I haven’t bought a Harry Potter set for a while, so this was more or less an introduction for me back into collecting the theme. With that being said, I absolutely love the fact that you can connect all currently available Hogwarts sets into your own conglomerate of Hogwarts Castle. Say what you must against the “collect-them-all marketing” but I honestly feel that if this wasn’t advertised or encouraged in this way I wouldn’t love this theme nearly as much as I do as a avid collector and builder. These newer waves of Harry Potter Hogwarts expansions are a true love-letter to those who collected the early 2000s Harry Potter sets as well as any Harry Potter Fan. When the pandemic hit, we were looking for activities in the indoors. The wife did needle work and quilts - I found the activity level of Lego extremely satisfying for my now not so nibble fingers and slower brain activity. But all to the good. Lego building helps me to continue driving me school bus (I'm now 83!). It keeps my young and interested. Keep it up Lego - we love you.

My daughter absolutely loves Harry Potter and was delighted when she saw this lego set. It has lots of characters included which is a massive bonus. The kit is designed for age 9+ but my 7 year old is a massive Lego buff and managed to complete most of the kit by herself. She really enjoys a challenge and will happily spend hours building her kits by herself, with the occasional call for help of she gets really stuck.I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves both Harry Potter and Lego. The thing I love most about lego is that my daughter gets hours of enjoyment actually building the sets, then she gets even more enjoyment playing with her characters within the set she's just built - she loves acting out scenes from the film. I'm sure that this set is probably someones dream lego set. But for me its sort of a major disappointment. I simply do not believe that the change to these less accurate, playset inspired castle builds was warranted. Even as a kid I remember hating the old Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts sets (of which this and the other modular hogwarts sets are trying to capture) and never buying them FOR A REASON. They do not depict any recognizable part of the castle seen in the films. The 2018-2020 wave was amazing. Brought these highly accurate sets for people to build and display, but also fantastic interiors for play so I can use them too. This new style really does ruin everything that was great about this rebooted Lego Harry Potter theme. I really hope Lego doesn't stick with ... MoreI'm sure that this set is probably someones dream lego set. But for me its sort of a major disappointment. Its awful. That being said, the play value is amazing, if your child isn't like what i waa like, someone with eyes.
I received a fraudulent product. I received the item on the left, but was expecting the item on the right. What I received was not even LEGO brand! It looked identical the the LEGO Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets box, however NOWHERE on the box did it say Lego brand! Where the LEGO logo was it said “Magic Castle” - this was my first inkling it was a fraudulent product. I am NOT happy that Walmart allow dupes to be sold like this! My son would have noticed it was not Lego, and been disappointed! This is far too expensive to not be the real thing! Returning and buying elsewhere.
Still in the middle of building this set for my daughter, but there’s a great many little details and nods to the Harry Potter books that my daughter excitedly tells me. The modular building designs are nice, with neat little flourishes throughout the build and a lot of frogs! I like the inclusion of the glow in the dark pieces as well.Only issue I’ve had with the set is very minor, but there are some errors in the instructions specifically to do with the numbering of the stickers. My instructions say they eyes on the stone face are both 11, where as my sticker sheet has them as 11 and 12. The instructions also note sticker 12 as being a book cover when it is 16. Not huge issues, but something that should be corrected.Overall very happy with the set. My daughter used her birthday money to purchase it and is definitely happy with it.
I really enjoyed building this set. It’s fun to put all the buildings together, the mini figures were all great, and the roofs are back to green! This means I can set it next to the old Hogwarts and it will look the same. However, I would say the drawback is the price. Lego has always been really expensive, but getting more so. I understand inflation, but when half the pieces are studs or other small items, you’d think Lego could not make it 50% more than what it should be.
I have had this set for over a year and now am reviewing it.It is a good set, with many pros and relatively few cons. The Minifigs in this set are good, and they include the important characters from The Chamber of Secrets. The only problem with the minifigs is that the younger ones are very plain, especially put against the elaborate Dumbledore and Nearly Headless Nick. The main build itself is fine, taking a couple of hours with about 1000 pieces. The exterior is very detailed and elaborate, making a great showpiece. The Interior at times has parts that when constantly taking in and out can be annoying to put back in the right spot. The playability could be better, but the looks make up for it.The glaring problem with this set is the chamber of secrets tunnel ... MoreI have had this set for over a year and now am reviewing it.It is a good set, with many pros and relatively few cons. The playability could be better, but the looks make up for it.The glaring problem with this set is the chamber of secrets tunnel entrance. It is a separate build from the main castle and looks very out of place just sitting there. It is well designed, yes, but it has no proper place. The Basilisk figure is one thing I especially like about this set. Its head piece is well designed, and when put together it looks as seamless as Legos can. It has great playability, as it can turn many different ways, and is good for animators too, as it can attach to plates below. The price on this set now is rather annoying for this massive showpiece. Lego collectors must resign themselves to the high 150$ USD price. It was much better last year when it was USD 130$, but it did not rise in price more than any other set. Overall, it has enough playability and displayability to be worth it.This set has also lasted (Again, coming from a 14yr old collector who has had this set for a year). Although you need patience to put it together the first time, what makes this set nice is that it is easy to put back together if you drop it or something. This set is a good set, but I dropped a star because of the Chamber of Secrets entrance thingie. It is worth it though, and I would recommend this set to someone tipping on the verge of buying or not.
This was the first set I purchased as an adult. The only thing I wanted to do for my 24th birthday was build a Lego set. I wanted one that was over 1000 pieces so it would bring me longevity. Overall, I was very satisfied with this build. I love Harry Potter and the attention to detail was marvelous. I even made over 10 videos showcasing this build. Check out SianiWhat on TikTok
Ok so, I want to make this quick and simple. This HP Chamber of Secrets is really big and it's amazingly detailed. Came packed in a special outer box to protect the actual LEGO set box. Box has beautiful graphics and is an instant collectable on its own! I love sets that have other sets you can buy that attaches to them!! If you think it's pricey, you're right but not too bad. Due to its amazing size, it's definitely worth the money! Longest build experience I've had since the 71043 Hogwarts Castle set! Don't think, just buy this now! Perfect gift for any HP fan and will not disappoint!! We need more Harry Potter sets this size!!!
