I was making my rounds through the many choices of coffee and this coffee is a keeper!! I enjoy it as a cold brew and hot brew. I purchased a coffee grinder so I can have fresh ground beans when making coffee. Give it a try! I save plenty money making at home and the taste and smoothness is no comparison to the drive-thru coffee stores.

In November 2019, I finally bought a real espresso machine () after my airport coffee shop latte went up to $8. I had finally found the limit of what I was willing to pay. I tried a few types of espresso beans that were adequate. Thankfully, I didnāt give up the search for excellence and found these. Absolutely perfect, better than what Iād been paying $8 for, and more reminiscent of the exquisite lattes Iād had in small independent coffee shops downtown. Iāve been buying this for a few years now and havenāt tried anything else because when itās love, itās love. āļø

For context: I only drink americanos instead of drip-coffee from a coffee machine, and milk-based drinks instead of straight espresso.I have tried just about every Lavazza whole bean coffee, and this one is by far the worst. I found the flavor to be on the darker side, which is not a bad thing. But when that is coupled with bitterness, that's just a deal breaker for me. Obviously, these characteristics are more pronounced as an americano. As a latte or cappuccino it was more palatable thanks to the softening of the taste from the milk and foam. Nevertheless, whatever chocolatey and nutty notes this coffee may have, they are too subtle to appreciate, especially with the bitterness that is present.I'll put this on my "Do Not Buy" list.

This blend took many attempts to dial in. It must be ground much finer than other Lavazza bean varieties to get the flavor right. I found that if I was a little off the extractions was too fast or the crema was poor. After finally finding the right dose, I was able to make five-star espresso with the flavor notes exactly as described. I probably won't order this blend again as other Lavazza beans (Tierra! in particular) are equally as good with much less effort and more room for error. If you want to save a little dough and are willing to put in the work, this bean could be for you,
As always, we love our LaVazza Espresso roast!! Delightful balance with a robust finish that works well in our drip system, our press, and our machinetta espresso maker. Always quite satisfied with the results of the coffee as well as the expert service and rapid delivery that this company provides it's clients. We would recommend them to anyone who truly appreciates a delicious coffee experience. Also, an A++ rating on value! Order over $40 and get the regular free shipping. Always received within 3 days of ordering.
This is really super coffee to use in our Gaggia auto latte maker. it produces great expresso shots, Americanos and lattes, as well as cappuccino. The flavor is bold and consistent. It is good from beginning to end of the bag.
Bold without being bitter. You got to use espresso machine to make it right. Grind it not super fine. Regular coffee maker won't pull out of it all the specter of taste. The only cons: when it back to stock? :(
I bought this assuming that āEspressoā is synonymous with ādark roast.ā Most other brands have an espresso roast and it is (almost) always dark roast. And I only like dark roast coffee. My gripe is actually not that it is not dark roast, but that the roast is not clearly labeled on the front of the package. Instead Lavazzo opted to print its āintensityā instead. The words āRoasting: Mediumā do appear on the back along with other blurbs of information staggered in English and French.I gave it 3 stars because I do not hate the flavor. Itās better than McDonalds. But it is definitely not something I would purchase again. Itās probably as good most medium roasts but it should be CLEARLY labeled āMedium Roastā on the front of the label.
Upon recommendation we tried Lavazza Espresso Barista Perfetto. It was enough unlike Pienaroma that we needed to find another. The Espresso Italiano is more to our liking (still unlike our favorite--Pienaroma) but closer. It grinds more evenly than the Barista did--our Vario Baratza grinder is happy at the manufacturer's recommended setting for espresso. The Barista Perfetto was all over the place in settings. We had to set it super coarse when fresh and chase the setting towards finer and finer as it aged. For reference a 2.2 lb. bag only lasts us a couple of weeks and we store the open bag in the freezer. The Barista Perfetto always tasted thin. We could not get the richness of the Pienaroma. The Espresso Italiano is closer, and we are still experimenting. We are ...Ā MoreUpon recommendation we tried Lavazza Espresso Barista Perfetto. It was so fresh and aromatic! It was in the lighter side of roast which damaged my stomach with much acidity unfortunately. But the taste was superb and it produced thick crema. Hadn't I had this stomach problem, I would've continued purchasing this. Anyone with normal condition who enjoys thick crema and delicate acidity with satisfying aroma wouldn't be disappointed by these espresso beans.
