LOVE this all in one without the big price tag or the fiddly parts to clean! Limited pod options as not Nespresso compatible but Lavazza has a great range of delicious pods so no real issue. I started with just the 1 glass it comes with so had to pour into other cups then rinse before I could make anyone elses cuppa - not a big deal, but Ive now got extra cups (only $20 each at GG) so we just line them up, make them and drink straight from the big indulgent glass mugs, making it even better!

Firstly, the machine looks very stylish and has a nice glossy finish. Chrome accents further accentuates the looks. The removable clear water container at the rear of the machine is very useful to see how much is left.Operating the machine is very simple, and making a morning cup of coffee takes very little effort. When you are using your own mug, the machine will dispense black coffee in a range of shot sizes (espresso, long black, etc). When you are using the glass mug that comes with the machine, you add the required amount of milk first, and the machine will whisk the milk until frothy and add the coffee shot, making the perfect cup of cappuccino. The used coffee capsule automatically drops into a container that can be removed by pulling out from the front of the machine. Then I run an empty shot without any coffee capsule to clean any coffee residue from the machine. That's it!

My first impression of the coffee machine is that it looks amazing and sleek. The size is fairly small, (H: 28cm), weigh just 4kg and just fits nicely on the side of my kitchen bench. Out of the package, it comes with 9 samples of coffee capsules, a milk frothing mug and a very handy quick start guide to the machine. It’s very easy to operate the one-touch coffee machine and clearly indicated by the diagram on the settings. There are 4 options for the coffee (left ring) with another similar 4 options for the milk coffee (right ring). It also heats up the water incredibly fast (plus a temperature boost) and silently too.It takes about 90 seconds for the coffee to be ready. The few coffee capsules that I have has great consistency with a thick, satisfying crema on ... MoreMy first impression of the coffee machine is that it looks amazing and sleek. The few coffee capsules that I have has great consistency with a thick, satisfying crema on top and not too bitter. However, it can’t compete with a decent bean to cup or manual espresso machine or grinder.Essentially, there’s very little maintenance involved and general descaling should only be done when the LED indicator pops up on the front.Overall, one of the best mid-range coffee capsule machines.

For the last few months of having the Lavazza Desea black was great, my husband I got to enjoy a Cafe style coffees without going to the Cafe. One of the feature that I like is, it does have its own milk frother, its built-in to the machine itself. With the coffee capsules available it ranges from the strength of the coffee and they are available to be purchase in the big supermarkets. But the only downfall I guess, its only coffee there are no other flavours to choose from... But overall, I love the Lavazza Desea coffee machine.
I previously have always had a nespresso machine, so I am comparing the use to that. It does the job, however despite a large pod holder, it alarms when it is half full, which is just annoying as you have to empty it alot more often, and it won't make a coffee unless you empty it, even though there is space for more pods. At 5am in the morning this is just frustrating. The water chamber holds a large amount of water which is good. My main disappointment is the coffee pods. You have to use the brands coffee pods and the flavours just aren't amazing. Alot of them are weak in flavour. The jug that comes with the machine for milk frothing is fine, but then the coffee gets added to it & its abit weird because you have to decide if you drink from the glass jug, which is ... MoreI previously have always had a nespresso machine, so I am comparing the use to that. The jug that comes with the machine for milk frothing is fine, but then the coffee gets added to it & its abit weird because you have to decide if you drink from the glass jug, which is the same as a measuring jug, or you pour the coffee into another mug that now ruins the perfectly frothed milk, also the jug spout is crap and it makes the coffee drip down the jug and creates a giant mess, again at 5am just annoying. Never buying again, going to go back to nespresso machines.
Having never owned a proper coffee maker and being an instant coffee consumer who occasionally treats themselves to a barista coffee, I wasn't sure what to expect but I'm glad I was able to get my hands on this particular machine because of its ease of use. All I have to do is add water, pop in the mug and the capsule and within about a minute I have this barista style coffee cup for a fraction of the price of getting it at the local coffee shop. Yes, a single minute for a foamy and delicious cup of coffee, at home, cheaply priced. This made me question why people even bother spending so much at coffee shops. Yes, a single minute for a foamy and delicious cup of coffee, at home, cheaply priced. This made me question why people even bother spending so much at coffee shops. The machine has two functions with very different and specific variations each. On the left side, you have regular coffee and espresso options. On the right side, several options for milk based drinks, such as latte, cappuccino, etc. I prefer the milk based options. To make those, you just pop in the milk based mug and add a specialty lid that froths the milk. You get several options and sizes for each type of drink. Once done, I quickly rinse the lid and mixer and set it to dry for the next time. The rinsing part is very easy as it has a straw so just let water run through it and it seems very clean. The machine is as pictured but the quality of the parts seems very good and not the cheap plastic type. The arm that pops the capsules in seems very sturdy and heavy, like they used to make back in the day.
I am loving the convince that I can have my Cap in my PJ's! No more running to the coffee shop because of coffee cravings! This machine has a feature that allows you to make a coffee with the press of a button as the milk forther is built in to the machine. It is great in the morning when you pop the pod in machine and then it froths the milk at same time. All while you are busy doing something else in the kitchen.I would like a spout on the milk jug to help pour the finished coffee. And another jug so you could drink the coffee out of the mug if you choose to do so.All in all I am enjoying my new coffee adventure!
So very disappointed with the Lavazza Desea. After reading good reviews I decided to purchase this machine. Neither my husband or myself can follow the very bad instructions. We have had the machine for weeks now and still have not been able to make a proper coffee with it. It stands on the bench looking pretty but NOT used. We have used so many capsules attempting to make a coffee to no avail. NOT happy.
Nearly 2 weeks of everyday use and I’m finding it hard to fault this little beauty.Out of the box, it was apparent that this is no ordinary pod machine. Chrome highlights, polished plastic body and a glass mug/milk aerator give this machine a feel of quality. It came well packaged in three parts; the body (including the water reservoir), the drip tray and the mug/milk aerator. Included in the packaging is a full manual, a quick setup guide, a leaflet describing the different Lavazza pods available and a box of 9 different sample pods.Set up was quick and easy with the quick setup guide and I was enjoying my first espresso within 5 minutes of opening the box. Included in the packaging is a full manual, a quick setup guide, a leaflet describing the different Lavazza pods available and a box of 9 different sample pods.Set up was quick and easy with the quick setup guide and I was enjoying my first espresso within 5 minutes of opening the box. I referred to the full manual once to check the function of each of the different coffee options and found them to be intuitive with no need to refer back to the full manual. The machine heats extremely quickly, taking about 15 seconds from power up to being ready for you to select your preferred coffee. Its quiet operation is surprising, although making a milk based coffee is a little louder than making the non-milk alternatives.Clean up is a breeze with a quick rinse of the milk aerator, if used, and sporadic emptying and rinsing of the drip tray and used pod tray. With its small form factor, this machine will almost certainly find a home in even the smallest of kitchens. The only real negative is it gets a little complicated if making milk based coffees for more than one person. For such situations, you’d make espressos separately and then steam and aerate your milk, using the supplied jug, to add to the espressos after. While the coffee produced by this machine is no real competition against much pricier bean to cup machines, it does a great job for the price and presents as a great value alternative that punches above its weight.
