Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Signature Round Dutch Oven, 4.5 qt., Cerise
The French Oven's design yields moist, tender results for slow-simmered soups and stews. This versatile kitchen staple can be used for more than just comfort foods – experiment with no-knead bread or even use it to bake a cake! This high-quality pot is also commonly referred to as a Casserole or Dutch Oven. The latter term was widely adopted after the Dutch became famous for producing and exporting cookware in the 1700s. Le Creuset Enamelled Cast Iron cookware has been the world's quality benchmark for almost a century. Each piece is cast individually in sand molds and hand inspected by French artisans. The iconic cookware is beloved for both its chip-resistant enamel exterior, its tight fitting lid and superior heat retention that locks in flavour and keeps food moist and tender.

I already own this in ganache and later had buyer’s remorse for not buying the Olive, too! The stores nearest me sold out in the colors I wanted quickly. I’ve read plenty of reviews about customers having issues with online orders, but bit the bullet to get the colors I wanted. I received my order a couple of days ago. The 2.5qt French/stew pot in French (mist) Gray and the deep Dutch oven in Olive. Sure enough, I opened the box and the stew pot was less than I expected. First, the inside enamel appeared darker than my other pots. It’s similar to the inside enamel color of the Ganache, which I’ve used a few times already. However, I do believe the inside was lighter when I first bought it. The inside enamel was also darker than the Dutch oven in the same order. There are droplets of the light enamel coating on the cast iron rim of the lid. Not sure if this will effect the performance. Also little specks of indentation in the bottom of the pot and below the rim of the lid. When you make the choice to start collecting Le Creuset, you are giving yourself the best. It’s always a joy to open a new purchase . This was the first time I felt slighted. Where is the quality control?! This will be returned.

This pot is perfect for cooking for 1-2 people. The diameter without the handle measurement is 9 in, not 10 in, and it is 2 1/4 qt. The knob is also safe at 500F degrees as this item is from the signature series. At $150, this price is really hard to pass up if you’re looking for a smaller pot and have no use for a huge Dutch oven. The lid on this pot also fits perfectly over my 9 in Le Creuset skillet as well, so this is a bonus for me! Aside from various recipes, I plan on baking bread in this pot sometime in the near future - my first attempt at bread in a cast iron enamel pot. I can’t wait to use this beauty!

I absolutely love my Le Creuset Dutch oven! It's a true kitchen staple that I use on a regular basis. The heavy duty cast iron construction ensures even heat distribution, and the enamel coating makes it extremely easy to clean. It's perfect for making soups, stews, and braises, and the tight-fitting lid locks in moisture to keep food tender and flavorful. I also love that it's safe to use on the stovetop, in the oven, and even under the broiler. The versatility of this piece is unmatched, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a high-quality Dutch oven. 5 stars!

I’ve used Le Creuset cookware for 20+ years. My first piece was a 9qt second quality Classic Dutch Oven with the black Phenolic Knob. It has been my workhorse! I figured after all these years, it was time to replace the old girl for a couple reasons. The Signature pieces have larger handles than the Classic’s, which makes a difference with my arthritic hands being able to get a better grip. The Signature pieces also have the Stainless Knob, which can tolerate heat up to 500, whereas the Phenolic Knobs are only heat resistant up to 375. I order the same color, Cerise, and it arrived promptly and in perfect condition.
I use this nearly everyday multiple times a day because its just the perfect size to reheat a dish (if you don't like microwaving them) its so versatile, easy for a smaller family/portion sizes. I love the handle this one comes with because I have all older models (10+ years older) and they all came with the classic black knobs and you can't put those in the oven. I know now I can upgrade them, but they are $$$ so one at a time. That's why I can use this size pot so much and for everything. It's the perfect size for sauces, smaller casseroles, side dishes, and not as strenuous as the larger sizes. Highly recommend.
I purchased this dutch oven in white and in smaller sz because the 7.25qt that I purchased from another online store was just way too heavy for carrying. I really like this size, 2.75qt. It's perfect for our family of three and I've used it just about every chance I can. So far it is easy to clean. I would not suggest using any kind of metal in it. I made the mistake of using a metal skimmer to take the crumbs out while the duty oven was still being used and almost scratched the bottom of it. I used some baking soda and a soft sponge to scrub/wash it and thankfully the scratched looking marks came off! Baking soda is key to light scrubbing for these enamel cookware.I've been wanting a le creuset dutch oven for years now, so I'm thrilled there was a sale decent ... MoreI purchased this dutch oven in white and in smaller sz because the 7.25qt that I purchased from another online store was just way too heavy for carrying. I wouldn't buy it at full price because the lids do get quite hot during cooking time and you need a heatproof mat or glove to grab the lid each time. I would still recommend it though.
I use this pan almost every day cooking for my husband and myself. Of all my Lecreuset Children, this is the one I love the most. Why? Small but capacious size makes it suitable for most all purposes. High sides reduce splatter. Weight is heavy enough to ensure even cooking and delicious browning. Heavy/snug-fitting lid makes melting (say, for instance, for my grilled cheese sandwiches) easy to do without burning. It's a one-pan operation for me. First, I preheat the pan. Then soften/brown onion and mushrooms slices (at the same time on low heat). Then I move that mixture aside while I add buttered bread to the same pan, top with cheese and then ioad mushrooms and onions before topping with sprouts, and finally another slice of bread (buttered side up). What I need to try next is to make bread in this fabulous little delight of a pan.
The pot is wonderful. Very big. Nice weight, beautiful finish. The yellow is much nicer in person. Full cooking surface for a wide range of foods. Will be a nice addition to our collection. The reason for losing a star was due to the shipping. Both pots ordered were put in a larger outer box with no padding. The result was both of our Le Creuset boxes (the orange ones that we use to store when not in use) were badly crushed. This is very unlike WS in regards to shipping. They usually wrap each box in bubble wrap, and then put in a large outer box with no damage. The outer box was way too large, and the top of it was completely crushed in, causing damage to both Le Creuset boxes. I took the credit and called Le Creuset, and they said there was nothing they could do.Very disappointing experience. Not used to this from WS.
I bought this about a month ago to complete our wedding registry. It’s perfect timing for soup season and it does wonderfully for that! I was really torn between the other sizes and was worried this wouldn’t be big enough. This works great for all recipes I’ve made so far. Makes probably 6-8 standard servings with potential to make more (didn’t fill it all the way). It’s exactly what you’d expect from the brand - even heat distribution, able to safely be put in the oven, overall easy to clean (I have only hand washed). Also the chambray blue color is so pretty!! Definitely a color I’d recommend. Overall great size for a couple or small family and able to handle hosting a small group meal! Excited to keep using it.
Love the size of this, but was disappointed in the quality. The first one I got in Sea Salt color got rust spots along the edges after one use. After washing, I even made sure to leave the lid off for several days to allow it to dry. Took it back and ordered a replacement, but they no longer had the color I wanted; first world problem, I know, but when paying $200+ for a pot, I want it to be one that I love. Replacement did arrive speedily and after washing and drying, I oiled the edges so I wouldnt have another rust situation.I've used other Le Creuset dutch ovens and have never had this issue. Make sure you keep the edges oiled!
