This set is a great addition both to my collection of games, as well as my LEGO collection! It was a simple but fun build that took me a couple of hours, simply because I take my time and align every LEGO logo as best I can. Having a chess set that I’ve built myself is quite satisfying. I love that it comes apart in the middle and stores in its box! It lets me store it with my games! Fantastic set :)

I got this set to be able to1) have a relaxing afternoon building it2) start teaching my grandsons the elements of chess and checkersIt fulfilled both of those objectives but it's missing one element to make it truly useful. While there is enough space under the board to place the checkers they are simply loose on the table with nothing to hold them in place if the set is moved. It would have been easy enough to put in some base plates and turn the hollow bottom into a storage area for the checkers

So Im a big fan of chess and Im very popular with my age, especially amongst the women who play. I`m a advocate of women in chess. Anyways I bought this set and its alright I like the little minifugre trophy guy on the top of the king piece. But for this price you can get prettier chess boards. So I dont think this set is worth it.

I thought this would fit a double duty build. A fun build and a game for the grandkids to play when they visit! My seven year old grandson saw the box and wanted to build himself. He did with no trouble at all! I would recommend this chess set as fun to build and fun to play!
I bought this for my dad as a present for Father’s day because I recently got my whole family to start loving lego and he LOVES chess so this build was perfect!! We played a game of chess and he won! Great father’s day!
We enjoyed build this set and playing with it. Although the QR code is missing, I know the set needs to be made within a certain year and if I'm not mistaken this set was made this year. After learning how to register the set it doesn't have a QR code to register our set. I don't know how to go about it in order to get this set registered.
The Lego Traditional Chess Set is my new favorite set. Building it was so fun, I lost track of time. I really like Chess, and I’ve casually liked Lego throughout my life. But with this release, I’m a fan. It’s a portable board, so it’s small. Don’t expect the most comfortable playing experience. It’s still good, though.All of my other sets come from websites in collaboration with a company that I believe has market control over the game itself. It’s not hard to guess the company. Why not let them know that they don’t own Chess with this Lego set?I bought two, and I plan on building the other with my daughter when she’s older. In the meantime, I get two sets of queens. Hey, Lego! Extra queens for pawn promotion would’ve been the cherry on top. Just a thought.
I’m a big fan of Lego, and recently wanted to buy a chess set, so when I saw this dropping, I was sure to preorder! This set was a super fun build, can be displayed or put away into its box thanks to wonderful design, and of course, has tons of playability. The best part might just be that on top of the board being sturdy, the pieces are put together in a way that ensures parts of them don’t break off, even when they’re accidentally knocked to the floor. Great set!
I always love a set that is. Bigger than average of 300-400 pieces. After I built it it is fully functional for real games making it my favorite chess set. I have ONE complaint it costs 75 dollars which is a LOT OF MONEY FOR WHAT IT IS.
My granddaughter's father and I are teaching her (8) to play chess. This set caught my eye because it is smart looking, realistic and can be used. A perfect Christmas present we can play with together.
