Le Creuset Signature Cast Iron Oval Casserole, 31 cm - Teal

To preface, I love Threshold products, this was given to me as a gift. As an avid home cook, I was excited and hesitant to try the Threshold Cast Iron Dutch Oven to my kitchen essentials because I haven’t owned any of their kitchen appliances and I’ve heard not so great things about their cookware. Unfortunately, this gift left much to be desired. While cast iron cookware is renowned for its even heat distribution and durability, this particular Dutch oven fell short in several key areas. Moreover, the cleaning process was far more laborious than with other cast iron cookware in my collection. Despite my best efforts, stubborn food residue seemed to cling to the surface, requiring excessive scrubbing and soaking to remove. This not only added extra time to my post-cooking routine but also led to concerns about damaging the seasoning of the Dutch oven over time. Overall, while the Threshold Cast Iron Dutch Oven 6qt may initially seem like a budget-friendly option, its subpar performance ultimately makes it a poor investment for serious home cooks. From inconsistent cooking results to difficult cleaning processes, this Dutch oven fails to live up to the standards expected of cast iron cookware. I would strongly advise looking elsewhere for a more reliable and user-friendly option. One last thing that I forgot to mention… The cast iron cracked after 4 uses while I was cooking!! I’ve never had an issue with any of my cast irons breaking so easily. I would never recommend their cooking appliances, however, everything else is amazing!l

A lifetime of Le Creuset

I have been using my Le Creuset for 60 years! It was given to me by my mom when I got married. I have always loved it and always use it. There is a distinct difference in the taste of anything you cook that is better than any other set of cookware. I accidentally found this out the first time when I had a French Dinner Party and cooked Coq au Van in 2 caseroles One being Le Creuset. The other just a good cookware. The difference was astounding !!! I gave the guests the one in the Le Creuset and family the other! They raved about the dinner non stop. I have never had anything happen to any one of them. I highly recommend this product ! Who ever heard of something lasting that long!!!!

Another perfect pan!

Le Creuset is always a quality product that I am happy with purchasing and this pan was no different. It is a good size and my current go to pan. The shape and size make it versatile to almost anything you cook, perfect performance, beautiful look and outstanding results every time. I admit I was at first resistant to the higher prices of this brand, but then I got tired of replacing cheaper ones every two years. This cookware takes a beating and never looks worse for the wear. Cast Iron also achieves a performance level aluminum, stainless steel, ceramic coated, etc. just never can. Heat retention is amazing, don't have to use high heat to cook, keeps food warm after cooking, seamless transition from stove top to oven to table. Beautiful Mauve Pink But With Blemish

I was one of the lucky customers who purchased the new mauve pink color. I received it yesterday and was so excited to open the box because I’ve been wanting a larger oval Dutch oven (I have a 5qt oval Staub which I love). First of all, the color is very pretty. I can’t wait to use it. However, upon a closer inspection, I found a noticeable blemish on the upper rim of the vessel. The paint didn’t thoroughly cover it because you can see the exposed black cast iron. It’s small but still for the price (and shipping) you expect perfection (lol, for me anyway). Bummed that I received it this way but it’s still useable.

Booo to Le Creuset

I ordered and received the 8qt Le Creuset Dutch Oven. So far, so good. The first time using it was not so good. The lid leaked!! The condensation that was supposed to return to the pot, was dripping all over my stove top.. I tried to reseat the lid several times without success. The burner was on low medium. The liquid in the pot was about 1 and 1/2 cups. I have other lidded Le Creuset and have never had this issue.Well, anyway, I called Le Creuset for advice and to see if they had heard of such a problem. I was informed that the 8 quart Dutch Oven is a QVC product , and they don't even carry the product. No help, no attempt at figuring out why it was leaking. Nope it's a QVC product see ya later. It arrived in perfect condition!

I’ve used Le Creuset cookware for 20+ years. My first piece was a 9qt second quality Classic Dutch Oven with the black Phenolic Knob. It has been my workhorse! I figured after all these years, it was time to replace the old girl for a couple reasons. The Signature pieces have larger handles than the Classic’s, which makes a difference with my arthritic hands being able to get a better grip. The Signature pieces also have the Stainless Knob, which can tolerate heat up to 500, whereas the Phenolic Knobs are only heat resistant up to 375. I order the same color, Cerise, and it arrived promptly and in perfect condition.

I debated about size, and finally chose the 5.5 quart one. I think it's perfect for me in preparing recipes thatmake enough for 4 or 5 people. I wouldn't want larger. Usually I'm cooking for just two of us, and I can getenough made for two separate meals, if not three. The weight isn't that heavy, it's easy to handle, pick up,and clean. When you cook with these Le Creuset dutch ovens, you have to modify your use of high heat. I havea gas stove, and I keep the flame at medium to medium low, and many things once heated get turned down toa low simmer. The pan cleans up like new every time. If you let it cool, then fill with water to soak for 5 minutes,whatever is on the pan will come off with no effort at all. I hand wash, then dry the pan. With this kind of careful but not difficult care, the pan will continue to look beautifuland like new. I bought my pan in the beautiful dark teal color, which seems to now be discontinued. I alreadyhad a bunch of wood and silicone cooking utensils, and I don't plan to use metal except perhaps a soup ladle,which wouldn't scratch the pan anyway. The ceramic interior is very strong, but I don't want to risk scratches.This pan and this size is highly recommended as it's big enough but a manageable size and weight.

Perfect gift!

I bought this casserole pot in the 20cm size in Navy for a wedding present and the recipients were absolutely thrilled! The navy is a really lovely dark deep blue colour and has a shine finish. It comes in a substantial Le Creuset box which protects the product well. I have my own Le Creuset pot at home for years and it is the best cookware purchase I've ever made. I use it pretty much every day; they are so hard-wearing, wash well and the non-stick is outstanding. I highly recommend these pots and will for sure be buying more in different colours/sizes in the future as I expand my cookware collection!

The enamel QUALITY is POOR and DON'T RELY on WARRANT

I'm a working mom of two. I love my kids and cook every day to feed them well. I also appreciate the cozy house and esthetic kitchen. I decided to splurge money into 5 le creuset cookware pieces (small and big saucepans, dutch oven, pan and the braiser). It's very expensive however I decided that it will add aesthetics (color Chalot mmm, dreamy) also it will add variation of cooking techniques and also will serve me decades and finally will serve my daughter when she'll be the mom. I believed the quality promised by La Creuset and their lifetime warranty. And you know what- it's total SCAM! My beautiful chalot color pan got cracked very soon as I started to use it (EXTREMELY CAREFUL!!!!) and customer service just refused to fix or exchange it!!!! So don't waste your money. It does not worth it AT ALL

Very large great pot, Terrible WS Shipping/Packing

The pot is wonderful. Very big. Nice weight, beautiful finish. The yellow is much nicer in person. Full cooking surface for a wide range of foods. Will be a nice addition to our collection.The reason for losing a star was due to the shipping. Both pots ordered were put in a larger outer box with no padding. The result was both of our Le Creuset boxes (the orange ones that we use to store when not in use) were badly crushed. This is very unlike WS in regards to shipping. They usually wrap each box in bubble wrap, and then put in a large outer box with no damage. The outer box was way too large, and the top of it was completely crushed in, causing damage to both Le Creuset boxes.
