Had I not had VIP points available I wouldn't have bought this set.

I really wanted to like this set. I liked the scene in the movie. I liked Finn & Rose in disguise. I didn't even mind having (yet another) of the same BB-8 minifig. But what really bothered me about this set was that we didn't have a face for Phasma. It was revealed in the movie (or at least her eye was) and we all know Gwendoline Christie is under there. No reason not to give us a real head and not another plain black one.Another annoyance was the decals. I'm not a huge fan of them to begin with, but I appreciate the need for them as printing bricks is costly. But I hate...hate...having to put decals on 1x2 surfaces and there were 5. Given that 4 of them were identical, I really don't see why they could just make those printed bricks. The set itself is a good ... MoreI really wanted to like this set. Only average value for the money though. I'd have preferred if you left out the "lift" and made it a $30 set with a true Phasma minifig.

Firstly this set is great. I enjoyed making it and it has an excellent cast of minifigures, Captain Phasma is the now only available in this set and she is brilliant. Finn and Rose in their First Order disguises are also good and BB-8 is a nice add to this set although he has stayed the same as in his First appearance.I do have several things against this set though, the size is a big one, it only comes with half a walker, no head. This is really annoying as in the film it starts with a head, but gets blown off (sorry for any spoilers). Also the set is a ridiculous price, £54.99 for a set with 300+ pieces? Its especially bad seeing as the Imperial ATST (75153) has a head, and is an extra 100 bricks in size and is only £44.99. I know Lego are increasing their set ... MoreFirstly this set is great. I received this set as a gift from a friend as it was the one set he didn't think I owned, and he was right. I never intended to buy this for myself because it seemed like an exceptionally high price for a set with so little. While constructing this set I couldn't help but wonder why a detachable AT-ST "head" wasn't included and a pretty useless (and rather ugly looking) 'lift' was included instead. I really felt like this set, as a whole, was severely lacking in almost every way. The only positive thing about it is the minifigures, but they don't justify the price point.I would definitely NOT recommend this set to ANYONE, even die hard fans of Lego and Star Wars alike. While not the best Lego Star Wars set ever, this is a good set, and I would recommend it to a friend, especially if they're a Last Jedi fan. The AT ST is pretty much identical to the Rouge One AT ST, the only major difference being the fact that it has no head. The elevator, lift, whatever you want to call it, build, is OK, but it only reaches up to the top of the AT ST's leg. The minfigures are a good reason to get the set if you're a collector, with three being exclusive to the set (the Captain Phasma minifigure is estimated to be worth 52 dollars Canadian, it might be worth more or less if you live somewhere else). I feel like this set could be better if it came with the full head, and you could detach it to see BB8 inside it. I'll give the set some slack, because the designers get a little bit of information before the movie is released, so they can have time to design the sets, and some of them don't make it into the movie (e.g.: First Order Snowspeeder, First Order Heavy Scout walker) or are changed. Overall, this is an OK set, and I give it six out of ten.

Not A Good Set.

The play value in this set is to recreate the scene in the movie. The best part of the scene was the AT-ST ripping its own head off. Since the model is essentially incomplete that part cannot be recreated. As an adult I like to display them and given the incomplete nature of the model it is a miserable display piece. As for the price point it was a $30 value tops...not $40. Less than two years ago we got the Rouge One AT-ST 75153 at the same price with 80 more parts and a head on the model...this set feels like corners were cut in all the wrong places. They should have made the AT-ST complete, dropped the elevator that doesn't go high enough to access the model and made the head detachable. Finn, Rose and Phasma added nothing to the film and this set adds nothing to the Lego Star Wars collection. Sorry Lego this one was a wide miss from the target.

I am extremely disappointed with this set. Not sure what went wrong when the designers were making this set, but it is just terrible. As we all know by now, in the movie BB-8 hijacks and dismantles a COMPLETE First Order AT-ST and wrecks havoc upon the First Order, saving Finn and Rose. While this set is technically accurate to the film, it was poorly made because its an incomplete AT-ST with an elevator side-build that just doesn't make sense...This set would have been so much better if we got a complete AT-ST with a Play-Feature that allows you to dismantle the head, revealing BB-8 - making it more accurate to the film. The way it is now, is just terrible. The only redeeming quality in this set are the mini-figures. The Finn, Rose and Captain Phasma mini figures look fantastic. But I cant justify anyone paying $40 for 3 good mini-figures. To break it down:Pros:- 3 really nice mini-figures, 2 of them being exclusive to this set.Cons:- $40 for an Incomplete AT-ST. You can get a complete Imperial AT-ST for $40 (The Rogue One set)- Useless side build. I really don't see the point of including the elevator build.

Allow me to be one of the first that's not going to complain about the missing head. The legs have trouble staying upright, but there are plenty of positions where it's not a problem. The set has plenty of play experience, but as many other reviews say, 40 USD is just too much. There's not enough pieces or figures to justify the price. However, as an Avid LEGO Star Wars collector, I still enjoyed the exclusive figures.

Really LEGO? Was it really too hard to make a breakaway cockpit for the AT-ST that would not only more accurately recreate the scene from the movie, but also give builders a new First Order vehicle to display and use. I've found a fan-made instruction for the cockpit that not only reflects the First Order's actual AT-ST design, but makes the walker usable for characters other than BB-8.

Worst Lego Ever Made

I know thats a bold statement. But over the past 15 years I've purchased legos ive never seen a lego this bad. So lets get startedThe pros:The minifigures.Fin and Rose look really nice and they fit in well with the rest of my first order army. And phasma is phasma. The only downside to her is that her head is a solid black instead of actually having her face. This is however the cheapest way to get her since shes only in this and the first order transport. The cons.EVERYTHING else.I cannot stress this enough. This build is awful. The elevator or lift isnt even useful since once built it doesnt even reach the top of the AT-ST so you cant use it in display for minifigs to load into it. And then the worst part IS THE WHOLE HEAD OF IT IS MISSING!!! I mean ... MoreI know thats a bold statement. But over the past 15 years I've purchased legos ive never seen a lego this bad. But not only were you charging 40$usd for this which is already overpriced, BUT THEN YOU GIVE US AN INCOMPLETE SET WITH A USELESS LIFT. This lego couldve all been worth it had they simply included a complete head with the ability to rip it off like in the movies. Had they done this or even included a second head entirely i wouldve happily spent another 10 or 20$ on it. If you buy this set I highly reccomend looking up mod builds on reddit to see what pieces you need to actually finish the set and buy those too. This is by far the ugliest, most worthless set lego has ever made. The only reason I even got it is due to a massive sale at walmart where it was 15$. Do not buy this at full price unless youre buying it just for the minifigures.
