I am in love with my LARQ Bottle PureVis Cap. The water tastes always nice and I don't have to worry about cleaning my bottle at all. I simply wipe the rim down and thats it. No smell no residue in the bottle. The UV Cap turns of if it detects light. I use it everyday and don't get a sore throat anymore. The bottle does a great job keeping the temperature of the water cold or warm. In combiniation with the Filter it gives me peace of mind, knowing that no matter what happens next, I will have access to save and clean drinking water. Only negative thing I can think of ist that he charging cable is not a type C but still micro USB.

I noticed a difference in the taste of my tap water almost right away. I am enjoying the water bottle although it did take a few 'sips' to get things right. For example, I found that the closer you hold the bottle to your body, the easier it is to sip. If you hold it up higher on an angle, a few drops will leak out. Some thoughts on the product itself - I wish you could pour water out of the sipper so you don't have to share that part of the bottle with someone else (maybe the next iteration?). The filter is a bit bigger than I was expecting so you do get less water. (For this reason, I'm very glad I ordered the larger size out of the 2 offered!) All this aside, I still am enjoying LARQ-ing every day and find that I am now drinking more water. Thank you!

My old lid stopped working about after about a year and a half. After purchasing this new lid, while the lights worked well, the seal was not the same and it would leak. (Once, it leaked in my backpack and got all my work papers wet.)So I was managing well enough just keeping it upright and no longer putting it in my bag, at one point when I was filling up the bottle, I noticed a rubber ring at the bottom of the bottom that I assume fell off of the lid. I attempted to reattach it, and it has been fine every since, I was just a bit frustrated that it would fall off when it was literally brand new.

I bought and revived this cap at the beginning of October and have used it in my African trip. I. The first couples times it sounds working ok. However, I found it is not working any more in the last 3 days. I have tried to recharge it for a few times and a green light is on just a few seconds and goes off.!I think it has been fully charged and unplug it, then press the on-off button several times. There was a orange light on for 2-3 second and off. I repeated for a couple time and there is no more light on at all. I am sure what has happened to it. Also, I can’t really drink the water with the drinking straw and filter cap, no water goes through the straw and I need to open the cap and drinking the water with through the filter. So glad that LARQ sells this replacement cap seperately, so I can keep using my old bottles without having to buy the complete package again. I backed LARQ long ago on kickstarter and the caps had a different design back then. In the 3 1/2 years of use, 3 out of 5 caps have stopped working, so this is my second replacement cap now. The design now features a small glass window that seperates the UV-LED from the rest of the bottle (and the water of course), so my hope is, that this time I will be able to use the cap for a longer time. All in all I am still highly satisfied with the PureVis system. Still stylish, still unique and still helping me to get my daily amount of water.
First of all, this water bottle is absolutely *beautiful* and convenient (fits in all cup holders). That being said, the filtration straw does impede flow when you are drinking and takes up valuable space in the bottle itself, which is to be expected, I suppose. Also, I made the mistake of ordering the non-insulated version, due to the larger volume it would hold, so my water doesn’t stay cold and there isn’t enough volume/space for adding ice to be practical. Overall, I do love my Larq bottle for use during the day while I work, but find myself going back to using my other big-brand water bottles for my bedside and the gym (or any time I want a big, cold drink). I really do love my Larq, for what it does, especially that the UV lid is compatible with the filtered ... MoreFirst of all, this water bottle is absolutely *beautiful* and convenient (fits in all cup holders). Overall, I do love my Larq bottle for use during the day while I work, but find myself going back to using my other big-brand water bottles for my bedside and the gym (or any time I want a big, cold drink). I really do love my Larq, for what it does, especially that the UV lid is compatible with the filtered water bottle (though I wish there was a convenient way to keep the UV lid on/near my bottle). I also wish they would add the insulated option with larger volume and easier water flow as you drink. I would even sacrifice the size/ability to keep it in a cup holder for any combination of these features. If you only have access to unfiltered tap water and want an aesthetically pleasing water bottle that filters for you, I highly recommend. If you get big-time thirsty and flow rate matters, I would say that other options may be better. All of that being said, I’ve had a Larq since the very first version came out and I am excited to see the direction they are going.
I’ve been using this on a trip to Uganda to fully sterilise a combination of tap water and rainwater, with the filtered bottle. All fine so far, so between the UV and the filter it’s definitely doing the job. The one thing I’d like to see added is a mode which allows easy use of the on-demand UV, but disables the bottle-cleaning feature. When this is used with the filter bottle it spends 99% of its life in a bag, not on the bottle, so it needs to be fully switched off (“travel mode”) and on for each use to save battery and prevent UV damage to the bag and it’s contents. The safety feature which prevents it switching on seems to be a light sensor because it will still activate in dark places, such as the inside of a bag.
The water bottle has a sleek design however the filter is massive and takes up so much space. I still like using it.My main complaint would be the serializing lid I bought which is an extra 60 dollars! The reality is, if you want to use it to clean stream water on a hike you are still at risk because the entire brim of the bottle isn’t getting clean. Which is where most bacteria gathers on dirty water bottles anyways. For those reasons I am pretty dissatisfied.
The water tastes great, so the filter and pure vis cap (I ended up going with both), clearly work The water does stay cold throughout the day as well, so the insulation does it’s job! However, the bottle could use some updates, the filter takes up a good amount of volume, limiting the quantity of water you can hold. The cap also seems to leak water when filled to the top and when opening/closing the straw lid. The straw is definitely difficult to sip out of as previous reviews have mentioned (but honestly not that bad).. the pure vis top does not screw on as easy as I would like. Overall, the bottle is slick and the water is clean and tasty. Just need some design updates
I'm going to keep this very straightforward. This product has a lot of potential, but it also has significant issues that need to be addressed immediately. Candidly, when I was first deciding whether or not to buy it, I kind of dismissed most of the negative reviews, assuming they just hadn't read or followed the instructions properly. However, after thoroughly reading the instructions and FAQs, I still have three problems with this cap: 1. Reliability/consistency. In my experience so far, the button only works maybe half the time. When it works, it's cool, but when it doesn't, it really makes me question why I'm trusting this "precision instrument" to eliminate bio-contaminants from backcountry river water. 2. Travel mode. If you lose track, there doesn't seem to ... MoreI'm going to keep this very straightforward. If you lose track, there doesn't seem to be a way to tell whether it's on or not (besides waiting two hours to see if it automatically self-cleans). Furthermore, holding the button for 5-10 seconds doesn't always do something—you're supposed to see a white light flash, but it only works some of the time. 3. Micro-USB. It would've been nice to see USB-C charging instead of Micro-USB. This is more personal preference but Micro-USB products feel lower quality and somewhat outdated.
