Lavazza Gran Riserva Filtro Whole Bean Coffee Dark Roast 2.2lb Bag ,100% Natural Arabica, Authentic Italian, Blended and Roasted in Italy, Cocoa and C
Lavazza Gran Riserva Filter Whole Bean Coffee, 2.2 pounds, brings Italian roasting heritage and technical precision straight to your drip brewer. This dark roast blend uses hand-selected 100% Arabica beans sourced from top Brazilian lots, then roasted in Italy to a carefully tuned profile that highlights rich cocoa, dense caramel, and near-melted brown sugar notes in every cup. The result is a full-bodied, smooth coffee that feels café ready yet easy enough for your weekday morning pot. Attention to detail shows in the uniform bean size, consistent batch roasting, and strict quality control. Those details pay off in the cup with beans that respond predictably to grind size and extraction time, helping you dial in your preferred flavor whether you brew with an automatic drip coffee maker, a manual pour-over, or a larger batch brewer. The 2.2-pound whole bean format is sized perfectly for regular home use, giving you plenty of coffee to practice your grind and brew recipe without sacrificing freshness. Gran Riserva Filter is designed for everyday drinkers who want a reliably bold, dark roast profile and for serious coffee enthusiasts who appreciate an exacting, repeatable roast. It stays forgiving enough for straightforward drip brewing, yet offers enough flavor complexity to reward attention to water temperature and brew ratio. Enjoy it black to spotlight the cocoa depth and brown sugar sweetness, or add milk to soften and amplify the caramel notes. However you brew, this Lavazza whole bean coffee delivers a refined, Italian-style cup that balances tradition, consistency, and approachable performance for better drip coffee at home.

A wonderful coffee...like most all Lavazza Coffee's. We were using the Super Crema (which is VG) and wanted a little stronger coffee for the office. This bean is darker with a little more oil(s) in it. But, grinds great in our little Gaggia Brera we have for the staff. Actually moving more coffee now than before. 5 Stars - Thanks Lavazza!

Full bodied, smooth, good crema. After WLL stopped selling Buzzopolis, we had to look for a new coffee and tried quite a number. WLL’s new substitute was not good. Tried a number of Lavazza, this one stood out.

Pulling shots from. Breville Barista, this coffee is very tasty, creamy, toffee woodsy and strong; a wonderful blend to include into your bean rotation. The only “negative” aspect of this product is its roast dates. Purchased this online from Whole Latte Love, a popular shop in Seattle & Amazon and roast stamped dates are averaging 6-9 months old. Lavazza’s nitrogen flushing helps maintain freshness but it seems like after about five days since initial bay opening, the beautiful profiles seem to disappear more rapidly than local roasted beans. Even though all beans lose freshness over time, Gran Riserva is still pretty delicious & decent even after a couple weeks after bag seal is broken. Enjoy!

I discovered this coffe trying to find which dark roasted blends I would enjoy. It makes constitenly good espresso every time despite not being advertised for such use. I found using an Oracle Touch with 18 grams coffee with a temperature setting of 195 degrees Farenheit that a total of 36 seconds, (6 of which is pre infusion) pulled to a double ristretto is extremely tasty as a cappuccino or latte.
These beans are OLLLLD. They sent me beans that were roasted 10 MONTHS ago. When I asked for a refund, I was met with no apology or concern. Just a link to a policy. The product description should read "We may send you beans that are freshly roasted but it's more likely to have been roasted last year." Buy local beans and not this garbage. The Maromas are a little better - those bags they sent me were just 2+ months old. Pretty funny considering the How To article right on this page says "To get the best from a coffee you want to use fresh roasted beans, grind immediately before brewing and use them within 2 weeks. Now, if you don't ..."
Gran Riserva is my favorite Lavazza bean profile and taste. I prefer medium / dark roasts that aren’t as oily and prepare my cappuccino & latte thru my Breville Barista. The good: good toffee, thick, slightly woody undertonesThe bad: Roast dates that are about a year ago, so beans taste great immediately after opening but even with careful storage, seem to lose some character, sooner than my local roasted Peet’s Forte beans. It’s also possible that my taste buds get “used to” the flavors..At Gran Riserva’s great taste at around $10/lb, it’s always a taste, time & cost battle with the (around 40%) more expensive local small- batch roasters’ beans.
I have tried a variety of beans from WholeLatteLove and other suppliers since I got a superautomatic machine. My favorite drink is a latte, so I want a coffee that can stand up to the quantity of milk and come through with a good flavor. The Lavazza Gold was in the running for my favorite but it wasn't quite there. The Gran Riserva is. There is a more distinct "coffee" flavor without the over-roasted taste that some beans bring. The taste lingers on my tongue long after the cup is done. I hope you keep carrying it because I will want more.
My husband and I do not agree on coffee. He likes it dark, while I am partial to a medium or light roast. On black Friday last year, I took the plunge and upgraded from a 20yo Starbucks Barista Athena to a Gaggia Classic Pro. Since then, I've been experimenting with different roasts. Most have been from local roasters, but again hubby and I have not been able to get on the same page. I'd had my eye on the Lavazza brand for awhile and after doing a deep dive on the reviews decided to take the plunge...and FINALLY, we've landed on something so delicious, we are both equally satisfied! The flavor profile is rich, smooth and sweet and pairs well with each of our preferred milks. We've gone thru 2/3 of a bag in only 3wks and just ordered more. Highly recommend!!!
This is a restock for my coffee bar supply shelf. The beans are "dryer" than others in the Lavazza family, which on a practical standpoint means they do not slide down the bean "hopper" as easily...sometimes giving the "Add Coffee" error message on my super automatic machine. Still, makes a good cup of coffee or espresso.
I ordered four bags of this kind and three out of the four are very bitter tasting. This is very unfortunate. We have a Z8 Jura coffee machine and we did not change anything on our machine and the beans taste awful. There is something wrong with the beans.Like I said, one bag was great and wonderful tasting but the other three are horrible. We took all the beans out of the machine and put them back in the bag. This needs to be addressed because people do not know how the beans should taste if they only buy one bag.Thank you.
