My children have always had Legos. They started out with the age appropriate duplo's and as they grew older the more complicated sets geared towards their age group and specific likes such as Star Wars. I can't tell you how many hours I sat down right along with them as we used our imagination to build things together, I have wonderful memories of this. We've had multiple sets and enjoy visiting the Lego store in the city. This is a toy that you'll never outgrow and will last a lifetime.

This set is spectacular, fun to build and is a highly detailed classic starfighter. The X wing itself looks amazing and the wings are fully functional. A must have for any Lego Star Wars fan. Highly recommended

It goes together well and is representative of the type rather than a scale model .It is simple enough for a younger child to assemble who has some experience with Lego and forms a nice display piece for them with the addition of a suitable base plate.

This set is not perfect, but is pretty good nonetheless. This isn't officially a Juniors set, but it basically is one with the large specialized pieces, printed parts, and the "easy start" build design. The main build is the A-Wing, and while I think it captures the overall design pretty well, there should be more detailing as it feels a little incomplete to me. The prints on the model are great though. The second build is very simple but looks cool and is actually rather playable. It not only establishes that this set takes place on Yavin-4, but also gives C3PO something to do, which is great. The minifigures are good as well. As I just mentioned, C3PO is included which is nice, especially for kids who want to get him in a cheap set, but in the context of the set ... MoreThis set is not perfect, but is pretty good nonetheless. This isn't officially a Juniors set, but it basically is one with the large specialized pieces, printed parts, and the "easy start" build design. As I just mentioned, C3PO is included which is nice, especially for kids who want to get him in a cheap set, but in the context of the set it doesn't make a ton of sense to include him over another rebel figure in my opinion. The A-Wing pilot is very nice and appropriate. This set has a few minor issues, but it is still the cheapest way to get an A-Wing (that isn't a microfighter) since 2006. I would rather pay $15 for this set than the previous A-Wing set which was $40, even though it was a better model. I recommend this set at this price point, and if you have pieces from your own collection to make this build better, it makes this deal ever sweeter.
Whilst this and the 75237 (Tie Fighter Attack) offer smaller, less detailed versions, they are great for playing with alongside the smaller Millennium Falcon (e.g. 75105) and other Lego SW sets. They are easier to handle, robust and the size works. So not for the purists but great for Star Wars fun!
My son is 3 1/2 - a little under the target range, but with a little help he has built and rebuilt this set with hours of play time. He plays with it every day. I love intricate and complex builds myself, but the hours of fun he has had from this are something else. I understand people would find room for improvement if comparing to the x wing sets aimed at older builders, but to take the perspective of the target group it is brilliant. Great value for money, mini figures were great, side build was great. Only downside is we have had to pack the Duplo away! So glad to see Lego Star Wars branching towards younger builders!
I sent this as a birthday present for my nephew’s 5th birthday. We share a love of Star Wars and he didn’t have any ships yet, so this looked like a fun set. He opened it over Messenger Video and was so thrilled about getting the set, he started to build it right away! Even though he is below the age of recommended building, he still had a fairly easy time building the entire thing over video chat. He is really enjoying the lasers he can shoot at the X-wing. The kid loves it!
I purchased this set for the X-Wing and after building it I wasn't happy with the Cockpit windshield. I know the set is for young Lego Star Wars fans and I'm sure that they would enjoy this set which is very basic. I liked that the pieces were printed instead of using stickers. I did extend the fighter with spare parts so R2 could fit but it's better to play with instead of having it as a display. I liked the mini figures and the turret that fires the projectiles which adds to the playability. Not a bad set and it’s very easy to build, it’s just that the X-wing would have been better if it had a proper windshield.
This isn't a bad set, especially considering the target audience, but sadly I still can't pull myself to recommend it. (the only reason why it gets a "good" overall rating is because of the fact that this is aimed at young kids)This is a rare instance where I think the secondary build is better in it's execution than the main one. The ground build had nice coloring, detail, and playability, with the turret head being able to spin around and even fire projectiles via the disk shooter. You can also angle the guns on the turret up and down. The ability to take off canisters from it as well helps with playability. The X-Wing however, is where the set suffers. The only main problem in my opinion is the cockpit piece, which looks quite horrible and is very jarring. The only main problem in my opinion is the cockpit piece, which looks quite horrible and is very jarring. If they could have designed the Starfighter to be able to use the proper piece, it would have made such a big difference. The fact that this X-Wing can't house R2 even though he is included is also a minor issue. The printed pieces are great though, and the wings look good for the scale. The minifigures are great in this set. Luke looks very proper and has the older helmet design and his lightsaber. You also get R2, and a regular stormtrooper for ground battles. In conclusion, this is a mixed bag of a set. It isn't bad, or by any means a waste of money, but some poor execution in the X-Wing design keeps this set from reaching it's potential. For kids, this should be fine though, as they probably won't take as much of an issue with the problems.
This set was so fun and easy to build and I had a awesome time making it. I love collecting these sets and and playing with it also I recommended this set to quite a few of my friends(really big Lego fans!) And the next day they bought this set andthey told me it was worth it.Please make more sets like these they're sooooooooooo good!
