How anyone on this earth cannot give this set 5 stars and 5/5 for every single aspect is quite literally beyond me. Being a 38 year old man, and having just adored the Lego brand since I was as young as I can remember, I have to say this set is categorically one of my favourite of all time. The build is moderately challenging, beautifully crafted and designed, with the finished article not only being one of the most polished Lego sets I’ve ever built, but THAT good it’s on par with actual diecast models of the batmobile. It’s such high quality and feels just so well built that you forget at the end your holding a £25 Lego set and not a £100 diecast model! It’s that good, and amazingly reminiscent of the original 1989 batmobile, that I kind of wish I was back in 1989, just having watched the original movie, and that Lego had released this back then as I’d be straight to my local toy shop to buy perhaps my favourite one of all time! Top marks Lego on this set! You continue to blow me away even after all these years with the quality of products you make and the sheer love and dedication that goes into designing each and every one! Ps I tried to take a photo to show just how epic it looks but no photo in the world can do it justice! Just buy it as you won’t regret it regardless of who you are!! :)

I may change out the bat hubcap emblems for a dark grey/black disc with a silver stud in the center. Thanks for looking at my review and happy building.

Don’t be fooled by Age 7+ label
28 December 2019

My three year old son asked for a Batmobile for Christmas. He has an older brother that is into Legos and so while he is not yet at the point that he can assemble a set himself, he enjoys playing with finished Lego products. I figured that based on the size (and price) of this set, as well as being labeled as an “Age 7+” set that this would be no big deal to assemble. While I’m no Lego expert, this was by far the most difficult set I’ve worked on for/ with my boys. Think it is an appealing superhero set for a young child, but will likely require assistance to assemble. Don’t be fooled by 7+ label. Complex set with cool (and sturdy) finished product.

If you're not like Bruce Wayne and can't afford the 1989 Batmobile (or simply don't have the space necessary to store it once assembled) but you'd still like to own Batman's iconic vehicle in LEGO form then this set is a good alternative. Although its price-to-parts ratio is slightly worse than that of the former and (obviously) comes nowhere near in sheer size, details and building experience, it's considerably cheaper on the whole and there are no stickers included which - in my book - always counts as a big plus. It also shares many of the same features with its cousin like the opening (though not sliding) cockpit and the foldable guns which are functioning as well. What else? The flame twirls while the car is in motion, the wings are fully articulated (in case you want to use them for air-braking) and they got the overall shape down remarkably close to the classic Batmobile. It's equipped with a Batman and Joker minifigure (complete with batarangs and a working stud-shooter gun, respectively) further adding to its play-value, but it's also a really nice display piece despite its smaller size. There's an assortment of unused parts in various sizes, shaped like the eponymous logo (courtesy of the Bat-grille on the front which - to my understanding - always comes packaged together with the rest) and I'm not sure whether it was intended but my box contained an extra hubcap, a nice surprise considering it's one of the painted elements. These spares can no doubt come in handy when designing one's own Batman-themed creations but without them this set is still a good looking, sturdy and satisfying build. Get it!

This is one of the smallest Lego kits I have built and I am really glad I didn't pick this as my first build as it would likely have put me off. I found this a really tough kit to build, because it is necessarily in black the build images can be quite difficult to decipher as black on black is not a good look except in fashion. I spent a lot of time removing sections as I had put them in the wrong spot. Definitely challenging. The look of it once completed definitely makes it worth persevering with and I am glad I did. The movement action is really smooth and I will readily admit to spending time just running it up and down my table after building with a daft grin on my face. Great for 1st lego kits or any batman fan!

This was the first real lego set we bought our 4 y.o. son. After getting it from store-pickup later one evening, we promised we would put it together the next day with our son. He woke up at 1am, burst into our room, and proceeded to talk about the legos (based on the photos) and how excited he was. After assembling (mostly together), he played for a couple of days before it was destroyed (because its legos). Big fans over here. Would recommend!

One of the best Batman sets
13 March 2020

It was an extremely fun build and it looks absolutely fantastic. It already has a very strong similarity to the Tim Burton film's batmobile and is easily modifiable to look nearly exactly like the one from the film. The one thing I wish was a bit better was the selection of minifigures. Batman and joker appear in nearly every set so I wish there could've been another villain or maybe different looks to the two characters. Either way this set is fantastic and I'd say essential for any LEGO Batman fan.

Ruined by declining lego quality!
29 June 2019

First off i want to say that this is a great set, good value for money, fun to build and it looks great. However, i have only rated 5 and this is due to the continued falling quality of Lego. Many of my latest sets have been subject to very poorly printed parts and this time it is again the skin colour of Batman, it is more a dull white than flesh colour and just looks awful, only being saved by the fact tgat his helmet hides most of it. This is happening more and more on lego minifigures and Lego seem to ignore this decline in quality. You pay a premium for Lego products, and this should be reflected in its quality, at the moment it isn't.If this doesn't bother you then don't let it stop you buying this set, it is still an amazing set, if you can look past the ... MoreFirst off i want to say that this is a great set, good value for money, fun to build and it looks great. I was mega excited when this set was announced as this is my favourite Batmobile. This version is a brilliant minifig scale model with some fun play features built in.My son and I had wanted to build something just like this and we were in design phase when this set was announced so there was no question about getting it. The build is fun and includes a few cool techniques and the final product is pretty faithful to the movie model imo. The one area that obviously differs though is the nose cone which has been substituted with a bat symbol, but I think this works in this model anyway and looks good. Finally, the price of this set makes it totally worthwhile! If you are a fan of the Tim Burton Batman movies then this set is a must-have.
