Layrite - Cement Clay - 120 G

This stuff is one of the best hair clays I have ever tried. To start with, the scent is fantastic. A subtle but wonderful Vanilla smell. The hold is fantastic. And washes out easily. Definitely worth the buy.

I absolutely love the smell of this! No really, it has one of the nicest scents in a product marketed for men I've ever found. It leaves a lovely matte finish on the hair, doesn't look greasy at all and lasts all day. It's fairly firm and I recommend rubbing between the hands to warm up, then rubbing through the hair. Its really good for volume too. This is really good for flyaways if you wear buns or have your hair tied up as it doesn't go crispy like hairspray does. It comes out without much fuss in the shower. It also has a sponge on top of the product which stops it drying out. You do have to apply by sticking you fingers in the tub but if you're not worried about that then this is 100% gold.

Awesome stuff

I have tried plenty of these type products. Some were not strong enough and some made my hair stiff and then flaky. This stuff is great, its a clay, you warm it up in your hands run thru your hair and shape and it stays put. It washes out with just water very easily. I think I finally found my favorite. It has a nice mild scent too. It seems more $$ at first but this is actually a good size tin and is less than all the designer brands out there. Try it, you will like it. This seller was awesome too.

Best clay type product on the market

I have used many different products for my hair. as its coarse, wavy and doesn't like to sit, it has been a challenge. Layrite's cement and pomades have been the only water based product that can hold my hair in place all day, even through activity. my favorite part about this product is its water soluble and easy to wash out, but can make a mess of anything you lay your head on (think leather sofas, arm chairs, pillows, etc). can also be a hassle to wash off your hands after styling, but not as bad as other products I have tried. works best for shorter hair, but I have used it when my hair gets medium longish(for a guy) with good results. definitely recommended!

Not one to leave comments much, but I am very impressed with this product. I’m a Caucasian male in 30s with thin soft hair. The clay is easy to apply and holds medium well - which is perfect because it allows me to make adjustments after bouts of wind in NYC when outside, yet still maintain its medium hold afterwords. I apply only a light amount. If I applied more, it would hold stronger. It doesn’t feel heavy in my hair, and is very easy to wash out and off hands. It was recommended by a hair stylist at a boutique salon, so I gave it a try. I don’t regret it. I searched online and found Walmart sells as well, so I can purchase my refill cheaper than at the salon!

Great hair clay with very little downsides

This hair clay is definitely my favorite that I've tried so far. It holds my hair incredibly well without giving it a gross shininess. I have longish hair (goes down to about my mouth when pulled down during my shower) and it holds all of it very well. It also impresses me that I'm still able to touch up my hair throughout the day despite the clays strength. The scent is also pretty pleasing. It smells like vanilla crossed with unscented hair clay. The vanilla scent isn't too strong so you don't smell like that all day but you do notice it if you smell the container. I also use much less clay than I used to with different products. The one downside I have to this product is that it leaves my hair slightly darker in appearance. Using this clay makes it lean more heavily towards the brown side. I don't think this will be an issue for most people but I prefer when my hair looks golden rather than brown. I still love this clay and it will probably be my go to for years to come but I just wanted to make note of the slight color difference in my hair after using this product. I wish there was an option for 4.5 stars because I really love this clay I just don't want to say it's perfect.

Layrite Clay

I have been using clay pomade for many years, my favorite and still is Jack Black clay pomade, it’s phenomenal clay. I forgot to pack my usual product so i needed some matte clay on a trip i was on and Walmart doesn’t carry Jack Black so i got this based on reviews, but it’s definitely not for my fine blonde hair, it doesn’t have a strong hold maybe a medium hold, I couldn’t run my fingers through my hair with this stuff in, it was sticky, didn’t seem to be matte since it made my hair look oily and a heavy weighed down feel. My "go to" daily

I use the strong hold Layrite and the cement. I find that when I want a more natural, lower shine, loose style the cement works great. I use it on dry hair and add a tiny bit of water to my hands while warming up the cement in my hand, then evenly mix it into my hair and style. It is almost effortless to get the look I want very quickly. The more you use the stronger the hold. It also lasts a few days so I only wash my hair every 2-3 days. For a slicked and more shiny look I add the strong hold pomade or sometimes a petroleum or bee's wax types of pomades. I would really recommend this as a go to for all styles once you work out your process.

One of the best!

This is one of the best moulding paste I've used. It holds hair up nicely and smells great. You need to rub the clay in your hands for at least ten seconds before applying so that you don't see streaks of white paste in your hair. The only downside is the sticky residue left on your hands after applying.

The Best for men's hair

I have tried multiple products for my hair and this is by far my favorite. Sure it's a bit pricier than beauty brands, but not as much as American Crew etc. I have thick hair with some body to it and it can tend to fall out of place but this stuff keeps it where it's supposed to be without turning it into a crusty mess of hair that cracks under pressure. I usually use a very small amount unless I need some heavy hold. It doesn't give you a greasy, shiny look. Some people dig the pomade shine, but not me. I like this matte look. Holds it well, but still keeps it natural looking and classy. Oh, it also smells slightly of delicious vanilla. Really good stuff.
