The first ever Le Creuset casserole I got was for my wedding may moons ago. Since then, I bought at least a dozen items. I got this shallow casserole in pale blue because it looks so beautiful.I don't know why I bought all these Le Creuset casseroles because they are a pain tp clean. Most food stick to the bottom. While you can remove it after a long soak, after a few uses, the enamel gets stained and cannot be restored to its initial splendour.Another problem is that you should not put them in the dishwasher because it will damage it in the long run. And boy, it is so heavy to wash by hand. So, I only use them very occasionally and they just sit in a corner of my kitchen looking thoroughly stylish. The only two items I use more often is the non stick frying pan ... MoreThe first ever Le Creuset casserole I got was for my wedding may moons ago. Please note: do not over heat these, as they will get damaged.I must say the shiny exterior enamel of all my Le Creuset items have stayed as new as the day I got them. Shame I cannot say that for the interior.

I ordered a 4 1/2 quart Le Creuset soup pot in sea salt from the Williams Sonoma website. The description on the website said the interior would be tan. When I received the soup pot, the interior was black. I called customer service regarding the wrong color interior. They said to send the soup pot back and they would send me another soup pot with the correct color interior. When the second soup pot arrived it also had the black interior. I returned the second soup pot and am frustrated by Williams Sonoma’s inability to provide a product as described on their website. I had intended to give the soup pot as a gift…that’s not happening now. I have several other pieces of Le Creuset that I have purchased from Williams Sonoma and the interiors are tan except for my 10” ... MoreI ordered a 4 1/2 quart Le Creuset soup pot in sea salt from the Williams Sonoma website. I already own this in ganache and later had buyer’s remorse for not buying the Olive, too! The stores nearest me sold out in the colors I wanted quickly. I’ve read plenty of reviews about customers having issues with online orders, but bit the bullet to get the colors I wanted. I received my order a couple of days ago. The 2.5qt French/stew pot in French (mist) Gray and the deep Dutch oven in Olive. Sure enough, I opened the box and the stew pot was less than I expected. First, the inside enamel appeared darker than my other pots. It’s similar to the inside enamel color of the Ganache, which I’ve used a few times already. However, I do believe the inside was lighter when I first bought it. The inside enamel was also darker than the Dutch oven in the same order. There are droplets of the light enamel coating on the cast iron rim of the lid. Not sure if this will effect the performance. Also little specks of indentation in the bottom of the pot and below the rim of the lid. When you make the choice to start collecting Le Creuset, you are giving yourself the best. It’s always a joy to open a new purchase . This was the first time I felt slighted. Where is the quality control?! This will be returned.

I first purchased the braiser in the 3.5 qt size, which is a good size for groups of 4-6 people depending on what you are making. I most often cook for 2, so this is the perfect size for 2-3 people. Like all of Le Creuset's cast iron pieces, it cooks evenly and is easy to clean. I use it for items as simple as scrambled eggs, frittatas, rice dishes, steak, sausages....the list goes on. I like that this also has a lid which gives it more versatility; it's nice not to waste foil as a "lid". The quality is excellent. I have many cast iron pieces by Le Creuset and have used them for 20+ years. They are spendy but they are made to last generations.
Just received today, and I can tell this will be a jack of many trades. Its large, round, and sloped sides allow it to fill multiple roles: Oven, stovetop wok, braiser, slow cooker, and soup/pasta pot. Big capacity with 7.5 quarts. It's substantial but not overly heavy either, which is nice. However, older chefs may prefer a smaller, lighter piece for everyday use. Love the Deep teal color, which sadly is being discontinued. One nitpick, there was some minor sloppy overspray of the exterior color enamel on the interior of the piece I received. It was minor pin sized splatter of the exterior color enamel. I do not know if this is common to this model, or a one-off, but none of my other Le Creuset pieces have had any accidental splatter of enamel like that. I do not know if this is common to this model, or a one-off, but none of my other Le Creuset pieces have had any accidental splatter of enamel like that. Even accounting for the second quality, it's a fine piece for a decent price, especially on sale in the Deep Teal color.
I’ve used Le Creuset cookware for 20+ years. My first piece was a 9qt second quality Classic Dutch Oven with the black Phenolic Knob. It has been my workhorse! I figured after all these years, it was time to replace the old girl for a couple reasons. The Signature pieces have larger handles than the Classic’s, which makes a difference with my arthritic hands being able to get a better grip. The Signature pieces also have the Stainless Knob, which can tolerate heat up to 500, whereas the Phenolic Knobs are only heat resistant up to 375. I order the same color, Cerise, and it arrived promptly and in perfect condition.
So happy with my 3.5 qt braiser in Olive! I have a Staub braiser, which I like very much, but the black honeycomb surface is not a good surface for certain types of cooking - especially if it involves browning or deglazing - and food just looks better on the ivory background of Le Creuset and I like to bring this pan right to the table for serving. I am so happy with the Olive color - I was worried it would look 70s avocado, but it doesn't. It goes so well with my Portmeirion china which variations of green in each of the varied plate patterns. Also looks great with our all white china and Christmas dishes, too! Heavy, great heat conductivity - so far everything from risotto to braised stuffed cabbage to chicken has turned out great. Love this braiser!
I purchased this in the olive green as a way to remind me of my mother’s “avocado” kitchen in the 1970’s! This pot is large enough to cook for a family of four but not so large that it is unmanageable in terms of it’s weight! The special price of $229 was too good to pass up, not to mention all the wonderful colors. A few words of advice: always use silicone or wooden utensils to prevent scratches or damage to this vessel, always wait until this pot cools down before submerging in cold water to prevent thermal shock and lastly, only use non-abrasive pads to clean. If you do this, your lovely pot will look as good as new forever. Enjoy your new Le Creuset dutch oven!
I use this pan almost every day cooking for my husband and myself. Of all my Lecreuset Children, this is the one I love the most. Why? Small but capacious size makes it suitable for most all purposes. High sides reduce splatter. Weight is heavy enough to ensure even cooking and delicious browning. Heavy/snug-fitting lid makes melting (say, for instance, for my grilled cheese sandwiches) easy to do without burning. It's a one-pan operation for me. First, I preheat the pan. Then soften/brown onion and mushrooms slices (at the same time on low heat). Then I move that mixture aside while I add buttered bread to the same pan, top with cheese and then ioad mushrooms and onions before topping with sprouts, and finally another slice of bread (buttered side up). Put the lid ... MoreI use this pan almost every day cooking for my husband and myself. Of all my Lecreuset Children, this is the one I love the most. Why? What I need to try next is to make bread in this fabulous little delight of a pan.
The pot is wonderful. Very big. Nice weight, beautiful finish. The yellow is much nicer in person. Full cooking surface for a wide range of foods. Will be a nice addition to our collection. The reason for losing a star was due to the shipping. Both pots ordered were put in a larger outer box with no padding. The result was both of our Le Creuset boxes (the orange ones that we use to store when not in use) were badly crushed. This is very unlike WS in regards to shipping. They usually wrap each box in bubble wrap, and then put in a large outer box with no damage. The outer box was way too large, and the top of it was completely crushed in, causing damage to both Le Creuset boxes.
