This thing looks way better in person compared to photos and video online. Fun build that I spread out over two days as I wanted to savour this little beauty. I did have to do some disassembly early on as the hover mode wasn’t flattening one of the wheels to my liking, seriously, be mindful when doing this part as there’s just enough movement to allow misalignment. Everything else falls, locks, and clicks into place. I love BTTF as many others do, the inner geek in me is already wanting to tear it apart to build it again. This and the Nintendo Entertainment System are my absolute favourite nostalgia sets, I can’t stop staring at either of them as they sit. If we could get A-team and General Lee sets I think I’d be in heaven. Back to the time machine, it’s definitely ... MoreThis thing looks way better in person compared to photos and video online. Back to the time machine, it’s definitely more of a displayer than a play set so I graded playability as such, everything else is 5 out of 5 and I feel for people who don’t live near a Lego store as I do, it sold out extremely fast online whereas my local store had, and still has, lots of stock on release day. Walk, run, hover board your way to the store for this set if you’re a fan, you won’t regret it.

When my gf and I saw this set, we knew we had to have it! The final build is so good, the iconic look of the Delorean is rendered in amazing details and the fact that you can select to build the specific version from any of the 3 movies is an added bonus. My two main issues with the build are the following: 1 - the doors won't stay open and always fall down shut, so you can't pose the model with doors open (at least I didn't figure out how); 2 - I really had a lot of frustration with the building order. This is my first time being baffled by the steps required, like building something, then adding around it, only to find later that you have to go back between things already built to add a piece that should have been placed before adding the surroundings. It really made no sense and that started from the get go. The first few steps of the frame makes the whole thing extremely fragile and difficult to keep together, where starting from the solid frame and building around it would've been much easier. Having said that, the attention to detail is really incredible and it's a great piece to have, I just wish more testing would have gone towards the building process vs the final result. I'll say it's one of the best looking builds I have, but the first time I was really frustrated with the building process.

My girlfriend gifted me this set on my birthday and I recently built it with her . It wasn’t so hard to understand bc the bags are labeled 1-12 . It took us 2 days to build honestly it was such a fun build . The finish results were amazing 🤩 the car itself looks exactly like it does in the movies I think it’s better that you get to pick 3 modes of the car a plus tbH . There is 2 thing that does bother me a lot , the wheels ! They keep falling off when it’s standing Ik it’s a collectors choice but it would’ve been nice for it to be movable . Also the doors don’t stay up :( like it would’ve been better that way but Other then that I think it was a bit overpriced but I wanted this set so much bc I love love the movies ! It’s such a beautiful build i was happy with it ... MoreMy girlfriend gifted me this set on my birthday and I recently built it with her . It was again too much money for it to not have much mobility with the tires n the tires falling off constantly same with the doors it will come off :/

Right now I'm right in the middle of the build, Step 8 I think and so far it's been fun, but do take your time building this car. Take your time and make sure you have the correct pieces for the current step that you are currently working on. Had to go back a couple of steps because I used the wrong pieces in the build in the wrong sequence. The other thing, and this is important. Make sure you use Windex to apply the stickers in the latter steps of the build and make sure you put the right stickers in the right place on the interior part of the dash. I found that using Windex makes positioning the stickers a lot easier than not using it at all. I had no issues with the building, or even the stylings of the Delorean but I had an issue with a lot of missing pieces, which kinda ruined the building experience for me. I was missing a total of 5 pieces, plus the flux capacitor sticker, which was a first for me to have a set that was missing any pieces. I've built dozens of sets over my lifetime and have never had an issue with missing pieces, so it was the first time. Granted, Lego was great at shipping out the pieces I requested, but it added two weeks to my build as I'd find out if I was missing pieces as I went along, not to mention I have to disassemble it now to put on the flux capacitor sticker. All in all, cool build and does a huge service to the films with all three versions you can modify your Time ... I gave it two stars for looks alone. It was one of the most frustrating sets I have ever built. At times, I felt like I needed E.T. fingers to put it together. The order of some of the steps did not make sense and I found myself reverse building it at times in order to make it easier for myself. The doors do not operate properly. You have to use something to push the seats towards the windshield in order to close the doors. A lot of the pieces are not attached very well. Overall, the set has very little strength. If your intention is simply to put it on display, you may not be disappointed; however, even with that, I suspect you may need a few cans of lacquer to keep it together because I fear a breath may be all it takes to wither this set back to its individual ... Very cool! At first I wasn't too sure I was going to be able to put this together correctly as I never have much luck trying to wire things together in the past. But the instructions are clear and you get to test your setup at almost every stage of build. all the wires are packed in their own bag for each stage of build, so that makes it fairly simple. The only stage I had to fiddle with was the wiring position so the lights would flicker and flash at the correct time. But since the connector block has its own set on leds that flicker and replicates how the rest of the circuit will react I just wired the circuit with the block that acted as i thought it should and the whole system works and looks great on the car. Like so many in my generation, Back to the Future was a big part of my childhood and holds a special place in my heart so I have been waiting for this set since it was announced. Like Ecto-1, the Delorean has transcended time as a movie and automobile classic as evidenced by this awesome set by Lego almost 40 years later. The set was about a 9 hour build without too many challenging sections. No wonky fits or weak assemblies. With the 3 options, it was well worth the price of the set and it's relatively simple to switch between the versions so you can change up your display. A light brick illuminates the flux capacitor and the mechanics to convert it to flying II version are so clever. Any fan of the Back to the Future franchise will love this set. Any Lego fan will ... First light kit I've ever built on a Lego set. Some bits were a bit unclear and tricky, but I guess that was the inexperience as well. After having another good look I was able to figure it all out. The result is awesome and everything works like a charm. Very impressed by the quality and precision of it all.One thing I can't quite figure out. When in lit up mode the wheels and thrusters only come on for a sec and don't stay on. They do come on in flight mode. Would be good if you had the choice to turn these lights on whenever if you want to. Also not too sure how the electronics know you flipped the wheels. All in all my fav movie came to life in a great way. Very happy.
Just fitted this. Another excellent light kit from Game of Bricks. The combination of tiny individual LEDs on wires plus Lego compatible bricks pre-wired with lights makes for a very easy installation and a fabulous effect.I bought the Standard version because I wanted the light up wheels.I didn't realise this also includes a light sensor board - actually I think more accurately a proximity sensor board. It's not very clear but this is fitted underneath next to the red lever which controls the wheels. When the wheels are in normal mode, the lights on the wheels and in the big exhaust (?) sections at the back are off. Flip the lever to fold the wheels and they light up.In the end I removed the clever board, as I have this fixed on display and want all the ... MoreJust fitted this.
