I was really excited when I saw this product on the website. My 2.5 year old son loves water play whether it be outside (since we've been having a heat wave) or in the bath! We always liked the twisty dropper since we've hadn't it from the Helping Hands set. However the top doesn't come off and I worry mold will form. I guess we'll just toss it at the end of the season (which disappoints me because it feels like a waste!). He loves watching the water go up and then come down - almost like a fun straw! The scooper was probably better designed for a rice bin. Not many kids at this age are agile enough to balance water on and move it from point a to point b, even if it's in the bathtub. The squirter is another favorite because my son loves to pour water and squirting ... MoreI was really excited when I saw this product on the website. I also love that the tip is removable and can be easily cleaned out!The grinder was my least favorite. I thought my son would actually move from the top to the bottom and see the movement on the piece but it just stays at the bottom and grinds there. Again, I think this might be better for the rice bin.All in all, I liked a few of the pieces.m and they all help so much with his fine motor development. I do wish the twisty dropper wasn't recycled from another set so that we got a new piece.I received thuan product in exchange for an honest review.

Another must have!

I am a grandmother of 3 year old diagnosed with autism, development delays and sensory issues! Learning resources has done it again!! It's been cold so we've been limited to inside right now! She has still enjoyed learning to use each tool! She has a hard time holding her pencil and crayons correctly which all these processes will help in strengthening those muscles needed to help this! We've used with water, candy and sand! We can't wait till warmer weather to try these out on her water table, sand box and beach!I received this product in return for an honest review.

Awesome tools for creative young learners

I received this set of toys through a review program at Learning Resources. With a critical eye I try to offer clear productive feedback. With that said, this is a great set of tools. My little gal is a super creative kid, so these offer all sorts of options, whether it be playing as a doctor, or just dinking around in the sink full of water or a sandbox.Would definitely recommend for early learners that are a little beyond the initial stages of motor skill development and are more into a phase of exploring textures and materials and how things work.

Bright, Colorful Fun for Sand and Water! Great Outdoor Play
30 April 2018

Our whole family loved playing with these tools! It was great to finally get outside, and the kids were definitely eager to play with some water toys. We haven't used these in the sand yet, but they got a lot of play at our water table. The kids enjoyed the variety of tools and all the different things that they could do with them. (Kids ranged in age from 3-10.) The younger kids worked on their fine motor skills, and the older kids just loved to play and explore and make their own experiments. They definitely did not get bored with these. We love the bright, playful variety of colors, too! They are a perfect addition to our outside play. This toy was received as a part of an incentivized review program.

Cool pieces!
9 May 2018

As a promotion for review, I received this set. I put it out in my classroom's sand and water area. The bulb squeezer broke. I think one of my kiddos bit a whole in it (I teach Special Needs Preschool). But the other pieces were a big hit. The twister for the sand was the favorite of the class and they used it as a drill. Filling the tube and drilling the sand out. The scissor ball maker was also a favorite and used to make ice cream and dinosaur eggs. The twisty dropper was cool and next time I will put colored water in the table because I don't think the kiddos could see the actually water move through the tube. It was a great addition to the center and a step away from the traditional sand and water toys.

DROPPER, SQUEEZER, SCOOPER ARE HITS! SPINNER IS A FLOP.
3 June 2018

MY 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER LOVES WATER PLAY AND I THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE THE PERFECT SET FOR HER TO USE AS SHE PLAYS IN THE BATHTUB OR WITH OUR MAKESHIFT WATER TABLE. SHE WAS INSTANTLY ENAMORED WITH THE DROPPER - SHE LOVED WATCHING THE WATER GO UP AND SQUIRT BACK OUT. SHE ALSO LOVED PLAYING WITH THE SCOOPER, BUT WOULD GET A LITTLE FRUSTRATED BECAUSE SHE HAD TO BALANCE THE WATER LIKE A SPOON. WE FIXED THAT BY PUTTING SOME SMALL TRINKETS AND TOYS IN HER WATER TABLE. SHE THEN SCOOPED THOSE ITEMS UP AND PLACED THEM IN ANOTHER BIN. THE WATER SQUIRTER WAS A LOT OF FUN BUT FELT A LITTLE SIMILAR TO THE DROPPER - THE CONCEPT OF SQUEEZING THE WATER OUT. AND FINALLY, THE SPINNER WAS MY LEAST FAVORITE. THE PIECE DOESN'T PHYSICALLY MOVE UP AND DOWN - IT JUST SPINS. Great Tools
27 April 2018

I received this product as part of an incentivized review program. These items were easy to use and provoked good conversations with the students. It was nice to show examples of different motions to the students and have them describe other items that are similar to them. Students were able to use them independently after modeling the items to them. I liked that they were colorful and a good size. I wish there more in this package. I would recommend this product.

Many uses!
17 May 2018

I received this free product as part of an incentivized review program. As a special education teacher of students having multiple disabilities, including cognitive impairment and autism, I am always looking for well made, functional tools for my students to manipulate as they build fine motor skills through sensory activities. They have been able to learn how to collect water in the Twisty Dropper and then squeeze it out. It worked nicely for our recent experiments with combining droppers full of different colored water to make new colors. I like that the dropper doesn't separate into two pieces. The Silly Scooper and the Super Spinner soon found their way to our playdough station where they have worked well, too. Outdoor Fun
11 April 2018

I recieved this product as part of an incentivised review program. I am a teacher and aunt to a 5 year old nephew. My nephew loved this toy. He is always getting into different messes outside so these tools were great fun for him. I particularly like the fun and attractive shapes and colors that the tools come in. Instead of the dropper just being a regular dropper, it has a wave to the design making it much more interesting and pleasing. I enjopy the elevated design of these toys.

Would recommend for a younger child
9 April 2018

I am an avid, almost exclusive, user of Learning Resources products, which are among the best I have found. This toy, while a solid, well-made toy, is merely average. I bought it for use in the bath, as an alternative to the standard "squirty" toys. It does most definitely help with fine motor skills, but it is not as entertaining as I had hoped. Some of the items like the scooper or spinner, might be more fun in a sandbox or bowl of rice. In the water, they seem somewhat less functional. The dropper is probably the best item in the set, as it is somewhat interesting to watch the water run through the twisty curves. I would recommend this product for a 2 year old, rather than 3 as they may find it more entertaining at that younger age.
