This is an amazing little car. It has over 800 pieces, the McLaren license, and is a foot long. it is also very authentic, with a working V8 (one-wheel drive, though), opening doors, an excellent and easy-to-use hand of god steering system, and more, all for only 50 dollars! It also incorporates a few advanced building techniques, and beats it's predecessor, the Corvette ZR1, by a mile. It's only major downside is the high sticker count, but that can be expected for a race car like this one.Overall, it is very fun to play with, and it's detailed aesthetic and McLaren license make it a good display set as well. This small but cool McLaren is definitely worth every dollar of its price!

An engaging build and a good display technic set.

Although I am a selective fan of Lego and over the years have bought for my children and now my grandchildren not everything they do fires me to purchase a set. This one was definitely for me to build & keep and at the moment display. I usually don't like Technic sets much, the Land Rover set was an engaging complicated build but over engineered and too big! This on the other hand is cleverly designed, engaging to build, I meandered along over several days and timed it as a total of 5 and a half hours, and looks great finished. For once I aced the stickers and they do add to the looks substantially. I am a model car fan and although the scale exceeds 1:18 it does not excessive clash with those I have on display and fits in one of those display cases - keeps dust ... MoreAlthough I am a selective fan of Lego and over the years have bought for my children and now my grandchildren not everything they do fires me to purchase a set. The moving exposed engine pistons, doors and steering (though the actual turning curcle is not to scale) make this a good display item. Other recent Technic sets I have enjoyed are also in the sub $100 category, the Rescue Hovercraft, the Digger and the Ducati motorbike. If you like cars you should enjoy this set and it's well priced.

Not only is this a form of entertainment on piecing everything together, but it is educational as well. You have to follow the diagrams, which are a form of drawings, sort of speak, so this would hopefully, be beneficial in later years. Once everything is assembled, and each sticker is adorned, it does look good. It also gives you the sense of achievement, that you've completed something from scratch. There could be even more satisfaction if father and son/daughter get involved together, almost like team bonding.

I step away from legos when I finish Highschool, and growing up I was always intrigued by Lego Technic builds but never owned one. This was my first ever technic build & the nostalgic memories and excitement of building legos came right back, like it never left. The Senna is an excellent purchase especially for starters who have patience, some tricky parts but nothing that you can’t overcome. This build is worth every penny, I really enjoyed my time building it. I know I could’ve finish it in like a day or so, but I savored every moment, just put some music on an rock out. To make it even easier for it being my first technic build, I just did bag number by bag number instead of dumping everything out the bag. Also the most exciting part of this build is putting together the engine then connecting it to the chassis, then seeing the rear wheel drivetrain move the pistons(So Cool!). I will be purchasing the 911 as well,so I suggest that you do the same. Thank you Lego, the Senna is a must have!!.

Excellent build experience

I am a huge fan of sports cars, so when I saw the McLaren Senna on here, I just had to get it. The piece count for the set was amazing for the price, and except for the front (which is hard to make slope properly in Lego), it was a very realistic looking model. It was a bit sticker-heavy, but that's okay. The two things that bothered me were the turning piece and the amount of regular bricks. The turning piece is in kinda of an akward place, I think it would look better if it was, say, in the back of the build, like the orange corvette has. And the bricks just make it more destructable, which I just don't like because I'm usually a bit ruff with the sets when I bring them out of the display cases. Other than that, it is a wonderful build and I think anyone who's ... MoreI am a huge fan of sports cars, so when I saw the McLaren Senna on here, I just had to get it. Great little car for big dreamers
26 January 2021

My boys are always talking about fast sports cars and debating which ones are the fastest or most expensive, so I hear about the McLaren a lot. This was the ideal Christmas gift for them because they were able to build and marvel over a version of it. They immediately opened the package and shorted pieces into zippered bags so they could take their time and work on it methodically. I did provide a little help with some of finding the right pieces but overall the instructions were clear and it was not too difficult. I think it’s a great brain exercise in attention to detail, following visual instructions, and completing tasks. It does have a ton of pieces so it is what I would consider a more advanced project than most they have done in the past but that did provide ... MoreMy boys are always talking about fast sports cars and debating which ones are the fastest or most expensive, so I hear about the McLaren a lot. It does have a ton of pieces so it is what I would consider a more advanced project than most they have done in the past but that did provide them with hours of occupation. I like that the instructions book is very large and breaks down each step into just a few pieces per page so it was easy to follow and flipping through you see how simple it is to get from start to finish. There are even realistic photos at the end that show it fully built and what the real thing looks like. This will look great on their display shelf and will also remind them of the fond memories of us working together on it. High quality just as you would expect from the brand.

Missing so many pieces
16 August 2023

I bought this set to build together with my daughter through the summer. We kept having to stop because of missing bricks in this set. We've had to stop 3 times already. It's been super frustrating because we can't move on to the next step without the piece. Each piece needed to order for replacement requires 10-14 days shipping. Our lego building experience is horrible. It's been 2 months and we still haven't been able to finish it. We are on the last 3 pages and cannot complete the car because ANOTHER missing piece. Now we need to wait another 10-14 business days to finish the car. It's very frustrating.

First off, I am so disappointed that Lego didn't go with this model for the 1:8 Scale Technic release. When I first saw the teaser images from Lego I was absolutely in love with this model and then when I found out it was roughly 1:16 I was disappointed. It is so beautiful that it would make a fabulous addition to the larger builds. There are a few pre-printed pieces in the set but a large portion of the decoration is by stickers. Yep, sticker heavy but well worth persevering with as they elevate the look immeasurably. The problem with the smaller Technic builds, for me, is that the engine block is simplified right down and that is my favourite bit of any Technic build. So many cool features like steering the McLaren toy car using the wheel on top. He did mention a few times that the build was hurting his fingers a bit, but said, "it's worth it"!This 830 piece set would be a great gift for any motorsport, supercar, or Lego building fan.We added a few more shelves above the Lego crafting table to display this completed remarkable car. The finished model measures over 3 in. (9 cm) high, 12 in. (32 cm) long and 4 in. (12 cm) wide. This collectible McLaren toy car features eye-catching graphics and colors. I recommend it for any Lego fans, aged 10 and up, who are ready for a new challenge in advanced building toys.

I was in love with seeing vehicles themselves, and when I see this product and its features, to me the product is great and it seems challenging. This helped me a lot with literally spending a lot of time of building! Not only that, but also staying organized and working with time management. Since I had trouble on focusing, especially with hands and instructions this product allowed me to practice temporarily while everything is going on, and this especially goes for stickers. The quality of this product is absolutely great. The packaging is 95% organized itself, the colors of the pieces are outstanding in terms of not ruining the colors of the product.
