2nd Vis2 - 2nd Round of Larq Problems
I got this second unit as a backup, given the errors/defects I've read about among other reviewers. The last thing I need is an emergency situation and being unable to have clean/safe water. My order arrived with the entire box and contents smelling strongly like Gain or some other super strong laundry detergent chemical fragrance, of which I'm extremely sensitive to. I invest in water purification for health and safety reasons, and NOT to expose myself to additional PFAS/Carrier Chemicals/Artificial Fragrances that infuse all of the fabrics/packing materials, and plastics of this newly arrived device. Had similar issues with the first one.The battery life on my first one isn't that great. I was under the impression it would last at least a week, but it died ... I was under the impression it would last at least a week, but it died after a couple of days of use after initially charging full.No android app for 2nd Generation product is shameful and is an example of how most features/implementations of tech for this company is an afterthought.I purchased several add-on items recommended during the purchase so I could have the active Carbiener, silicone bottom protector, and an insulated carrying sleeve--ALL of these are too small and not the right size for the larger Larq Vis2 bottle. The time and hassle of navigating the slow customer support emails I tend to get from Larq, and the lack of concern/help I've been shown in my previous communications/questions, I now see this as a financial hit I just need to swallow after spending quite a bit to have the "perfect" every day carry and emergency backup. What a disappointment for a company with only a couple of models/products fail at ensuring they both provide matching/universal accessories, ensure the customer doesn't get suggested/buy the wrong accompanying accessory that doesn't fit, that has poor customer service turn around and unclear communication/assistance, and do not create an universally accessible app for both main phone ecosystems by the time its 2nd generation product is shipping to customers. All this points to cutting costs (which is strange since IndieGogo campaigns save on funding costs associatd with traditional investment options), while also ******** over the people who both rush to buy thier latest products, and also who have supported and invested in their company as a funder. What a disappointting experience for a product I thought was the best on the market. I'm looking into other companies who aren't charging so much for technology that is added onto a 3rd party LifeStraw filter. Not a customer focused company, an effective, or helpful one at all.... A great "Smart" Water Bottle!
This is a great version of what a smart water bottle should look like. Not only does it help you clean the water using UV light automatically every 2 hours (give or take?), but you can also do it whenever by manually pressing a button at the top of the lid. You can also do it from the LARQ mobile app when your phone is near the bottle! Moreover, the bottle can track how much you have drank from it each day and will provide insights/data in the app.Overall, this bottle was worth the money I spent on it, and I have not encountered any issues so far after using it for about a week. The battery also lasts long enough I would say. I usually charge it when I can, but I can see it lasting at least a week, maybe longer as I believe it said 2-3 weeks in its product ... Game-changer
I've been absolutely loving this water bottle! The purification and filtration features are top-notch, but what really takes it to another level is the tracking. It keeps me on top of my hydration goals, which is something I didn’t even realize I needed in a bottle until now.Funny story—every time I go through airport security, they stop me because they think the bottle isn’t empty (it’s a bit on the heavy side), but once they open it and see the filter, they’re blown away. When I mention it tracks my water intake too, they’re even more impressed. I think I probably convinced at least two people to get one!My husband and I both love it. It’s functional, smart, and just makes staying hydrated a breeze. Highly recommend!... Show more

Good but need an improvement
1. Instructions aren't clear. First, need a special Adapter to accommodate USB-C cable. Adapter doesn't come with.2. How to charge (just the Cap part) isn't clear.3. Unless you dig in Q&A on their website, you don't know what's normal and what's Adventure mode for.4. Filter keep falling out of sipping hole and impossible to fill the bottle without touching the filter stick. Since it doesn't tightly stays, not sure if i am drinki g filtered water 100% or just partially drinking uv sanitized water when there's gap.5. Drinking last drop of water seems impossible since the Filter doesn't touch the very bottom. Thus feels like i am drinking just uv satisfied water throughout the gap of sipping hole.... Show more

Good, but one major flaw
When Larq announced this new version, I was looking forward to getting one. Before I switched to the PureVis 2, I was using a Waatr PureMax 4D bottle, which also has a UV cap with built-in spout, and I like the convenience of being able to drink water without having to take the cap off. The only issue I had with the Waatr bottle was that even the smallest version is wider than a typical car cup holder, and I had to use a 3rd party extender to get it to fit in my car. Larq's 23oz PureVis 2 bottle has 2.93" diameter, fits in my car's cup holder, and should fit in most car cup holders. The UV function works as advertised - it stops growth of gunk and keeps your water fresh. I fill the bottle with pre-filtered water, so I don't use the filter and like that the filter is ... Battery life is very good - I'm still on the first charge, and it's been a little over 2 weeks with still 70% battery left. I don't really use the hydration tracking but have the bottle connected to the iOS app to track battery life. It is disappointing that there is still no Android app. Now, the major flaw with this product: the cap, specifically the flap that covers the mouthpiece - it has a single-piece hinge that is a bending type, as opposed to a 2-piece flip style hinge, such as how the Flip Top model is designed. I can see why the PureVis 2 cap was designed this way - it is essentially the same cap as the Swig Top model with the PureVis system built in, likely to save on costs from being modular. However, in reading reviews of the Swig Top model, I saw that a number of people had their flaps break at the hinge due to the constant strain of being bent back and forth from opening and closing in regular use. I've only been using mine for a little over 2 weeks without the hinge breaking but am concerned about its lifespan in the long term. For longevity, the cap should probably be redesigned to incorporate a 2-piece hinge, whether like the Flip Top model to have a mouthpiece that opens/closes or like other bottles that have a flap or cover that opens to reveal the mouthpiece. For the price and expectation of quality, I don't believe this is an improvement that should wait until PureVis 3 and should be addressed as soon as possible by Larq as well as providing free replacements for caps with this failure.... Good experience, but incomplete and misleading
I liked the bottle. The mouthpiece is one of the most pleasant I have tried. With this bottle I drink more water because the mouthpiece makes drinking more natural. You can notice the difference in the freshness of the water’s flavor. I tried it with the normal filter attachment and although there is some resistance to the water suction, it doesn't take much effort. I think I'll only use this accessory when traveling. In my daily life I will use filtered tap water. Now the big disappointment was that the app was not available for the Android system. I sent an email to LARQ support and despite the quick response, I was not satisfied. The answer was that they were making some final touches to the app without mentioning the expected release date of the app. In this ... MoreI liked the bottle. Because of this, I consider it to be false advertising. One of the reasons that led me to buy the bottle was to be able to control my water intake. Therefore, I hope that LARQ quickly resolves the matter, because at this moment there is a difference between Apple and Android customers that is not fair and is not correct on your company's part.... Good water bottle but incomplete!
The water bottle is aesthetically very nice and looks well built. It feels premium to the touch. The straw filter performs well. It greatly improves the taste of the water. However, I was very disappointed with the lack of the android app. Since I don't have an iphone, I can't use the drink tracking features. One of the main reasons for purchase. I was told that it will be released by the end of the year, but in the meantime I get an incomplete product until the end of the year ( assuming they keep their word). The worst thing is that it is not clearly stated, in fact the Google play store logo is shown everyware on the website, on the packaging and in the manual. You have to go to a dedicated web page and find out what app is not there yet. Very disapponted.... Show more

Not what I was hoping for
Well, I wanted to like this. The UV sanitizer is a great idea and I thought adding a filter would just add more. Unfortunately, the PureVis 2 has some flaws.First, the bottle will not fill up to the top when using the filter. You have to guess how much water to stop at because when ******** on the top with the filter, it’s going to displace the water and will often overflow until you get that figured out. So you only get about 4/5 full bottle. Then it does not easily flow with the filter in. It’s more of a **** through the straw because the filter prevents the water from coming out quickly when inverted.I ended up removing the filter and straw altogether, so I basically have the original, but it costs $130. Then don’t leave the cap open like this because nothing ... MoreWell, I wanted to like this. The UV sanitizer is a great idea and I thought adding a filter would just add more. Finally, when you flip open the cap, and drink straight, your nose will hit the cap when inverted, so you have to kind of drink with the bottle turned sideways.Anyway, I can’t return a used bottle, so lesson learned. Maybe I’ll try to sell it on eBay. Don’t buy it.Sorry... Show more

One cap to rule them all (and in the darkness, sterilize them)
Whether you get a PureVis 2 or just the updated sanitizing cap with filter straw and USB-C, you’ll be happy. The bottle has been reliable, every sip has a cold, odourless, tasteless, crispness to it, whether I just filled it up or I’ve been carrying it around all day. I’m also a big fan of the pulsating light, reminding me to drink. I’m better hydrated since I bought this than I ever have been in my life, because I always have it with me, and I know I can fill it up just about anywhere I am, and I’ll get the same, consistent, clean, fresh water my body needs. No more worrying about contaminants, smelly bottles, dust in open cups, or any of the other reasons d find myself dehydrated because of. I’m a little disappointed it came with only a basic filter though, and I strongly recommend the damaged. Due to some kind of glitch, I believed I was getting an advanced filter when I ordered mine, but when I placed a second order as a gift for someone, it said the filter was just basic. I contacted customer support who assured me it was a glitch because the advanced filters weren’t even compatible with my bottle, and I reluctantly accepted what I still perceived to be an order change. After that, mine said basic when I signed in too. I then found out the advanced filters are in fact compatible, so there was a lot of confusion, and it resulted in me giving a gift with a less capable filter than what I thought I ordered. Unfortunately, looking at the specs, the basic filter isn’t going to even be used by us. We just fill from our Britta at home, and the bottle sanitizes it, without the filter straw in. Next time we go away somewhere through, we’ll be sure to order a pack of advanced filters to take with us. Same goes for if we hear of any impending apocalypses.... Show more
