Unfortunately, this gift left much to be desired. While cast iron cookware is renowned for its even heat distribution and durability, this particular Dutch oven fell short in several key areas. First and foremost, the cooking performance was deeply disappointing. Despite following recipes and adjusting temperatures accordingly, food consistently burnt far more quickly than anticipated. This resulted in charred meals and a frustrating cooking experience. Whether I was simmering soups or braising meats, I found myself constantly battling with burnt bottoms and uneven cooking. Moreover, the cleaning process was far more laborious than with other cast iron cookware in my collection. Despite my best efforts, stubborn food residue seemed to cling to the surface, requiring excessive scrubbing and soaking to remove. This not only added extra time to my post-cooking routine but also led to concerns about damaging the seasoning of the Dutch oven over time. Overall, while the Threshold Cast Iron Dutch Oven 6qt may initially seem like a budget-friendly option, its subpar performance ultimately makes it a poor investment for serious home cooks. From inconsistent cooking results to difficult cleaning processes, this Dutch oven fails to live up to the standards expected of cast iron cookware. I would strongly advise looking elsewhere for a more reliable and user-friendly option. One last thing that I forgot to mention… The cast iron cracked after 4 uses while I was cooking!! I’ve never had an issue with any of my cast irons breaking so easily. I would never recommend their cooking appliances, however, everything else is amazing!l

While you can remove it after a long soak, after a few uses, the enamel gets stained and cannot be restored to its initial splendour.Another problem is that you should not put them in the dishwasher because it will damage it in the long run. Please note: do not over heat these, as they will get damaged.I must say the shiny exterior enamel of all my Le Creuset items have stayed as new as the day I got them. Shame I cannot say that for the interior.

Does not dissapoint and worth the extra cost

I have some cheaper similar cook wear but they are much heavier in comparison and their interior coatings do not clean as well. I bought this particular casserole dish as a clearance item and it is in perfect condition. My ultimate aim is to replace my other brands with Le Creuset. I like to get a different colour each time if possible and on sale. The weight factor is important for usability as I age. Le Creuset is manageable and just think of it as good exercise when elderly!

It's my go to!

I couldn't wait to get this baby out of the box, and use it. I've been using Le Creuset cast iron skillets, for years now, but I wanted to invest in better cookware, and purchased a small Dutch oven (2qt), and this Cassadou (both in chiffon pink šŸ˜)This Cassadou quickly became my go-to, for ALL things. I've fried chicken, pork chops, and baby back ribs. I've made one pot pasta meals, and homemade gravy. I've even used it to bake homemade cinnamon rolls in, and I'm telling you, it cooks PERFECTLY every time. I plan on using it for my Mississippi pot roast, instead of my slow cooker, and I'm sure it'll taste even better. My mom's birthday is in April, and I plan on purchasing a Cassadou for her. LOVE IT!
11 November 2023

I have several Le Creuset casseroles, round and oval and different sizes. My oldest ones I purchased in about 1988 and are a nut brown colour. The latest colour at that time. I have used all of them dozens of times to cook casseroles, braised meats, stuffings, rice pudding, Yorkshire pudding etc etc.Considering their age they have served me well. The interiors have lost their lovely appearance but still do the job well. The cast iron cooks the contents well and holds the heat so the temperature can be reduced. I always soak them in cold water prior to washing. If I am left with a stain I fill with cold water and add some bleach. They still look good enough to put on the table to serve.I am looking to add to my collection but will still used my old ones as ...Ā MoreI have several Le Creuset casseroles, round and oval and different sizes. Le Creuset going downhill FAST
26 July 2024

I ordered a 3.5 QT cerise SIGNATURE braiser with gold knob during the factory to table sale. Item was so poorly packaged that the presentation box was crushed with several holes in it. Since this was for a wedding present it was important that the box not look like I purchased it off of a backlot scrap yard. Le Creuset could not send just a replacement box so I had to ship the entire braiser back. They sent me a TRADITIONAL braiser in its place which has much smaller handles and was not acceptable as an exchange. Now they say they can't replace it since it's out of stock. Not sure why they didn't ship one of the alternate colors they asked me to list when I submitted the RMA request. I guess they didn't want to honor the sale price anymore. I will purchase Staub ...Ā MoreI ordered a 3.5 QT cerise SIGNATURE braiser with gold knob during the factory to table sale. PINK CHIFFON IS BACK!!!
4 November 2023

Thrilled to see pink chiffon back! This Cassadou is a perfectly-sized vessel for daily use. It can braise, sautƩ and brown effortlessly! Great for meat, stews, vegetables and sauces! It's both wide and deep. It's a bit heavier than the glass lid Cassadou but so pretty on top of the stove! I always use either wooden or silicone utensils so no scratches or damage occurs during use. I'd love Le Creuset to make a special edition sparkle powder pink to support the fight of women battling breast cancer! Please make that and donate a portion of your sales for the cause!Overall, a great vessel for everyday cooking at a great price! Just get it!

So many uses in our kitchen!
3 August 2024

The quality in these products are evident throughout. They are heavy, sturdy and well made. They are practically indestructible which to me makes it worth the money because they last such a long time. There are so many uses for it: I use it for everything! On the hob, in the oven for roasting. It's like a one pot wonder. I would definitely get more Le Creuset products going forward. I love the variations of colours they come in too, although I have the classic orange.

What a versatile, good-sized Cassadou!
28 November 2023

I love EVERYTHING about this Cassadou/dutch oven , but especially the chiffon pink color! This dutch oven does everything! Love the handles!!! Love the way it cooks in the oven. LC, please continue to make these beautiful Dutch ovens in every pink color under the sun. Please bring back the rose pink, too! A word of advice: cook on a medium or medium low flame, as the DO heats up very quickly, use only silicone or wooden utensils, not metal utensils, Give the Dutch oven a few minutes to cool down before submerging in water to prevent thermal shock, use scrub daddy, not metal sponges to clean, and lastly, do not drag your Dutch oven across the stove top but, rather, lift so as not to scratch. If you do these things, you will have a lifetime of use.

YAY, CHIFFON PINK IS BACK 🄳!
1 November 2023

First, that BEAUTIFUL CHIFFON PINK COLOR is back! Now for the review. This dutch oven cooks like a dream. It is wide enough to brown short ribs, steak and chicken. It is also deep enough to add a substantial amount of liquid. As with all Le Creuset Dutch ovens, I generally cook on medium to medium low heat because the vessel gets hot quickly and stays hot. The size of 3.75 quarts is a perfect every day size to cook for a family of three. Going directly from the stove top to the oven makes cooking a breeze. As with all signature line Dutch ovens, the larger loop handle is much easier to lift off the stove top and into the oven, as compared to the classic line which has the smaller handles. There are numerous colors to choose from in this vessel and if you decide to purchase this one, I believe you will be very happy.
