This was my second Lego set ever, and also my second from the Architecture line (first being Big Ben). While not as detailed as the full-landmark ones, the details included are still entirely fun to build through--I especially enjoyed the way the water was done, and the final few bricks on the Bridge of Sighs to complete it were very satisfying. Seeing how the buildings were miniaturized as you build through was also amusing--I found myself exclaiming "how cute!" over a lot of the smaller details. The variety of architectural objects chosen for representation in this one is what drew me to it most of all--bridges, a church, a tower, statues. I haven't put together Lego together in a very long time. So while shopping for a set for my son I came across this one for me. While assembling this one it brought back memories when I was a little boy. I will be ordering my next one very soon.

When the new skyline series Architecture sets were announces, I was extremely excited. I purchased all three of them, and of them, this one was the least exciting. The build was pretty simple, and I love the little details in St. Mark's Basilica that helped to keep interest, but the rest was very basic. If you love Venice and would like a little memento, or just getting into the Lego game and want a simple set to start with, this is the way to go. If you are an adult collector that loves fun details and a slightly challenging build, I would suggest the NYC or Berlin sets over this.

This product is very simple, not much pieces nor details. It is smaller than other architecture sets from Lego and I was not impressed at all. Disappointment product.
Well, for starters, I'm giving this five stars because I bought it, assembled it and feel it's a five star set. Besides, some of my three star reviews seem to disappear after being posted. Funny, but if I go to a Lego store at the mall, see a set, touch a set and decide it doesn't merit a $300+ expenditure.....I can't review the set and expect the review to survive, No problem here. Bought this one and assembled it. Excellent city scape. I look forward to this 'theme within a theme' and for more city scapes to come. Please consider some other cities noted for their importance. Like Meridian, MS or Accra, Ghana. Thanks!
Being fortunate enough to travel, my husband and I have spent time in Venice and when I saw this set, I knew I wanted to get it for him.It has great detail for such a small set and we were both pleased as to how easily it was for him to build (it has been a LONG time since he had built Lego pirate ships and castles with our son, who is now 33!). It makes us both smile when we walk by it and brings back many fun memories of our visit to Venezia!
Several years ago our entire family met in Venice for a holiday. This kit brought back some great memories. I posted the build to my Facebook page, and friends recognized it immediately as Venice. The only quibble I would have is the Bridge of Sighs as it is actually a bridge between two second floors (or named "first floors" if you are from Europe). It looks more like a regular canal-level bridge in this representation. The colors were appropriate and based on the cost of other lego sets, this was a good value, especially with the detailed booklet. With a couple of other cities available now, this could be a nice series. You should probably get in on the beginning.
I like this set, it looks nice and is certainly reflective of Venice. I think aesthetically it’s actually really good but the build wasn’t quite as enjoyable and some of the other architecture sets. Still, good to add to the collection. The delivery from Purple Turtle was super fast and safe. Really happy with them as a new shop to buy from!
$199.95 was too expensive for a Lego set this size. Unfortunately I didn't know it was this small. In the past I bought my grandson, THE WHITE HOUSE, THE CAPITOL BUILDING, THE STATUE OF LIBERTY, THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING, AND OTHER ARCHITECTURE SETS, NONE HOWEVER WERE MORE THAN $100.00. I was very disappointed when that little box came in the mail. I hope he's not disappointed too. I did not open the box, but I can hear a lot of pieces shaking around in there. That's another complaint, all his other sets, were not loose inside. This one is the city of VENICE in Italy. Very small.
my 5 year old loves legos and I love the architecture series so I bought this this, long with Berlin and Big Ben. This one took him about an hour. He wants to know what everything is afterwards so great lesson. It is up on our shelf. I love it!
