This is a very good set. It’s not screen accurate but then again only real fans would notice it. The ability to transform the set is exactly what you’d want it to be. Granted most will keep this in robot mode, but it’s still fun to do at least a couple of times. Showing people who have no idea are surprised every time. Great set, good price. There are easy tweaks to make it more screen accurate if you want, but as it is it’s a really good build

A really fun build and he’s an awesome model of the character at an impressive scale. The fact that it fully transforms is incredible!There are 10 bags of bricks and I only built the first 8. The last 2 bags create optional accessories and weapons that don’t really add much to the playability and are completely unrequired for transformation between modes. They definitely increase the brick count and the price, but are probably of interest to some.

I first saw this just as my son became aware of transformers and the decision to get it was made. Not disappointed one bit, we have both enjoyed making it and now my son wants either a trailer or a bumblebee. An excellent purchase though and would definitely recommend it.

It is very basic and not as detailed as I thought it would be. I also thought the piece would be a bit bigger for the price it was and when built into a truck, it's quite small. Took me only 2 hours to build as there are not that many components to it.Hopefully they bring out a modern version of either Bumble Bee or Optimus with a lot more detail for a more reasonable or warranted price.
This set was absolutely phenomenal. For someone who has the original g1 Optimus and Megatron, this goes perfect with them, however my instruction booklet came ripped with with marks around the corners and edges. Although this is the case it’s still a great set. I know u can do better Lego. . .
As a kid this would of blown my mind with having two of my childhood favourites mixed into one.. but yes a an adult it’s allowed my to life out that dream and build THE OPTIMUS PRIME in Lego form. Great fun and amazing that they have done it to allow you to transform him from robot to truck form. Now all the need to do is make a Megatron version to complete the set!
A few hours of assembly but nothing too difficult. Looks fantastic, especially in android mode. Faithful representation of the original G1 Optimus as seen in the 1984 cartoon series, even transforms in much the same way as the original product. Fun accessories, including blaster, energon cube, fire axe, and jetpack.
An absolute pleasure to build. This has to be my new favourite Lego set. As a big fan of transformers action figures I’m so impressed they managed to engineer this guy to be able to transform without disassembly. And I love showing it to my friends when they don’t believe that it’s possible
Bought for my 8 year old son who loves both Lego and Transformers. He didn’t realise that you could have a Lego Transformer that actually transformed just like the toys, this nearly blew his tiny mind and made his Christmas. The item is well thought out and of great quality, the added bonus being the quality Father/Son time spent helping with the construction, a gift for all the family.
Looks good once built but I tried to swap it from humanoid to truck form and wound up spending 20min fixing it. Just fell apart. Better off left as a display piece not designed well for actual movements. Probably too expensive for what it is because I can't see it transforming much it's too much trouble to do it
