Bought this in Feb 2022, have carried it every day with the pocket clip - no lie, I carry it every single day. I am a long time fan of the ST300 but find it far too big for pocket carry, especially lacking a clip, and a little bulky for my purposes, so the Bond was a very welcome addition to the lineup when it came out. The slip joint retention on the Bond is plenty stiff for anything I've thrown at it -- I have no concern about closing tools on my hands or whatever, just be reasonable about what you're doing. I work in the trades and bust this thing out a hundred times a day. I have a couple fun accessories for it, like the exchangeable bit adaptor so I can use sockets when I'm tinkering with small engine stuff, but at work I just carry it alone. Wow what an amazing gift friendly tool. I only wish it was released a month earlier so I couldâve bought this instead of the sidekick for my brothers birthday. It is essentially a PST with modern engineering at a much more affordable price. I have had the privilege of seeing one first hand and it is a fantastic alternative to people shopping for gifts in the 40-75 dollar range like I do frequently. As a comparison the rebar, sidekick, wingman, and rev are what I considered.The rebar is a locking version of this plain and simple.Sidekick and wingman are only comparable for the price. It features all non-locking slip joints. Most places in Europe, Canada, and private organizations have this silly rule that anything over 3 inches or locking is illegal. This skirts that by the main blade coming in just under 3 inches and all slip joints.

Received this as a Father's Day gift. I had been using a PST for several months after shelving my Charge +. I absolutely admire the PST but, the Bond is like a modern reincarnation of my beloved multitool. More comfortable then previous generation of stamped steel framed tools and just as useful. The addition of a pocket clip perfects the tool, and the strong spring retention keeps it from coming open randomly in the pocket as the Charge+ dose on occasion. Thus making it a very enjoyable carry. If the tool is ever revised, I would hope to see the addition of terminal crimpers. For me, that would be the only way to make the tool better. Other than that, I hope the Bond stays in Leatherman's catalog for years to come.

The simple sheath and large lanyard loop are great for watersports. Unfortunately the body of the Bond is low quality and poorly engineered, compared to other Leatherman models.All the bolts on mine have been overtightened so much that it was virtually unusable out of the box. Oiling and working the joints helps a bit, but itâs very hard to open and close the pliers and most of the tools.There is play in the plier handles when theyâre closed. Feels like itâs going to bend or break when using it as a screwdriver with the plier handles closed. Come on Leatherman, please sort it as I love your products.
I have used my Leatherman almost daily for almost 40 years. I wear it daily on my belt and did so while a police officer. When , after 35 years my belt sheath failed, I called the Leatherman Co and was sent a new brown leather sheath. I love the Bond because I remember my Uncle using the PST and this is close enough to the Bond. It doesn't have replacement cutters, which I love because they seem more durable than my Knifeless Rebar cutters. I don't cut anything to big or hard but for some reason I broke 2 cutters on thick electrical wire, but the Bond has no issues with it. Even my Rev cuts with no damage. I love my Knifeless Rebar, even though I hate the cutters. The Bond even has a bigger main plier area since it doesn't have replacement cutters, which is awesome. The detent on the tools makes it to where I don't have closing tools issues. I love the look, feel, and the tools that are in the Bond. The Knife can pop up, like others have said, but I don't throw my tools around and if the pliers are open, I am either opening a tool then closing it, or having my hand on the plier handles, using the pliers, so that knife hasn't had a chance to pop out. It's aways good to respect your tools/knives, and look at them before picking them up and to not throw them around, so the knife doesn't pop out. If it falls, look at it before picking it up. I work with saws and other dangerous tools all the time and I treat all my tools as if they could cut me and respect them. This tool is no different. I wish it came with the pocket clip but I bought 1 and love having it clipped to my pocket.

It came enclosed in a black leather belt case exactly (sans color change) like the $20 option holder available for this newer ? ? ? model tool. This size is, for me, the right size belt tool, not too big to carry on your belt when driving, but big enough for the majority of any smaller task. A constant companion; helped me splice wires, repair eyeglasses and bracelets, loosen stubborn VGA cables. I could go on but you get the idea.I still have this vital bit of gear in a leather holster. Recent events required changes to how I carry my EDC kit. I found myself switching the PST from the holster to another carrier and it was getting to be a hassle. The clip does keep my Bond discreetly secured in the chest pack I now carry.
