Le Labo - Conditioner Basil - 250mL

First, let me be clear that I am reviewing the Le Labo, HINOKI scented conditioner not the BASIL scented and not lotion as it was the only selection that would come up when I searched. The Hinoki is one of my favorite smells. It is second to only Oud. I am not crazy about fruit or rose smelling products. This conditioner not only smells amazing but it actually makes my hair feel super soft and so shiny. It is very thick and you don’t need much at all!! Detangles like a dream

This is the only conditioner that detangles my long, overly dyed hair easily and makes it look strong and healthy. I didn’t expect a perfume company to make such a good conditioner. You only need a very small amount to do the job. The consistency is very thick so I usually store the bottle upside down. Also it smells divine of course.

For dry hair

I love the scent of hinoki, which not only moisturizes dry hair that has become brittle, but also relaxes the mind. It is recommended to use it with the lid facing down as it has a very sloppy style. Otherwise, you will need a lot of force when you squeeze it to use it. As a dry hair treatment, I am using it 3 to 4 times a week and I can feel the hair texture is very soft. However, I have aged and dry type of hair that is neither dyed nor permed. So I can't guarantee that it will have the same effect on my hair that has been damaged by dyeing or perm.

Hair feels soo soft

I brought this after reading reviews on the shampoo and conditioner. My hair feels soo soft now and it’s less frizzy. Lucky I read the reviews to put the conditioner bottle upside down as they were right! It is impossible to get out if you keep it the right way up. You don’t need much, and I felt a difference in my hair on the first day. The scent is lovely. It sticks with you all day, it’s not overpowering though.

Hair is sooo soft

The smell is strong. I agree with that. I’m not a fan of the scent right out of the bottle, but all of Le Labo line has a very strong. Your hair won’t smell that strong. It is the only conditioner that truly moisturizes my thin, damaged hair. It doesn’t make my hair greasy or weighed down. I’ve used olaplex and k18, oribe, and just about every other hair care line, and this is the best at smoothing my damaged, highlighted hair. The bees knees.

Hinoki scent

The second ingredient in the shampoo is sls. So if you're avoiding that then don't buy this shampoo. This will clean your hair, it's not a moisturizing shampoo. So use a high moisture conditioner after if you have dry or curly hair. I used the same scent conditioner after and my hair felt good but they need more styling and moisturizing products. Just these two don't cut it for definition. The smell is pleasant like an earthy spa smell. But the smell is faint and doesn't last long. There's better out there for the price. You're paying just for the name.

Love this and the scent!

I’ve been trying to find a new shampoo and tried pureology first, but it left my hair feeling dry and never looked nice no matter how I styled it. I think le labo is severely underrated and my hair looks so healthy and clean when using this. I was a little hesitant on the scent, but love it as it’s a more earthy smell but is so calming. Can’t recommend this shampoo enough

Smells great, not a good shampoo though

I tried a sample of this and I loved the smell so I thought I would try the full size. On the plus side it still smells great, its a green woody smoky smell thats so lovely, however as a shampoo its quite poor. I find it very drying, it made my scalp very flaky and also made my hair quite rough and sort of poofy/frizzy, even my partner who never notices these things said my hair looked a bit 'big and messy' - I do have long thick hair, maybe it would be better for fine hair as a volumising shampoo? To be honest I wasn't expecting it to be a good shampoo, you are basically paying for the Le Labo name and the smell so i'm not that disappointed but as its quite expensive I don't think i'd buy again. Sodium Lauryl Sulphate

You see on the bottle all the lovely plant based ingredients. Once purchased, on the back is the full list. At the top of the list, second only to water, is SLS. Certainly not moisturising and strips colour if hair is dyed. To give JLP credit, they have refunded, but this brand is not what it seems. Not the fault of JLP, as other retailers including the Le Labo website fail to list full ingredients. The only website that did is Cult Beauty.
