Beautiful whistle. The colour is not as expected.
We were excited to purchase our first le Creuset product. We chose the Classic Whistling Kettle in Cherry Red. While it is a really gorgeous looking kettle and has a lovely whistle, I was disappointed in the colour. Instead of being vibrant shades of cherry red (as it seems to show in the photo), in person it is really quite, well … orange. If I’d known that Cherry Red = more of a dark orange, I would have ordered the Agave colour instead. Also the spout doesn’t pour super well (lots of water on the counter if you pour too slowly). All said, however, it’s a jolly looking kettle and the sound is nostalgic. It’s also pretty clear that the product is well-made. It looks beautiful on the stove.... Show more

Bread oven
The colour of the bread oven, chambray, is so beautiful that I keep it on display on my kitchen counter, along with my brasier. Bake enough sourdough that I ordered it as a dedicated bread oven rather than using my dutch oven all then time, especially since I use my dutch oven almost daily for stews and soups. Chambray is my favourite colour, I now have the bread oven, skillet, trivet, mini round cocottes and the brasier. My dutch oven is blueberry, but that's only because the chambray colour wasn't available at the time of purchase. If I do buy a second dutch oven it will be in chambray too. Very pleased with my purchases.... Show more

Disappointed in the quality
So I was happy to buy this dishes set due to the fact that I thought the quality would be very good. The dishes are very heavy- and fold down the prongs in the dishwasher- but I was very unhappy to see the bowls getting black marks all over them- almost like the layer of glaze on the bowls was too thin. Now the bowls look awful. I contacted Customer Support because I thought they were defective and wanted them to replace the bowls. All I got from them was- get some Barkeeper's Friend- and clean/scrub off the black marks! What?! Either way I do not recommend these dishes. I am going to drop these off at Goodwill and get new dishes.... Show more

Enamel Cracks
Love LeCreuset cookware and have used it almost exclusively for over thirty years..for Christmas I received a Williams-Sonoma gift card from our son. I excitedly placed an order for an 8 qt LeCreuset stockpot and several other items I had been wanting. The stockpot was used once and put in a cabinet used for items infrequently used. I got it out May 25 (4 months after receiving it). It has an inch plus crack on the lid and the enamel is beginning to flake off. I have a 10 qt Stockpot at over twenty years old that has been used many many times…it has no cracks and no problems; my multiple 30+ years old LeCreuset pots have no problems other than normal wear, which does not include any chipping. I noticed several reviews on William-Sonoma complaining about chipped ... I noticed several reviews on William-Sonoma complaining about chipped stockpots sold by William-Sonoma. I should have paid attention and closely examined the pot when it arrived. William-Sonoma bluntly refuses to stand behind the products they sell. Be very cautious when ordering here. If you have cooking friends, warn them not to purchase LeCreuset pans from William-Sonoma.... Show more

Great product but with a design flaw.
Body and lid beautiful and functional. Easy to clean. However, the metal components - the filter and upper and lower parts, and the plunger shaft, need redesigned. The ferrule on the bottom of the shaft or the finial at the top of the shaft, needs to be fixed in position, rather than screwed on. This is because it is possible for the finial to become unscrewed, making it near impossible to remove the filter parts for cleaning. A pair of pliers is then required to grip the shaft (leaving scratches) in order to remove the filter components. This is a problem with many cafetiere, but shouldn't be with a premium brand like Le Creuset.... Show more

I am SO angry & disappointed. Take this comment SERIOUSLY!
I made a point of reading all the instructions, even though I'm an experienced cook, because Le Creuset is supposed to be one of the BEST, and I wanted to make sure I used it properly. The very FIRST time I cooked on it, I used a low setting (as suggested) and regardless of the type of food; protein, carb, fat, etc. it stuck to the pan. Not just sticky, wipe off with a sponge, but stuck on- ENGRAINED in the pan itself! I used the pan a few more times just to make sure I wasn't losing my mind, but it is definitely an inferior product. It looks like the coating was sprayed on so thinly, that it makes the pan virtually useless. Someone at Le Creuset thought they would save money by putting on less surface coating to save a few cents and then NOT PAY for the return ... It's my go to!
I couldn't wait to get this baby out of the box, and use it. I've been using Le Creuset cast iron skillets, for years now, but I wanted to invest in better cookware, and purchased a small Dutch oven (2qt), and this Cassadou (both in chiffon pink 😍)This Cassadou quickly became my go-to, for ALL things. I've fried chicken, pork chops, and baby back ribs. I've made one pot pasta meals, and homemade gravy. I've even used it to bake homemade cinnamon rolls in, and I'm telling you, it cooks PERFECTLY every time. I plan on using it for my Mississippi pot roast, instead of my slow cooker, and I'm sure it'll taste even better. My mom's birthday is in April, and I plan on purchasing a Cassadou for her. Love, Love Love this Dutch Oven
I debated about size, and finally chose the 5.5 quart one. I think it's perfect for me in preparing recipes thatmake enough for 4 or 5 people. I wouldn't want larger. Usually I'm cooking for just two of us, and I can getenough made for two separate meals, if not three. The weight isn't that heavy, it's easy to handle, pick up,and clean. When you cook with these Le Creuset dutch ovens, you have to modify your use of high heat. I havea gas stove, and I keep the flame at medium to medium low, and many things once heated get turned down toa low simmer. The pan cleans up like new every time. If you let it cool, then fill with water to soak for 5 minutes, whatever is on the pan will come off with no effort at all. I hand wash, then dry the pan. I'm not planning ... With this kind of careful but not difficult care, the pan will continue to look beautifuland like new. I bought my pan in the beautiful dark teal color, which seems to now be discontinued. I alreadyhad a bunch of wood and silicone cooking utensils, and I don't plan to use metal except perhaps a soup ladle, which wouldn't scratch the pan anyway. The ceramic interior is very strong, but I don't want to risk scratches. This pan and this size is highly recommended as it's big enough but a manageable size and weight.... Show more

Shallot color is beige
I got the product today. Online the color on my device looks like it has a pink undertone. The reality is it looks like the meringue color display instead. A mushroomy biege. It is not an attractive color to me. But the price was excellent and heavily discounted for the 9 inch size at time of purchase. It is a handy size but it just doesn't fit well stacked between sizes of my ancient cream interior glaze small (22cm) and large skillet (26cm). These pre date the current classic skillet. I've also got a very small (16cm) one if those and I like this signature shape over the other two types I have. The workmanship on this one could be better, the glazing over the lettering looks crude and pinholed. However, the helper handle is an excellent feature and 9 inch is large ... However, the helper handle is an excellent feature and 9 inch is large enough to do a two person dish. The helper handle is sized large enough to use a pot holder securely. The advantage of the black satin finish is it does not discolor. It is not a substitute for a no stick. You have to use butter or olive oil with almost anything. Makes excellent frittata with nice browned bottom crust.... Show more

Wish They Could Get My Return Right
I have owned Le Crueset cookware and wanted to gift the 5-piece set to my daughter who recently moved into her own home. I ordered the "Shallot" set. The set was delivered on September 12th and my daughter quickly realized it was the wrong color. Every piece was "Flame." I contacted customer service to submit a return and replace request. I received the shipping label and instructions. My daughter returned the set. On October 16th, my daughter finally received the replacement set. Upon her dismay, the 5-piece set was again in the wrong color--Flame.I have once again contacted customer service to submit a return request. If they can't get it right, this time, I'm done. It's truly unfortunate because I love the quality of cookware, but refuse to pay for the wrong color.... Show more
