issue might be stopping people from uploading photos.

Useless filter
24 May 2023

The water taste terrible after the filter. Even without the filter, just from the drinking cap, it tastes bad. If I drink directly from the bottle it's mostly fine, slight metallic taste. I'm using Swedish water to begin with, the cap & filter makes it way worse. Also, because it works with a straw, the bottle needs to be half filled to drink.Another thing, when you completely fill the bottle and put the filter back in the water spills, because the filter takes place. There should be some marking.Main issue is taste though.

I was thinking for over a Month if I should buy this product. After thinking I personally did because I thought this would replace all water bottles.Pro:- Great design! I love it- Well built its extremely well built- carabiner works wellCons:- Sipping is EXTREMLY hard - if you really want to drink big sips your basically have to hurt your mouth by ******* very hardly.- I don’t taste a significant difference in the taste of waterPersonally I dont use it anymore since it’s super unconvienent to **** this hard to get a tiny bit of water if you are really thirsty.
