LOVE that LEGOs has included a limb difference character! Representation matters. My daughter has a limb difference and loves building with LEGOs. Her eyes light up when she sees a character that looks like her. For those who have left ignorant comments about limb differences… more than 2.7 million people in the US have a limb difference and yes, they can still play with legos. I hope all children who play with this set can become more open minded to the fact that there are people of all sizes, shapes, and abilities in this world. What a boring world it would be if we were all the same.

I bought it for my daughter but returned it as soon as I saw the girl without a hand and reindeer on wheels! It is ridiculous! If you want to be inclusive then why don't make an advent with some smart and not-so-fancy dressed geek boys and girls with books? Why inclusivity is only about color, hands, or legs? If you are too smart, autistic, and don't know how to make friends, then everybody is not okay with it. I know a lot of kids with this type of problem but inclusivity is not about them.

So excited for this Lego set to include a child with a limb difference! Our 4th child was born without her left hand and this set will mean the world to her! Seeing others like her in this world is what encourages her to push through when things get tough. She’s a rockstar and hasn’t tried something she couldn’t master! God has big plans for our girl. Thank you Lego for helping children around the world to feel seen and understood. ❤️

If you have never purchased Lego advent calendar - I think this one is not the best choice. The one from last year had Santa with bag, reindeer, ice rink... It had much more of Christmas mood in my opinion. But if you already have it - this one can be great addition, so you won't have duplicates. Especially if your kid loves animals. My daugther will love it for sure.
My son Oliver was born 2019 with a rare condition called VACTERL association. Apart of that L equals limb difference. Oli had one hand with 3 fingers and his left arm didn’t have a hand but just an arm that turned into one single finger. Even as a little 1 year old he helped his daddy build Lego sets every night. His dad is a AFOL. He built duplos with his brother, and even though he had three fingers he was very capable in doing anything anyone else could. Children born with limb differences don’t miss what they never had and they learn to just do everything alittle differently. My son died from a rare complication from surgery for his esophagus at 16 months old. At 16 months old he was about to walk, he played ball, helped with legos(loved the Mario set) and did ... My son died from a rare complication from surgery for his esophagus at 16 months old. At 16 months old he was about to walk, he played ball, helped with legos(loved the Mario set) and did everything any child did. His doctor who is one of the best limb specialists of the world said he would do anything anyone else could. His limbs didn’t limit him, he said he’d drive a car, play sports or anything else. To the ignorant comment about limb differences kids can’t build legos… shame on you… this is why this set needs to exist and I’m so happy Lego made it. My living son who is Oli twin is excited to build this set with a girl like Oli in it. I know my community of limb difference parents are so happy this set is here. These kids build legos just like your kids.
I absolutely LOVE that they included a limb difference friend in this advent calendar! My little boy adores legos and builds them just as good with one hand. He deserves representation too, and it’s absolutely not an agenda. So many people don’t know about limb differences and I’m thankful Legos is so inclusive. My little man is thankful too. Just for anyone wondering- he can do anything and everything!
This set is kind of cute but there’s not much to it. And I’m confused as to why all the Lego friends sets now have a girl with a hand missing. I’m trying to figure out who this represents because how many little girls with a hand missing are Lego builders? I’m not trying to be mean, because I’m disabled myself. But in my experience it takes two hands to build legos so I don’t think this is a proper representation of disability nor logical, given where it’s being represented. It just makes everything feel awkward and like you’re pushing an agenda way too hard. Just let us all enjoy the legos the way they have always been in the past. Innocent and creative building sets without a message.
Lego Advent Calendars are always a fun tradition- but seeing Autumn in this years made my heart soar. Representation matters- showing all kinds of differences shows all of us that EVERYONE is worthy of inclusion. Please ignore the ignorant 2 star review below- it doesn’t, in fact, take 2 hands to play with legos. It only takes an imagination.
My family have been Lego builders for years! They have literally become accent decorations in many parts of our home. Legos has been a way that I can bond our family from parents to teens to children and alleviate TV stimulation. Our youngest family member, we call her Moose because although she is the littlest she is wild and strong and fierce, was born without her right hand! She started building legos before she could talk and still has an amazing imagination that builds incredible things on a regular basis! She was thrilled beyond words to open the Advent package and find a Friend that is built just like! Bravo, Lego, for seeing this world in its entirety and honoring us all!Much Love for Legos!!!
This is no value for the money! I wish I had looked more closely at what actually comes with the set. Most days there is no building to speak of. Six days are nothing more than a small animal with one block for a stand. Really? Only 2 mini figures. One day is only a few pieces of animal accessories like dog bones, a carrot, some food pieces? Why didn’t they at least come with the animal? Compare to the city set which I was happy with for my 5 yr old grandson. Every day this is something to build. My 8 yr old granddaughter will be sadly disappointed. Just look carefully at what you are getting before buying.
