Annoying stickers and a kettle that constantly drips!

Not impressed with the Creuset kettle. First, an incredible amount of packaging was sent with the kettle. Then, there are a couple on logo stickers placed directly on the kettle that are very difficult to remove, leading to a scuffed kettle and a lot of frustration. Finally the kettle must be poorly designed as it has a constant drip while pouring. Not a small drip either, this drip leaves a significant puddle if you don't catch it right away. Very disappointing purchase, significantly below expectations.

Beautiful, Drippy Kettle

I needed to replace my previous kettle, and wanted another Le Creuset, so I was excited to order a new one. It's beautiful, no question. However, water drips out of the spout every time we pour into mugs and teapots, regardless of the angle at which we hold the kettle. It's annoying. As well, the lid is very difficult to remove; the metal rim on the kettle has loosened as a result of removing the lid as gently as we can. I'm very disappointed.

Second day of use. Kettle was left on the stove by accident for less than ten minutes either with just a bit of water and the lid was open (because the lid design is stupid and it doesn?t have the trigger so it closes automatically) or there was no water but felt like there was water because of the heavy weight of the kettle. I went in to the kitchen and saw it had been left on. The inside of the kettle was bright red in that short amount of time. I picked it up to put water in it and bringing it over to the sink the bottom fell off into the sink and molten silver coloured metal explodes onto the hardwood floor leaving deep burn marks and filling the house with smoke. This could not have been aluminum because aluminum has too high of a melting point and I have seen aluminum cans burn in a hot fire all night and not lose shape. This would have to have been a cheaper lower melting point metal and this scam of a company has the nerve to charge 125$ for this dangerous piece of crap. By the way I contacted them to ask what kind of metals they use and they completely deflected the question and refused to answer. Save yourself 100$ and buy a higher quality stainless steel kettle.

Drips Constantly
28 December 2022

The initial kettle we had poured well and worked well, but after several months the whistling spout was falling off as the pin holding it in was falling out. We contacted customer support who offered to send a whole new kettle (we would have preferred a replacement whistle and pin, but that wasn't an option). They did eventually send the replacement (FYI - you must return the product before the replacement is shipped, so keep the box as our problem was finding a box to ship it back in. Most companies do it the other way around so you can send the return in the new item's box, but not Le Creuset). We were pleased to get a replacement, but now this one drips all the time. It doesn't matter if we wait after boiling it (as suggested) or not, the water constantly backs up the spout and drips out when pouring (and it's not that full - making a single or two cups of tea only). If the original kettle had dripped this badly we would have returned it right away. Now unfortunately we can't do anything about it except pour boiling water all over our counters, floor and selves when we make tea. The kettle looks great, and heats very quickly on our induction stove, but whatever changed from the initial kettle and the replacement has made it very frustrating to use.

Great tea kettle. Don?t overfill!
30 May 2021

I love this tea kettle! It has a sturdy feel, heats quickly and certainly gets the job done. Not to mention the beautiful design - great center price for any range. Reviews that mention boiling water shooting out are likely because they?re over filling. I use this daily and have never experienced this once. Follow the instructions and you?ll be fine. Highly recommend!

Kettle has flaws I didn't expect
9 February 2023

I purchased this kettle to work with my induction stove. It is top quality and looks/works fantastic. Two minor comments I have are you have to manually flip up and down the whistle flap. If you have it down (whistling) you have to manually move it open before you can pour your water. This seems like a risk for steam burns to me. Second, the handle sits directly above the kettle, so once you start to pour, the angle is a bit awkward. My last kettle had a grip that was a bit further back and it felt much more balanced when pouring.

Le Creuset 1.7 qt Whistling Tea Kettle.
28 December 2018

I bought this on special to replace a cheaper kettle I got a few years ago that almost looked the same but inferior in all the other ways. I got the larger Le Creuset 1.7qt. kettle in Cerise (red/cherry). It arrived in a timely manner. I love this kettle and will probably buy another for the vacay home. It heats up quickly on medium heat due to the even heat distribution. There is absolutely no need to use heat higher than a medium. I usually pour once I see heat coming out of the hole in the spout, sometimes I wait til it boils and then I pour...it's great and doesn't sputter boiling water around. The handle is so nice, it never gets hot, warm but never hot...love. I've used it everyday since I got it. Yep, since it is still on sale I will get another 1.7qt for the vacay home and the smaller one for our small RV. I'm training myself to not leave unused water in the pot. To drain out water and dry with a towel then let it sit on my warmer ledge above the stove to dry out until my next use.

Paint/Exterior Falling Off With Infrequent Use
15 October 2022

I bought this kettle one year and three months ago (the orange one) from QVC. For the majority of the time, It has sat unused on the top of my stove since I purchased it. I rarely used it and it has not been abused or mis-handled. I started using the kettle in recent weeks. Now, however, the paint - and what appears to be the material down to the base metal - is falling off the kettle in amounts that is quite disconcerting. (See the photo I attached; all the debris you see has fallen off the kettle plus you can see the area where the materials are coming from.) I purposefully paid $100 for this kettle because I trust(ed) the name brand and was willing to invest in a kettle this expensive thinking it would last for many years. But, less than 1 1/2 years, the exterior is coming off. That is not acceptable. I have not damaged or bumped the kettle to cause this to happen. Its beyond my return timeframe with QVC so I'll be reaching out to Le Creuset to complain about the poor quality of this kettle. I do not recommend anyone purchase this kettle.

Regal and ez to clean
17 December 2022

Cover comes off and handle goes to side so inside is easy to clean. Love this beautiful pot! Water stays hot inside kettle for awhile, I bought the Oyster which matches most of my Le Creuset pots. The kettle looks so regal on my black stove which is where it will be kept. I?m enjoying the boiling water over the instant hot water spigot that I?ve used for the past 10 years. After using, I empty the pot and store with the inside dry which is what was suggested on the instructions that comes with it.

Second kettle I’ve had to purchase from le creuset
2 August 2022

I feel as though I need to write an honest review. I have only purchased these kettles for their aesthetic and because I have commit to having all le creuset items in my kitchen. The first one I purchased less than 4 years ago completely melted all the plastic pieces. Quite disappointing for the high price tag. This is the only le creuset piece I absolutely do not think is worth the price tag
