LEGO 42143 - Technic Ferrari Daytona SP3

This was my first Technic model I’ve ever owned. It has over 3800 pieces and took me about 2 days to fully complete it. The build experience was amazing. The end product is absolutely beautiful. The amount of detail is astonishing. I try to put a different set together about every week/2 weeks. Next up will be the Grand Piano and then the Coliseum, when I get a chance to pick it up from Lego

Best Technic Set Yet

Just finished building this set this week. I've built all four of the Technic supercars now and this is the most detailed and visually stunning one of the lot. There are no stickers to worry about as all of the parts are printed. There are a couple of mistakes in the instructions to watch out for, but otherwise a very fulfilling set!

Challenging build but satisfying

As with most technic super cars, the intricate details and small pieces make this a challenging build. Some of the technic elements are hard to connect. Had to go back a couple of times to make minor corrections. It took around 25 hours to complete. The packaging is a work of art in itself. Display worthy. Goes well with the other supercar models.

Ferrari - More Than You Can Afford

Complaining about a Lego you can’t afford is like complaining about Ford selling the GT, just because you’re stuck in your 2001 Focus. Move on.For the rest of you admirers or future owners, this was an enjoyable and rewarding build!Over Covid, I had gotten back into building Lego, at the tender age of 40, after a +25 year hiatus. Other than that, the build went smoothly.Since completing this build, I have subsequently completed the rest of the cars in this series (Porsche, Bugatti, Lamborghini). Of these builds, the Ferrari is my favorite as it represents the evolution of Lego reaching a great balance of capturing authenticity without compromising its objective of not just molding a component to complete a build. That said, the wheels were specifically sized, molded, and painted (that’s right, painted) to fit this car and they look beautiful and round off the look perfectly. They don’t distract from what this piece is - a Lego model. It makes me wish I could buy wheels/tires that complement the other cars as well as the Ferrari’s does.Just FYI - The Ferrari is by far the most delicate of the Lego supercars. I came to this realization “showing” it to my young Lego enthusiast nieces & nephews. They quickly forced every moving (and non-moving) part into submission.This completes my Lamborgotti Fasterosa collection and I can’t wait for the next Lego supercar to arrive!

Highly Recommend! Excellent set!

I managed to get this from Asda on a really great offer! First time I used George click & collect. No regrets at all. Set arrived in good time, despite Xmas & came in excellent condition including the protective outer box from Lego. Set & build is excellent, fun & a great challenge. Looks great & makes a fine addition to the collection.

Lego Technic Daytona

After thinking I originally bought the model only to get the limited edition book with slipcover I reordered the model and received it a few days ago. This model exceeded all of my expectations and is just incredible. This was a gift for my dad who builds these in about a weeks time. These cars are display pieces when completed. The only thing that would be better would be a garage with real ones!

Massive Build... Let down by Engine

I was looking forward to this build, especially after looking at it for a few months before pulling the trigger and buying it. For context, I have previously built the 488.Total build was around 17 hours and the let down for me, after all this time, was that the engine didn't work nearly as well as the 488. I think the design was just too over engineered, with a lot of moving parts, that just don't seem to move.I know you don't buy something like this to have a working engine, but after spending hours building just the engine/rear mechanics, I'd expect more at this price range.I would recommend this to anyone, especially avid Ferrari fans, regardless of the engine issues.

Perfect Christmas Present

Purchased as a Christams present. Received just in time and very pleased with outcome. The product packaging is very Good and premium looking. Will make a Great addition to collection. Would recommend to anyone who takes an interest in Lego or model building.

Quality Kit

This is a high quality lego kit which is really only for display purposes. I was aware of issues with the instructions if this on release but with a couple of videos watched confirmed my instructions were the updated version. I recommend using the Lego Builder App to assist assembly, that way you don't have to use manual as much and can avoid creasing pages to keep it in good condition. Overall I'm impressed with the product and enjoy putting it together but it is time consuming. Well worth the money especially if you can grab it discounted like I did and it's going to look amazing next to the Lamborghini I already have.
