A gorgeous pan, perfect for slow cooking

This is the second Le Creuset pan I've purchased. The first one was a smaller cassadou pan. This pan is almost twice the capacity. It's perfect for good sized pot roasts or for chilis, you name it. Le Creuset pans are great for slow cooking and slow baking. (Like an apple/pork dish that I make.) Now that I have a good sized pot I'm going to make some pork ribs, which cook for eight to ten hours on a low heat and see how they come out. Visually this new pan is stunning. I got the agave color, which is a gorgeous shade of deep turquoise. It's satisfying to have world class cookware that is also so pretty to look at and dresses up a kitchen when it's not in use.

Another perfect pan!

Le Creuset is always a quality product that I am happy with purchasing and this pan was no different. It is a good size and my current go to pan. The shape and size make it versatile to almost anything you cook, perfect performance, beautiful look and outstanding results every time. I admit I was at first resistant to the higher prices of this brand, but then I got tired of replacing cheaper ones every two years. This cookware takes a beating and never looks worse for the wear. Cast Iron also achieves a performance level aluminum, stainless steel, ceramic coated, etc. just never can. Heat retention is amazing, don't have to use high heat to cook, keeps food warm after cooking, seamless transition from stove top to oven to table. Disappointed with online purchase.

I already own this in ganache and later had buyer’s remorse for not buying the Olive, too! The stores nearest me sold out in the colors I wanted quickly. I’ve read plenty of reviews about customers having issues with online orders, but bit the bullet to get the colors I wanted. I received my order a couple of days ago. The 2.5qt French/stew pot in French (mist) Gray and the deep Dutch oven in Olive. Sure enough, I opened the box and the stew pot was less than I expected. First, the inside enamel appeared darker than my other pots. It’s similar to the inside enamel color of the Ganache, which I’ve used a few times already. However, I do believe the inside was lighter when I first bought it. The inside enamel was also darker than the Dutch oven in the same order. There are droplets of the light enamel coating on the cast iron rim of the lid. Not sure if this will effect the performance. Also little specks of indentation in the bottom of the pot and below the rim of the lid. When you make the choice to start collecting Le Creuset, you are giving yourself the best. It’s always a joy to open a new purchase . This was the first time I felt slighted. Where is the quality control?! This will be returned.

Every single pan I own
27 July 2024

About fifteen years ago I discovered the joy of cooking with cast iron enamel pans. I purchased a very inexpensive set that was beautiful, but cumbersome, dead heavy, and rather poor quality, suffering chips and worn enamel in short order. But it was enough for me to fall in love with cast iron enamel, and I decided to invest in Le Creuset. After getting my first pan, I was hooked; I love the way the heat radiated throughout the pan, evenly cooking food and keeping it hot from stove to table, so I continued collecting pieces. With so many beautiful colors, naturally it was impossible to stick with just one, so I now have several different colors in my collection, and I probably have too many. I display them on a metal étagière in the kitchen. My favorite piece is ... MoreAbout fifteen years ago I discovered the joy of cooking with cast iron enamel pans. With so many beautiful colors, naturally it was impossible to stick with just one, so I now have several different colors in my collection, and I probably have too many. I display them on a metal étagière in the kitchen. My favorite piece is the large braiser in Coastal Blue, which is so beautiful that I can’t imagine why they discontinued it. Maybe it didn’t sell. Other favorites colors are Ocean, Meringue, and all the whites. There’s one tomato red Dutch oven, I don’t remember the actual color name, but it’s brighter than Cerise, and I love how it reigns among the white and blue. Oh, did I mention they are all such a pleasure for both cooking and serving? Yeah. And I’ve never had a problem cleaning up, even on the few occasions when food got burned on the bottom. Every piece still looks beautiful! Maybe it’s because with so many pieces, no single one gets constant use, but I’ve also heard from people who use one pan for everything, and I totally get it. If you’re not squeamish about a little lifting, I heartily recommend you try Le Creuset’s cast iron enamel cookware. Good luck choosing a color.

Glad to have this new French Oven
8 November 2024

I live in a small NYC apartment, and every item that I acquire has to earn its space. I am delighted to have added the Le Creuset 2 1/2 quart French Oven to my kitchen equipment. I have other Le Creuset pieces, but a recent promotional price tempted me to add to that collection. It's a great size, and has already been the key player in a delicious lentil stew, with Andouille sausages and lots of veg, that I recently prepared. That was the test drive...as the weather cools I am sure to be using this cast iron French Oven very regularly. It was great to have a Williams Sonoma shop within walking distance so that I could also benefit from the information that an excellent sales association provided me, prior to my placing an online order that arrived very efficiently.

Other than my chef's knife, the 6 3/4 qt. Le Creuset Signature Enameled Cast Iron Round Wide Dutch Oven is the single most cherished piece of cookware I own. I own a lot of cookware, but excluding nonstick cooking, the Round Wide Dutch Oven is the one piece of cookware that seems able to do the job of everything else.I can sear steaks and any kind of meat with it if I want. I can make a gumbo or a nice pot of red sauce for spaghetti. I can braise. I can broil. I can poach eggs. I can build a roux or nurse along a gravy. I can roast. Spatchcocked Dutch oven turkey turns out fantastic. And just this weekend I used my Round Wide Dutch Oven to make Pernil, a Puerto Rican pork shoulder roast, that delighted both family and friends. And with its beautiful nectar ... MoreOther than my chef's knife, the 6 3/4 qt. Happy shopping, and as Jacques Pepin likes to say, happy cooking!

LOVE this extra wide Dutch oven!
21 January 2024

This dutch oven is my favorite pot ever, and I’ve been cooking for over 50 years! Cleans up like a breeze – never have any problem with the food sticking. And it’s wide shallow base allows me to brown meat more efficiently when making stews or braised short ribs. Also it’s so gorgeous that cooking in it it’s just a pleasure. I find excuses to cook things in it rather than my other pots. It’s also eliminated my need for a 12” frying pan because with this wide shallow base I can just use this instead. Can’t recommend it enough!

POOR QUALITY/FINISH
23 February 2024

I own many LeCreuset dutch ovens and braisers and recently purchased the 6 3/4 QT Round Wide Dutch oven in white. I love the size and lower sides of this dutch oven, however, it came with too many imperfections such as the iron being visible throughout the top of the lid and in the bottom of the pan. Looks like it was due to poor paint spraying and finish. I returned it to the store and the clerk ordered a replacement. When I got the replacement I noticed that they sent me the exact same dutch oven with the same imperfections so I took the second back to the store and was disappointed with the explanation from the store Clerck that the imperfections on the finish appears only on the white colored pans. Too bad that the quality has gone down on LeCreuset products, not worth it for the price.

The Perfect Pan for Small Households
13 May 2023

I use this pan almost every day cooking for my husband and myself. Of all my Lecreuset Children, this is the one I love the most. Why? Small but capacious size makes it suitable for most all purposes. High sides reduce splatter. Weight is heavy enough to ensure even cooking and delicious browning. Heavy/snug-fitting lid makes melting (say, for instance, for my grilled cheese sandwiches) easy to do without burning. It's a one-pan operation for me. First, I preheat the pan. Then soften/brown onion and mushrooms slices (at the same time on low heat). Then I move that mixture aside while I add buttered bread to the same pan, top with cheese and then ioad mushrooms and onions before topping with sprouts, and finally another slice of bread (buttered side up). What I need to try next is to make bread in this fabulous little delight of a pan.

Very large great pot, Terrible WS Shipping/Packing
6 July 2023

The pot is wonderful. Very big. Nice weight, beautiful finish. The yellow is much nicer in person. Full cooking surface for a wide range of foods. Will be a nice addition to our collection. The reason for losing a star was due to the shipping. Both pots ordered were put in a larger outer box with no padding. The result was both of our Le Creuset boxes (the orange ones that we use to store when not in use) were badly crushed. This is very unlike WS in regards to shipping. They usually wrap each box in bubble wrap, and then put in a large outer box with no damage. The outer box was way too large, and the top of it was completely crushed in, causing damage to both Le Creuset boxes.
