I purchased this brasier as my go-to pot for daily meals that involve frying and sauteeing and it's been a dream. I've used it for a variety of meals, none of them involve braising at all. It's great for sautéing vegetables, frying tofu, baking cardamom rolls, stir-frying noodles, and making just about everything else you use a frying pan for. Just be sure to use enough oil (or deglaze as required) to make clean-up a breeze. I've needed some elbow grease (and heating it up with water at the bottom) to get it clean a few times (particularly after a gnocchi & Brussels sprouts dish) but it's always come out looking brand new. I'd highly recommend this beautiful, quality product for a lifetime of cooking. I leave it out on the stove all the time because it's so nice to ... MoreI purchased this brasier as my go-to pot for daily meals that involve frying and sauteeing and it's been a dream. Le Creusets reputation as the best maker of cast iron casseroles is very welldeserved in my opinion. This is my third purchase of a similar item, one given as a gift. My oldest Le Creuset, very similar to this one, is over fifteen years old and despite quite regular use is as effective and useful as ever with some expected slight discolouring that doesnt detract from its performance. The Le Creuset casseroles as easy to use, whether on the hob or in the oven. Just as importantly, they are extremely easy to clean. Ive cooked lots of different things, Ive occasionally overcooked things that have stuck a little, but every time the casserole is easily cleaned. I find that the heat distribution is excellent as well, for consistent and even cooking. Id highly recommend ... MoreLe Creusets reputation as the best maker of cast iron casseroles is very welldeserved in my opinion. This is my third purchase of a similar item, one given as a gift. I like how over the years the handle on the lid has changed to become metal, which should make it harder to break. I did once drop a lid and break a bit off the handle, but this should not be an issue with this latest Le Creuset casserole.A slight issue is that the listing at the time of writing lists the capacity at 8.4 litres, whereas the label on the box states 8.1 litres. A small difference but perhaps something to be aware of.

This I have had for many years, and it is simple to look after, and with some basic knowledge will last for my entire life - warm up slowly, clean via soaking and then wipe with a soft cloth, don't subject to temperature shock.Ethically I'm more comfortable with an item made in France than some Far East countries. That comes with a price though hence one star off...they are expensive! But back to the product... the first tip I have, is to go for a darker shade rather than a lighter shade, as they can gather tiny little splat marks over the years. Easy to clean regardless of colour but darker in hindsight would be my choice. If taking one of the trend colours these seem to exist for ca. two - three years so stock up accessories in matching shade whilst you ... MoreThis I have had for many years, and it is simple to look after, and with some basic knowledge will last for my entire life - warm up slowly, clean via soaking and then wipe with a soft cloth, don't subject to temperature shock.Ethically I'm more comfortable with an item made in France than some Far East countries. This is my third purchase from Harts of Stur. I always find the staff to be super helpful, efficient and they always send out my purchases by next day! This is incredible as I’m based in Essex. The goods arrive in fully recyclable/biodegradable packaging. They have previously price matched 2 of these items and as they are reliable and so speedy at delivering the products I always prefer to use them instead of other suppliers.I have purchased the le creuset shallow casserole in cerise 30cm. This is an excellent sized pot with a lid which I will use most days. I have used it so far to cook a sausage casserole. The sausages had a lovely, even golden brown rather than the darker brown from my previous frying pan. The lid is very helpful and I prefer the larger handles ... MoreThis is my third purchase from Harts of Stur. I loved the look of the matte white LeCreuset round dutch oven, until I put it on my $3000 Thermador induction cooktop. We noticed slight scratches we never had seen before the first time we used it, but thought it couldn't possibly be the LeCreuset so used it again and now have several huge scratches on the cooktop. I am so incredibly upset. You don't expect an expensive pot like this to scratch your cooktop. I have used an oval #31 LeCreuset for years on the cooktop without any issues. I believe the problem lies with thematte white color which has a rough texture rather than the shiny smooth standard one.
I have waited a long time to start my own Le Creuset collection. I love to cook, and I've always heard such great things about the Le Creuset brand. However, they are quite pricey! I finally decided to splurge on the 5.5 Round Dutch Oven - and I am so glad I did! I've made stuffed peppers, marinara sauce and a pot of soup so far. It warms up quickly and cooks so evenly - its amazing. On top of everything, clean-up is a joy. It just wipes clean. I purchased the Meringue color and it is gorgeous! My biggest decision now is whether to collect all the same color - or mix them up! Either way, my collection will definitely be growing.
The product is great. Trying to buy it from David Jones was a nightmare. Bought it online to collect at store. Went to store 5 hours later over lunch to get it. Was told it hadn’t been “picked up” yet and I would need to come back later. Went to the kitchen section and got the cast iron pan in a box for them. Was then told that they needed to “pick it” and I couldn’t have this one. After a long discussion, I left the store without the product and went to a competitor that rhyme with “fyers”. What a terrible experience.
To be honest I bought this pen because of the color ! (Cool mint) I do not have a lot of experience with cast iron but they kept talking about the sear you get and heat retention. My other concern was that I have a glass stove top and heard a story about the color coming off and sticking to the burner therefore ruining it. However to be fair I think they left it burning at high heat and had let the liquid run dry. So for 3 yrs I’ve been scared to use any pan with a colored/painted bottom for fear of that story. After doing a little reading online it said to use medium heat for searing and low for simmering etc. so my tip is just go down a little compared to if your used to using other pans. I had no trouble with paint from the bottom burning off and onto my stove ... MoreTo be honest I bought this pen because of the color ! I had no trouble with paint from the bottom burning off and onto my stove top. I just cooked a steak and put the dial right in the middle and it was perfect just don’t be tempted to turn up the heat like I was. Also it said do not pre-heat your pan with nothing in it just put a pat of butter or oil while pre-heating. Please Nate get us some more matching pieces/ utensils crocks etc in this cool mint ! I am obsessed! I also ordered the coffee mug and mini crocette and the TSV from last week and I love them all !! PS I dint want to put these pieces away they’re so pretty to look at they’ve been on my stove since I got them!!
I got one of these as a wedding gift almost 20 years ago from a John Lewis wedding gift list service. Although the price seems a lot for a casserole dish, the quality of these pots is incredible and only eclipsed by the amazing customer support I have received from Le Creuset. After being used almost daily for so many years we noticed some of the enamel was wearing away inside the pot. I emailed the Le Creuset UK helpline and attached photos of the pot. They were incredibly helpful and offered to send out a free replacement which arrived a few days later. TBH I thought 20 years of service was a good innings but Le Creuset really mean it when they guarantee these things for life.
It took two tries to finally receive my item. Love the French grey color and the width. Was given this as a Christmas gift and it came four weeks late after saying it would come on 12/17. When it arrived, in a large half opened box, the side was cracked all the way through and a big chunk of the enamel on the outside was missing(didn't even know thiswas possible). Had to take it back to the store, came home and was ordered another by the gift giver. Came in a week but said it was delivered and it was not. Had to scour the neighborhood and finally found it at a condo complex in the neighborhood. The Le Crueset box on the inside was all chewed up but the product seems fine. I am not sure I would order anything of value from WS again as they seem to have shipping ... MoreIt took two tries to finally receive my item. Love the French grey color and the width. Big disappointment for my kids not to have a gift for me on Christmas but even bigger disappointment to go through the hassle of dragging the item around.
