I buy one Large Lego set a year to build with my Daughter. This one we've had our eye on since last years project. Sometimes the build was a bit repetitive and over-simple with all the window pieces and floor tiling but entertaining enough to keep the excitement expectation of a final piece placement. Its a pretty sturdy build overall and holds up to young kids play. Overall great for Spiderman fans of all ages and fun to play with and share the history of the character with younger kids or as a display piece for a collector. If anything that I would say would improve it would be maybe upgrades on the mini figures for the set...Maybe a few more exclusive ones other than the Five or so they included...less civilian characters and maybe a few more villians or allies ... MoreI buy one Large Lego set a year to build with my Daughter. But overall it was fun to build and share some spidey lore with my daughter and she's had a blast playing with such a big detailed set that it was worth the price.

I really wanted this set and I got a great deal on it. All of the minfigs alone made the set desirable and on that front it delivers, I could go without some of the random people for more Spiderman specific figs. My main complaint is the build quality, I really feel like Lego cheaped out on some parts. The largest one being the windows aren't your typical block they are C frames which when you have to stack them 5 high and every wall is full of windows it makes the build extremely frustrating, trying to get them to line up and stay in place is nearly impossible at times. The furniture in the set also is an issue, it isn't attached in normal Lego fashion they have one stud to hold them in place so they come off with a light breeze.. Once I finished the set my wife and I tried to pick it up and move it to its final resting place and we didn't even get a hand under it before it came crashing down.. the front windows are held in with 2 studs so they literally just fall off when you do anything with the set and worse the corners are 5 or 6 studs high and all one by one cubes which makes the build so much weaker..If you need more mini figs this is a great set. Really liked the idea, really hate the execution.

Well, it's an office building, so it's not a surprise that most of the time building is spent on windows. The rest is marvelous, though. So many cool and unique Minifigures. Little secrets here and there. Some nice play features. The amount of customization is crazy. And the fact that it connects to other modular buildings? Cherry on top. Also not THAT many stickers, which is a huge plus. If I had to use stickers for every newspaper piece my hair would turn grey from stress. You know what? I just had an idea. Since it probably costs cents to add them to the set, LEGO should include (especially in big sets) extra sheet of stickers! Man where to start. I guess i’ll start with the many, MANY, pros of this set. Massive build with so many references and minifgures and so much to customize its amazing. I never really found the main windows to be very tedious to build (oh we’ll get to the tedious parts) in fact i really enjoyed stepping back after finishing a floor and seeing what had come together. Slowly seeing this skyscraper come together was amazing! I’ve loved spider-man ever since i went to the tasm movies in theatre's as a small(er) child. I loved the idea of just being this hero who sometimes fights big bads and mostly just chills around and helps people with tiny tasks as opposed to say the avengers. I loved the idea of just being this hero who sometimes fights big bads and mostly just chills around and helps people with tiny tasks as opposed to say the avengers. The minifigure selection here is just amazing, especially doc ock with those arms loved it! And the fact i can have spider-man trying to save gwen stacy while having spider-gwen (aka ghost spider) try to stop doc ock is honestly really cool! The customization is outstanding with you even being able to rebuild the green goblin window and then get ball joints to use as pieces to pose your figures after that is a very big (if unintentional) plus for this set. A spider-man lovers dream come true… of course then there are the cons. Lets start with the minor ones like me personally having to use extra pieces while tiny ones to make it so my set could be complete, not really legos fault just something that could happen to someone else, parts of the set can be VERY flimsy like the satellite tower where it comes off at the slightest touch, the floors while secure being put on, coming off is another story, they’re almost too secure because half the time instead of pulls off one floor i pull off 2! Which makes it so one of them drops and breaks. The green goblin window i mentioned earlier? Yeah I mostly rebuilt it because 1 the floor kept coming off with the other and the window would shatter more than if it was a regular window, and then the goblins posing piece never and i mean never posed how i wanted it to. It almost always went to the sides because the build was too heavy for it to secure which is kind of sad considering it like 20 pieces max. Then the building method for the floors were… stressful to say the least. Trying to connect them all at the end was a nightmare because all of the windows, and wall pieces never were secured up top meaning they’d be leaning too back or too forward making connecting them a 5-10 minute chore. Copy and paste that ~3 times and you have yourself a bad time. Theres also the fact that when you take down the floors, most of the time you have to take down the minifigures attached which can be a pain especially if you spent a lot of time trying to pose them and stuff. While those all might sound a little bad maybe even a little nitpicky I believe the pros of this build outweigh the cons 10 fold. Great build, more like this please!

Repetitive, but a masterpeice of a set

This is quite possibly the greatest LEGO set of all time. I am obsessed with this set. It's what I spent my first paycheck at work on, and I'm glad it was. This set COMMANDS your attention. It's tall, bold, detailed, and nuts. All of the characters doing their own thing and battling each other is incredible. I love the minifigure selection, too. I do have a couple big problems with this set:1. Doc Oct's Arms. His arms are not built that well, they're not stable and are hard to put in the position I want them in. They should have been flexible, more stable, and a LOT less repetitive.2. The windows. The windows are the most painful part of this set, they're repetitive. That's all I have to say on that.3. It's spectacular, but the set suffers from it bet hard to decide where the figures should go. Some have assigned areas, like Mysterio, Spider-man, Aunt May, Sandman, Daredevil etc. But some don't, so it's hard to put them all in different locations where they all stand out.Now for some details and features I loved.1. Who's idea was it to have Green Goblin's glider crash through the building?? Give them a raise please!! It's such a genius idea that I've seen before in a Lego set and it's executed here amazingly!!2. I cannot stop thinking about some of the minifigures. Sandman's half-man-half-sand design is so, SO amazing!! I adore the look of him destroying the streets. Daredevil's minifigure I awesome too, I read in the instructions that this set is the first set to have a Lego Daredevil, so congrats on that. I love how he's positioned in the middle, too. It really shows how special the minifigure is. I love Spider-Man's duel-molded legs. They make his minifigure look clean, and I love how he actually is positioned in a way where he looks like he's swinging.3. I don't know if this was intentional, but Peter Parker's office looks a whole lot like the meme of his sitting in an office with his picture on the wall. If that was intentional, then y'all are geniuses. That's all I have to say for this set. Amazing work to everyone who designed this. This is an incredible set. Thank you.

Lastly...and this one really sealed the deal for me...just for the detail and planning. The design includes all the parts to make the exploding upper floor fully intact if you wish to display it pre-villain chaos. Very nice touch Lego. Very nice. This is what a high price theme set should be.Cons: Stickers...there are so many stickers to deal with. In this case it isn't so bad as they do add a lot of hidden gems to the build...but there are a lot of them.

The Best Lego set ever in my humble opinion. Nothing compares to the satisfaction of opening that box and pouring out the multitude of bags within. I cherish that day I built it. Almost as much as my wedding day or both of my daughters birth days (they might be watching😉). This beautiful, towering, monstrosity of a set with its endless minifigiures and perfectly sectioned modular floors is action packed as soon as you finish. Playability is unmatched and unending. It took me a good 10 hours to build it because I was so excited and couldn't wait another second to see the finished product. The only bad part is that it's over now. Trust the reviews
12 January 2023

Similar to another reviewer, I was not going to buy this set at all. While busy, the building itself looked like a bland grey blob in the images. I thought Its height would overwhelm any modular building setup it was in, the alleyways on both sides would make it look weirdly separate, the Daily Bugle sign looked comical, and all the reviewers claiming this was an interesting build baffled me looking at pretty standard and technically uninteresting interiors. And yet I gambled. Because I'm a sucker for the modular buildings, the Overwelmingly positive reviews, and that reviewer very simmilar to myself. And I'm so glad I did.I wouldn't call myself a Spider Man fan, and this not an MCU set. And I'm so glad I did.I wouldn't call myself a Spider Man fan, and this not an MCU set. I've seen the three movie trilogies (save No Way Home) and enjoyed them but that's it. Nevertheless I love this set. As the reviews claim, the set was actually a very interesting and engaging build! You do end up building a lot of those big glass windows, but they're pretty spaced out by the interiors and the exploding Green Goblin section. Those huge glass windows also solve my biggest problem with every other modular because with this set you can actually clearly see inside all the rooms (except for the ground floor) without any fancy lighting kit! For display this really helps as there are so many minifigures (another plus) and allows for more interesting stories in the display. I've read from other reviews the Green Goblin damage can be undone with no extra pieces, which I'll probably end up doing latter and un-battle the set to further incorporate it with my other modular. When I do this, the clearly visible interiors will be even more welcome as that's where most of the figures and story will be. Compared to something like the old Detectives Office which has very dark interiors where most of the story is this is a godsend.Speaking of the other modulars, the Daily Bugle doesn't overpower them at all despite its size. I believe this is due to the largely grey and clear exterior. Rather than making the build stand out as a bland blob, this instead lets the eye naturally focus on the details, such as the billboards or battle, or the surrounding buildings. The only downside is that this set has a lot of important stickers that need to be aligned for the build to look good. But thankfully I learned the common (Lego recommended) trick to apply some window cleaner such as Windex to the brick before applying the sticker. This allows the sticker to be slid and adjusted freely for a few minutes before firmly sticking when the cleaner dries. It's a game changer, and pretty much a requirement for this set.So I'd recommend this set to anybody even vaguely interested in it. Do yourself a favor and trust the reviews. I believe this set is retiring this year as well so don't wait to long to pick it up!

Ultimate Spider-Man Lego Set

This is one of the greatest lego sets ever made, and I am so happy to have the daily bugle. The set has a unique build and looks incredible no matter where it is kept, even if it is on top of a tall shelf. There is absolutely no negatives except maybe the repetion of the windows and stability issues when building the windows. This however no longer becomes a problem when you build with freinds. Altough lego does not have its own build with freinds instructions you and your freind(s) could simply just use the lego builder app and build it in sections and the feeling of putting the all the sections together are incredible. The build as I said is amazing and is a real show stopper and the minifigure selections is mostly great. I only have a minor issue with some of the minifigures like dare devil, mysterio, firestar, and a lot of the civilians (but not as badly as the heros/villians. I feel a lot of the heros and villians should have had dual molded legs and mysterio should had a piece that was made in lego set 76174 which is a stand that now if you were to buy on brick link it is almost $30. This is unfortunate considering the set is almost $350 dollars but other than a few very small problems I think that this set is incredible and one of the greatest lego sets ever made.

Very poor set
25 February 2023

Me and my wife (who I married because of our mutual love of marvel comics) bought this set in the memory of my deceased Nana. Let me start off by saying this set took me around a month to finish and it looks fabulous but I do have a few gripes with it. 1) There seems to be a lack of some quintessential Spider-man characters. They include Firestar but not Ice-man (from Spider-man and his amazing friends). And what absolutely perplexed me is how they left out Mary-Jane. WHERE IS SHE?! Speaking on the figures there is an overwhelming amount which made me wait a few days to build it. 2) There are way too many stickers and I have a hard time putting them on, I don’t understand why they can’t just print them onto the piece. 3) I’m missing about 6 pieces from the set which ... MoreMe and my wife (who I married because of our mutual love of marvel comics) bought this set in the memory of my deceased Nana. I’ve lost pieces in the past, so much in fact they Lego won’t send me anymore because I’ve bought too many. 4) There are so many fallacies of the set, for example, on the 3rd floor there are papers and cabinets blocking the door. How is anyone supposed to get to the balcony if there are papers in the way. 5) Finally, the set is very flimsy to the point where I opened the window to the room in which i was displaying it and it instantly collapsed. Me and my wife heard the commotion and when we saw what happened both tried to hold back tears. We couldn’t bare to rebuild it as it reminded us too much of dear old Nana. I think a set with this many issues should be at least $200.
